finishing the last minute packing. The lil boys bowls and food, their pillow. My toiletries. I don't think he has packed anything yet. Hitting the road in about an hour when it gets light. Everyone have a great new year if I don't get on before then. I know I won't be able to weigh but should be fine.

Kemp, I could not do this woe without my coffee/caffeine and hwc. They are my lifesavers. We definitely want a pic so hurry up and get one. Are you doing 72 induction again or just regular?

AVA, I am right there with you. But I know if I stick with Induction for a little while it will come back off - fingers crossed

Good morning my friends

Well, I guess the worst is behind us now and time to shake off the blues and any gains we saw. Time to embrace the upcoming year ahead and strive for a healthier, happier "US"!! We've clawed and dragged ourselves thru one of the toughest times of the year to be committed to our WOE.
Congrats to all who managed to lose during this challenging time and to those who may have seen a slight rise, it's okay. You'll knock that little extra off soon enough. I hope you all "pigged out" on love and family over the holidays and embrace a positive outlook for 2014. This will be our year!! I am so excited to see all the pictures and progress we've made and will be making over the upcoming months. We WILL be one sexy group of people in no time. Bless you all!!

Hi all,

I am so disgusted! I made it thru Christmas Day on plan, then lost control last night. Came home from work exhausted, which is a dangerous place for me. I binged on garbage all evening and went to bed miserable, both emotionally and physically.

What could I have done before picking up that first bite??? Ned some ideas from all of you.

I felt soooo good on plan, why did I do this to myself??

Today is a new day. Back to induction. I am in awe of all of you that got thru the big day without going insane.

Firstly, you probably started this at the hardest time of the year but any start day is a good day. Try to remember how you feel when you go off plan. Garbage eating and over eating causes the emotional down which then leads some to creating this vicious circle where you keep going around and around. You have to find the strength to break this and decide what you really want and go for it. There is no magic recipe for staying LC but this time of year is very challenging, even for the most serious LC'ers. Just get yourself back on plan and you should be okay. Good luck!!

Lase88 i've been there sweetie. My Advice is if at All possible get rid of the high carb junk from your house. So then if you Are in the situation where you're starving and caving then you don't Have any HC junk around. And make sure you have plenty of LC goodies on hand to reach for. I can't get rid of All the HC junk in My house because my husband would have a Fit! Lol But I make sure that the HC junk is stuff I Hate so i'm not tempted as much. You got this!! We're All here to help in Anyway we can

Hi,

Hanging in there, but going up. Plan on regrouping and doing things right after the Holidays. I do ok then in the evenings eat something I shouldn't. Drives me nuts because I don't even want it. Just stressed I guess. Dad is doing a bit better Scares me every time. Missing my old friend a lot and my old house. Feel very home sick. Sounds dumbed because we chose to move, but I do miss my home. Oh well I will get over it some day. Just need to keep telling myself why we moved. Life just seem to not be good right now. Can't wait for the new year to start fresh. I will over come this and get back to the 140 mark. Thanks to all you gals and guys for being here and listening to me rant. You help a lot.......

Missy: I am doing 72. I know that on the trip as much as I want to stay on plan I will not. So going to just not go to crazy!!! But enjoy the things I can get down there only.

Lass88:It happens to all of us. I have found the key to the cheat or Plan alteration is to not get down on yourself. Just restart the next day or right away. We are all human. I am planning to cheat all week next week but when I get back I will be 100 percent on plan. You have to work the plan your way. Very few can do 100 percent forever. Well except Trillex she can. I have not been able to. I tell myself I will be good, but now instead of getting mad if I get off plan, I brush myself off and restart right away, it is a long term race not a sprint. Good luck

bonny-jean: You are the best. Do not know what I would do without ya!!! Always so positive.

Looks like everyone is in full on recovery mode and getting ready for a great January. I am also. When I get back on the 8th it will be full steam ahead and getting it done. Looking forward to it. Will post a pic or two while down there. Oh I am really looking forward to the trip that is for sure. Come on Caybrew and meat patties!!

Hello everyone!!
I still haven't weighed but i have stayed entirely on plan, although i have been eating a tad more than usual this week. Stayed on plan, even though everyone was oooing and ahhing over the catered desserts we had on christmas. The dinner included some fantastic roasted cauliflower -- kind of curried -- with golden raisins (i didn't eat the raisins)
Tonight we go to my sister's house -- i'm taking some shrimp and LC cocktail sauce - and that's all i need. Tomorrow-- my aunt's house; she always has some nice food laid out and I usually take some smoked salmon, cream cheese and capers.
I'm at work today, but i have a LOT OF wrapping to do! YIKES

Lost 40 pounds back then and maintained for almost 8 years...then carb creep crept. I've always been low carb, but went hard core again in March 2012.

MissyDee, Thank you! You know those pounds will come right back off, so don't let it throw you. I know we're all ready to start a new year and get back on schedule and back into our "groove".

Lase88, you already got a lot of great advice! All I can add to it is that when I'm feeling weak, or like I want to go off plan, I come here. I read a lot and post some and it really helps to keep my mind in line. I also think about how I'm going to feel AFTERWARDS if I eat it. I know that I'll be mad at myself, I'll feel guilty, and I'll have to face the scale the next morning. I haven't found anything yet that is worth that, so I don't go off plan.

PC, the holidays can be especially tough emotionally sometimes. Hang in there, you are through most of it and it's time to get back our regular routines. That usually seems to help.

Kemp, Have fun on your trip!!! You know we'll be waiting for pictures!

DQ, You are always so busy and always find a way to stay on plan! I don't know how you do it! Have fun!

Shelly, did you get that new scale yet?

No new scale yet. Gonna have to wait awhile longer. I had to spend the rest of my Christmas other stuff. Oh well that's how it goes.
Does Anyone happen to know How many carbs champagne has? I Rarely drink (last drink was almost 2 yrs ago lol) I just choose Not to drink usually due to a strong family history of alcoholics. But since it's Almost New Years eve I was thinking maybe i'd get some champagne Or some other kind of sparkling wine etc. I don't want to go to the expense of getting a bottle of whiskey or vodka etc since it won't get drank. So what do ya'll think? Just something where there's enough for a few glasses.

Well I took this tonight. May not get a picture once I get down south in cayman. I still have quite the fat roll, but the arms are shaping up and the mid section is starting to come together. I am 40 pounds down now and it feels awesome. I have some bloat from the day but happy over all. Hope it does not gross you guys out. To me I still look so huge I cannot believe I am posting it. But it is what it is.

No change today. Back on strict induction. No cheese, only dairy is HWC for coffee. I'm not in ketosis yet, so maybe over the next day or so I'll get back in. My urine test strips are negative, and I always have a good experience with them, so I do use them as a tool for testing.

Hoping to get back on track and stay that way.

Bonny: That is my closet and I only have maybe 10 feet of closet rod. She has another one full of shoes and flats under the bed full of shoes. I would say close to 300 pairs of shoes and boots!!! And we just gave away 100 pairs or so to goodwill. Oh well her vice is shoes, mines is donuts and chocolate milk!!!

Well I am just trying to maintain, went a little crazy last night, had gumbo and oysters with the crackers. A few beers but our vacation officially started last night and it was my wife's birthday dinner. So today back on plan for today and tomorrow or at least try and keep the carbs to a minimum. Will start packing today as we are on stand by for a earlier flight so we can get down there asap. Otherwise Monday at 6:00 am we are out of here.

I'm guessing there's lots of closets out there same as yours.
I don't think I have a vice, other than furs and maybe some bling which I can't afford too much of either. You sure have a lot of things going on right now. I wouldn't call these cheats ... how about "relaxing on the discipline!" Enjoy the hell out of your vacation and then back at it when you get home. I'm divorced so I have no advice in that department but I do hope you have a great time together. Can't wait till you're back and tell us about it.

Trying to be positive

Shelly: glad to see your scale is being a little more cooperative!! A hundred years ago the same thing happened to me when I was within 5 lbs of goal but now I can't understand why I seem to be stuck.
Everyone:What I call "cheating" over the holidays might have been a little sauce on the ribs, 3 tbsp of Lazy Man's cabbage rolls and I think 4 thimble sized chocolates over the last 5 days. I know that's not it cause we talking about ounces over a week. How can my scale be so stuck when I'm still over 50 lbs from goal??? I'm confused and frustrated. I know what I tell you all but at this point I'm only a few months in and fear the future if this is what's happening now???
My food/calorie intake is maybe on the low side but I don't feel hungry. I know you guys aren't doctors but I know you've all been thru this a time or two so any suggestions would be appreciated. Example of what I've been eating the last week or so...

Brunch: a smokie or 3 scrambled eggs
Dinner: 6 oz turkey (white) and 3 ribs w/sauce
1 chocolate
6 c coffee/Splenda/hwc
6 c water /Mio

HEP ME!!

I know Shell. I'm looking for a magic formula, I guess ... just like so many others. This has been a very slow month for me and I do understand it happens but this early in the game is a little disappointing. As you can see I'm not eating much and maybe that's it but we are to eat only when hungry and then in moderation, which I think I'm doing. Too many carbs in the smokies I know but they were just a temporary "grab" food while family was in town. The MIO is maybe a 1/4 to 1/2 tsp per 10 oz glass of water.

Hi Shay: Nice drop there, girl. 2 lbs in 2 days is pretty good!!
Are you due for this Alberta Clipper that's running thru Manitoba right now??? Spent 1.5 hrs outside yesterday shoveling the old stuff right down to the pavement. It was so beautiful yesterday and now the winds are whipping about 76 km, we have travel warnings and 6" have dumped on my nice clean sidewalk and decks. Ugh!!!
Oh well, the bright side is more exercise today!!

Shelly, you are doing wonderful! Champagne - non-sweet, has about 5net; sparkling wine has about 10net. Try to go with extra brut and avoid Prosecco or Asti which are very sugary.

Lase, we ALL lose control every now and then. The good thing is you realize it and are back on plan. That is the only thing we can do. There is no miracle cure to stop us from taking that first bite. Sometimes we have the willpower, sometimes we don't. Don't let it get you down so much. I am a control freak and thought hey I got this - no problem. But even I have learned that I make stupid mistakes as I did on Christmas with food choices. We just have to let it go and move on, start over, do whatever it takes to get back on plan. I agree with Shelly on removing high carb junk from your home. My family hated it but I had to get rid of everything until I got comfortable with myself on plan. I am slowly allowing it back in as I feel I can avoid it because I just no longer want it. So if you can do that, try to at least for a little while.

pcalt, maybe it is just the memories you are missing. They will always be there, so you carry them with you. When our house burned down and we rebuilt, the new house was bigger and much nicer. But I still miss the old house for the memories, even though the house itself was very old and falling apart.

Bonny, I can only offer advice on what I would do if it were me. I would do a liquid fat fast for a day to restart your system and purge out whatever is wrong. I did one yesterday. Drink coffee with hwc and water all day from supper the day before to breakfast the day after fast. So that would be eat supper tonight and then nothing but liquid again until Monday morning. Then start forcing yourself to eat at least 700-800 calories on plan try for three full meals a day bt at least two - best for breakfast and lunch. Up fat to about 1.5 times whatever your protein intake is. If you are anything like me with appetite getting to 700-800calories is pushing it. I really have no desire to eat. But on my second month, once I was eating that every day, I started wanting to eat more and some days could go to 1200-1600 cals. Hope it helps.

I understand about not being hungry. I went the whole first month doing complete fasts every other day because I just could not force myself to eat. For some reason, I am struggling again with not wanting to eat. I think eating the extra at Christmas has thrown me out of whack again. So, I did the fast yesterday and I am forcing myself to eat today.
