Anybody??

I was just thinking what could I drink that would still taste good.

1. Is rum and diet coke okay??
2. What about vodka with water mixed with MIO???

Might sound gross but I like fruity drinks too and thought that might work?? What do you think??

Most all liquor is zero carb. Avoid cordials. Just use a no carb mixer and you will be good to go. Just remember your body will jump out of ketosis while it burns the alcohol off. And of course there is 65 calories in a shot of liquor.

Thanks Kemp. Firstly, I can't honestly claim I've ever been in Ketosis?? I haven't had any of the symptoms so I don't know?? I think a big part of my weight loss is the low calorie as well as low carb.
I had no intention of trying any "cordials" as I'm sure that would be disastrous.
I think I'll try the vodka with water & MIO. I'm hoping it'll taste like a sling.
btw: How you doin'???

Bonny-Jean, sometimes I like a vodka with the O.S. Diet Cran-Grape, or the Diet Blueberry Pomegranate. 5 calories (and to me it doesn't taste diet-y, I hate diet sodas with a passion. Aspartame gives me wicked headaches). Only 5 calories for 8 ounces of the juice, so it can't be more than 1.25 carbs. My husband and I both quite like them.

Bonny-jean: Other than feeling like I got kicked in the teeth....Great. I am in shape, thinner, new job, life is pretty good. But looks like I might lose my best friend, so that sucks. Oh well, life goes on. I am not dying or losing a limb. Thanks for asking.

Shelly: Someone once told me when I was thinking about cheating one time..."you are not going to put all the weight back on in a night" Don't fret, it is just one of many blips. If that is all you have over the holiday season then it is a huge win. You will be fine. Glad you are back in action and getting it done.

Just got back in from my run and it is official I have lost the half marathon. Half mile into my run this morning my heel screamed, "no you don't I ain't healed enough for this pounding" So I just do not want to do any more damage and derail all my weight loss efforts and working out. So back to the stair stepper and weights only. So lost the marathon, may lose the wife. They say bad things comes in three, I so wonder what is next!!! LOL Hopefully nothing. He shall make no path to tough to walk!!!! Well at least I walked another 1.5 miles after I had to stop running and that felt fine, so that is good. Will check in after shower with weight and the such. I am happy to be alive.

Kemp: Be strong my friend. I know it's easy to say that but please know you have made some strong friendships here and we care about you very much. You've got so many things hitting you all at once and I think your heal is #3 so consider it done. Try to focus despite everything and put the blinders on, use your tunnel vision for your weight loss journey and the other pieces will fall into place. Although hard at the time, I believe things work out for the best.... eventually!! We're with you all the way, Kemp.

SHELLY: Oh, do I feel you pain today. Up 1.2 lbs and no explanation other than I had about 8 meatballs from the cafeteria yesterday. Tasted like prepared and frozen but the mushroom sauce could have been full of flour, salt and sugar. I don't know and certainly wasn't worth what happened. I only had 3 oz salmon and mayo for supper but I guess the damage was done at lunch. UGH!

Hoping all my soon to be MORE gorgeous friends have a great day.

Lori, I hope you get to feeling better. Good Loss.

Good Loss DQ!

Shelly, I am so sorry. Keep at it, maybe a strict induction for a couple days if you can.

Kemp, my prayers are still with you.

Bonny, sorry about the increase, must have been combo meatballs and mushroom. That is why I so hate eating out anymore. You never really know what's in the stuff. It will come back off though.

I'm not a drinker so no help from me. I used to drink fruity too but none of that would be legal now I don't think.

(((Shelly))) I feel your frustration. Don't let it completely derail you like it has me. You know that its your body rebelling and not something you are doing.

MissyDee, Congrats on getting to the 160s!!!!

Kemp, sending hugs your way too! I'm so sorry that not only are you dealing with an injury but the possible break-up of your marriage. I am a firm believer in things happening for a reason. As hard as things seem now, maybe you are being prepped for a much better situation. Maybe that situation involves you and your dw together or maybe its a journey you have to take alone. Whatever happens, you are going to be stronger for it. We are all here for support, a shoulder to cry on.....whatever you need.

Everyone is still doing great! I'm still not doing great but I'm not going completely overboard either. Breakfast and lunch are on plan. Dinner is whatever. The last time I checked, I was still in the 180s. But I'd rather have memories of a good Christmas where I wasn't stressed over memories of me obsessing about food and my weight.

I am planning holidays too and it's not too stressful here. Thankfully at least 2 of the 3 meals we eat with family will have a turkey or a ham and I'll bring a big old chef salad to each place.

Only down .4 this morning to 179.4 from yesterday, but it's still going down.

I did treat myself to a diet dr. pepper cherry this morning so after that I will have to go heavier than normal on the water. Tonight we are eating out... I need a break from cooking honestly. Low carb dinner cooking is wearing me out planning wise, but I love making the casseroles and such...

Good Morning Everyone!

Kemp, I'm really sorry about the marathon! I know you were looking forward to it. Maybe after that last 40 pounds comes off, you'll be able to do the marathon next year. I have faith in you!

Shelly, I'm so sorry Sweetie! Are you SURE it's not your scale?? Did you get a new one yet?

DQ, as always, you're so inspiring and doing an amazing job! I don't know how you're still losing, there's no fat on your body!

Changingmylife, I wouldn't worry about the diet soda, I drink them daily! LOL Every person is different, but they don't affect my losses any.

BulldogMom, it sounds like you have a plan in place for getting through the holidays and that's what matters. You're not just going on a full out binge, so I'm really proud of you. I think you're doing a great job!

BonnyJean, sorry your lunch sabotaged you! I know, it can be so hard eating out. Even a regular hamburger can have fillers in it, and I NEVER order scrambled eggs, because they usually aren't made with real eggs or have crap added to them. Don't let it throw you though, it will come right back off.

I had sort of a non scale victory today. 7 years ago, when my BF and I moved in together, we were very into the Harley thing and did a lot of riding. We had a lot of Harley Davidson clothes and memorabilia. One of those things was an orange Harley Davidson Woman's Sweater that I really liked. It's a size Medium, so, as you can imagine, it's been hanging in my closet a LONG time without being worn. I never really expected to wear it every again, but I just couldn't get rid of it. Just for the heck of it, I tried it on this morning. IT FIT!!! Seriously, it wasn't even tight. Couldn't believe it!

December goals: Arm weights every other day, crunches everyday. Weight goal is a very aggressive 159.anything!

December 1: 170.2 (arm weights/crunches)
December 2: 168.8 Whoosh! (crunches)
December 3: 168 (arm weights/crunches)
December 4: 168.4...not sure what that little blip is about, maybe I inhaled too much powdered sugar??? (crunches)
December 5: 167.8 Yay! I inhaled less powdered sugar than the day before! (arm weights/crunches)
December 6: No weigh in. I only had about 4 1/2 hours of sleep and I know my weight won't be accurate. (crunches)
December 7: 167.4 (arm weights/crunches)
December 8: 167.4 (crunches)
December 9: 167.2 GRRRR (arm weights/crunches)
December 10: 166 FINALLY! (crunches)
December 11: 165.2 YAY! (arm weights/crunches)
December 12: 164.4 (crunches)
December 13: 164.2 (arm weights/crunches)
December 14: 163.4 (crunches)
December 15: 163.6 (arm weights/crunches)
December 16: No weigh in (crunches)
December 17: 163.2 (arm weights/crunches)
December 18: 162.6 (crunches)
December 19: 163 (arm weights/crunches)

Up a little today. And I know it's a combo of: TOM is due to arrive anytime now and I'm retaining a little water--and also likely I had a bit too much salt yesterday, my wedding ring is a bit snugger this morning. And when TOM is coming, let's just say that my digestive system always gets sluggish then. Nothing moves out of my body! TMI, I'm sure, but I've learned how my TOM works after 32 years of it. Not get going to stress about it (though I'm not happy about the blip). I know I have not had a single cheat this month and I have met my exercise goals this month.

ShellyHey, skinny!! You might have to kill it like Kemp. You're already tiny and maybe your body is quite happy where it is (I know mine would be). Good luck my dear.

MissyNice loss there, slow and sure!

BulldogMomHey, a slow steady creep is still good and I 100% agree with you that you don't destroy Christmas over weight loss. We have 11 months out of 12 to work so hard to achieve our goals.

Mthergoos That's totally cool. Wow, you must be smiling ear to ear. Funny you mentioned Harley's as I've got this gorgeous, black, fringed Harley jacket with a huge rose on the back that says "Harley Lady". Can't wait to get back into that.
It was time for a reward and I hope you enjoy that!

Bonny Jean, I'm sure that jacket will fit you in no time! I have 2 Harley Jackets that I did get back into already, but they were a little bigger. I never expected that sweater to fit again and was just so shocked when it slid right on.

My Dad had the battered Captains catch and I got the grilled scallops, shrimp and Lobster tail with Brocolli! Never knew scallops had carbs until today! Oh well there were 5 of them.
I gotta say i'm worried about my Dad. He's obese and just walking from the Truck to the store left him out of breath. His blood sugar got low (according to him) in Target so he bought a Candy Bar! I tried to tell him he he needs Protein Not sugar but he refuses to listen I'm not trying to be bossy i'm just worried

Ah Shelly, I'm sorry. Men can be so stubborn, and the older that they get, the worse it gets. Maybe, eventually, your transformation and lifestyle will inspire him to make the changes that he needs to. I'm glad you had such a great day with him though!

Hey guys quick check in. I really appreciate all the kind words from everyone. I have been super busy and am heading back out the door to the company Christmas party. Catered Italian so I am eating a few chicken legs before I leave to make sure I do not splurge. I am going to have a drink or 4 that is for sure. I need it. My DW is going to so happy about that. Will catch all up in the morning or when I get home a little tipsy. LOL

It's very unfortunate that SO many people think low blood sugar means LOW SUGAR!!! Honestly, I know a couple of people that think they have to fuel that with as much sugar as they can get. I don't get it.
Hopefully one day you'll convince him otherwise, Shell.

Wow, that was really nice of you Missy. Thank you so much.
No darn surprise that my all time favourite drink (Pina Colada ) has the MOST carbs. Unbelievable! And OMG my Kahlua is the highest in liqueurs. Seriously, what are the odds!! (eye roll) LOL Thanks again.
