Happy New Year to all.

I am hoping for at least an 8 lb loss this month. I would also like to re-hit my 40 lb loss. I am still trying to recover from my Christmas cheat weight. It seemed like once I hit that 40 lb loss my body just held on to everything with a vengeance. Then I got really discouraged, and finally gave into temptation on Christmas. What a terrible mistake for me.

Happy 2014 Everybody!!! I am re-starting tomorrow and am hitting the gym early in the AM. I would like to drop at least 15 lbs this month. SOOOO happy all the carbs and sweets are out of the house and the carby holidays are over!

Good morning everyone!
I'm working overnight tonight and tomorrow -- double ugh.
Somehow, my feet get terribly bloated when I do this.
Yesterday I had brunch at work (catered in - i had the frittata, a sausage and two slices of bacon - but what IS with that? Microwaved bacon? not so great). and then a T of low carb peanut butter when i got home and a glass of wine. I don't plan to eat anything until noonish.
Don't know when i'll be able to weigh- probably Saturday morning.
I gained two pounds in December and, as a result, I'm being extremely careful.

Lost 40 pounds back then and maintained for almost 8 years...then carb creep crept. I've always been low carb, but went hard core again in March 2012.

Everyone with your goals are very inspirational to me. I have only one goal and it's not to gain this month. I will be gone on a long vacation for the last half of this month so I'm really looking at no gaining. When I get back is when I will go hard.

I get bored quickly with my food and tend to eat the same thing over and over. I love it when people post their menus! Here's what I had today:

3 egg and cheese omelette
2 coffee with hwc
Homemade dry ribs, side salad with lemon juice/ olive oil

Wow. Written down that's not a lot of food. I wasn't overly hungry today. Trying to get in my water and exercising. Gym tomorrow

Goal this month, to get down to 185 and stay there. Hopefully I'll lose even more than that seceretly shooting for 180. I still feel that I'm very fat. I'm having to reevaluate how much weight I want to lose. My boyfriend thinks I'm trying to be anorexic. I still have rolls... I don't want rolls. We are going to have to find a happy medium, a weight that I feel is good and he doesn't think is too skinny.

Day 5! I made it and still no wine! LOL. I'm not addicted but gosh I enjoy a glass a few nights a week. Of course it isn't on plan but somehow I rationalized it.


Gypsy.have ou tried magnesium oil spray? I have a bad elbow and started taking magnesium a few months back for sleep issues. Read a book on transdermal therapy and saw it helps pain. It worked!!! You can get ancient minerals online!

I guess i'll join in with y'all Goal is to continue to stay on plan. Keep my fats up to 67-70% and carbs down to <5%, and exercise 5+ days a week.

No specific monthly weight loss goals but sure 2lbs a week would be good. I figure if I just keep to the plan it will happen.

But for posterity's sake:

Hi everyone! I am not new, just havent been around in a while Time to get busy!

I am Chelsey, a mom to a 4 year old (!!) and a wife going on 7 years (my DH needs to do this too, but he's trying his own thing...what it is about marriage and weight gain?! )

I am also a registered nurse, who at last count, has gained 30 freaking lbs since starting on night shift. This will probably be my struggle over every thing!

The goal is to not weigh in every day, since working nights makes weird changes in the scale, but weigh in on the days when I am off the night before so that I wake up and havent eaten during the night time hours. Make sense? Probably just to me

Anyway, ready to get back to it! I have lost over 100 lbs before on low carb, but sadly gained so much of it back (not completely, but close!) I am ready to lose it an keep it off! The goal is to lose 100 again and then try for baby #2. I know this may sound counter productive, but having a baby at nearly 300 lbs is the worst thing I think I could do to my body (gestational diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, oh my! ) I just want an easier pregnancy than what I can give my body right now!

I am looking forward to meeting you all!

January goal: 285.0

Welcome to all the new people! Hello again to all of my friends!

December was a complete disaster for me but at least I kept my gain to under 4 lbs. I weighed 189 on Dec 31st but didn't weigh yesterday or today. I am making January's goal to just stay on plan and focus less on the scale. Its been a bit refreshing not looking at that number every day. I'm glad the holidays are over and I can get back to our routine. I will probably get back to running next week. Bathing suit season is right around the corner!

I hear you on that! My DH thinks I'm skinny too. He wants me to be wearing a bikini on our upcoming vacation. I don't have a bikini body!!! I don't even care about the stretch marks, it's that my size 10/12 body doesn't belong in a bikini!!! They actually make bikinis in my size, so I will wear one for him but remain covered up when I'm verticle!! I think with my DH when he compares me to two years ago, I am skinny. The reality is I need to lose another 15 to feel good about myself. I say that it's good to consider the other "half" but you do need to feel good about yourself too. Don't struggle for a low, possibly unreachable number but get to a place where you are content and healthy. I know you will make your goal!!!!

Good Morning Everyone! So many new people! It's great to have more people for even more encouragement and motivation on here!

I'm down almost a pound today. I'm definitely losing more slowly. It seems to be taking me 5-7 days to go down a pound, so that will make more losses even slower than they have been, but as long as I'm continuing to lose, I'll try to be patient. I'm also not weighing every day right now, I'm just weighing every 4 or 5 days or so.

ThisGirl, you'll find plenty of motivation and encouragement here to keep you going when you hit week 4, so no worries there! Just post often, we'll be here for you.

Laura, that's a nice feeling though to have him think you're too skinny, isn't it? I know what you mean, there are times that I'm tempted to just hang out at this weight for a while. I'm feeling good, I've bought lots of cute new clothes in "normal" sizes, not just the biggest tents I can find to cover my body! But I set a goal of 150 and I really want to reach that. Even at 150 I'll still be considered "overweight", so it's not like I'll be "skinny", but considering the 300 pounds that I started at, it's definitely a big change. I think you should take it slowly and stop when you're ready to. Find a point that you can both be happy at.

Shelly, how's day 2 on the Chantix?

Hi Everyone!!
I have totally been MIA the last couple of weeks.. Too embarrassed to come on I suppose.
I managed to gain 6.5lbs in December.. Yikes.
I have been doing a juice fast the last couple of days to reset my system – It’s not low carb but as my system doesn’t need to digest any food it really helps to reset me.. Lost 5 of those 7lbs in the last 2 days so feeling a bit better. Going to remain on my juice fast for another 2 days, but then I am off to Mexico for 2 weeks, back 1 week, and then California for work meetings (lots of food & drinking) ..
I suppose my goal will be to not gain too much this month!!? I would like to stay low carb while I am away but realistically with starting my day with mimosa’s and being surrounded by beer, Pina Colada’s and Margarita’s all day it really will be impossible.. (food shouldn't be too bad, just the booze I am worried about).. Ahh well, I am going to enjoy it and correct it when I get back.
I wish you all good luck in January since I wont be around to check in much and I will see you all in the February challenge ready to rock!

I have a Bikini! It doesn't look That awful on but I so wish the bottoms were higher on the waist. I have The hands down Uglist stomach! Scars, stretch marks etc. I'm gonna be working on abs and thighs, butt etc so Maybe by summer it'll look better?

Day 2 of chantix seems better. I'm Really tired though. I was worried about nightmares and crazy dreams last night but Thank God If I had any I don't remember them! Been up since a little after 8:00am and had 1 cig so far today! Which is A-Mazing for me! And it tasted weird. So everytime I think about smoking I go make myself clean something LOL!

Shelly - Good luck! Almost 6 years quit here! (aside from a little detour this summer)

Gypsy - That same truck found its way to my house over the holidays.

I'm almost ashamed to post a 13 POUND GAIN in 10 days. That has to just be ridiculous water gain. Needless to say. I'm committed to my way of eating, because in addition to the ridiculous weight on the scale Jan 1 I have also been feeling like dog dung for the past 10 days. I needed the reminder, but wish I had pulled myself out of it a little sooner.


Jan Goal - 175 (This was my Nov and December goal and I made it both times. I hope to never make this my goal again)

Also, DH and I are started C25K again today. my secondary goal is to stay on C25K plan all month.

Hey everyone! I'm back. I needed a moment last month to just forget dieting I think. But I'm back with a bunch of motivation. I joined a second gym that offers a lot of excellent group classes, and plan to go there a few days per week as well as my regular gym. Also want to keep training with my running and maybe do a longer race later in the year. My second 5k is this month. Diet-wise, I'm on day 2 of induction. Have a horrible headache. But I know I'll feel better tomorrow or at least by the weekend.

B: chicken, broccoli, and cheese casserole (kind of mix it together in a casserole dish with a little mayo and scallions and bake till bubbly)
L: salad greens with chicken salad on top - creamy garlic dressing
D: repeat of breakfast

I'm going to try to give up coffee and the daily diet sodas. I consume far too many calories with the coffee and I'm not sure how healthy diet sodas are. I keep reading conflicting stuff about how our bodies absorb the chemicals. So I'm trying sparkling water this week to buffer the urge some. I'll prob allow an occasional diet soda when out, but not often.

Life wise I'm still a terrible mess. But I'm going to keep trying daily and use this place as a nice outlet from my other thoughts.

Goal - I hope to just lose weight this month.

And I love your goals in your siggy. That's the way my brain works too. My lowest in 2012 was 221. So I'm kind of fixated on that as my first goal. After that, I want to get to onederland for obvious reasons. Then my mind explodes. haha

Goal this month - maybe 160. But I am up some more today. I had my foot 'surgery' Monday and I think the pain meds may be contributing to problems with my weight loss. IDK But I do need the pain med. Gosh, I was in so much pain last night, got up three times for more meds. If anyone here has pincer nails, I would suggest waiting as long as possible to get them done. I know Tmi. Sorry.

The pain meds may cause you to gain only because they tend to "back you up" I suggest getting a gentle stool softener like colace if you notice they are constipating you, hope your foot feels better soon!!
