I'm 5'3" and a smidge. I wish I were 5'9" it would be so much less weight to lose!

Pediatrician said I would top out at 5'7". I'd love to be taller, I wouldn't have to climb on a chair to reach things in the tops of the cupboards! It is what it is, my feet still reach the ground like everyone else!

Well I am 5' 7", charts say I should be around 160 or so. Very funny. I look like a sick person at 180 much less 160. I will take onderland and be happy.

I'm just shy of 5'8 and the doc's measures say I should be around 125. I settle for 130 to 150. I don't think I look good at 125 but I was less than that when my dh married me. Too skinny, I say. I am able to get into some size 12s now so I will be okay when I can get comfortable into a size 8-10.

We're the same height then. Its frustrating because I'm too short for most average sized clothing, but too big for petite.

Bonny-Jean, I needed someone to come slap me back into reality. Next time, I'll be calling you! I hope I bounce back quickly though I deserve everything I get. It was a 3 day family funfest and now back to the real world.

I'm assuming every woman is 5'3" to 5'4" and a shoe size 8 1/2 since I can never find clothes or shoes in my size.

Thanks Kemp! I'm a person who needs routine and everything got thrown off last week. My husband finally got home but didn't go back to work. Lots of Christmas events this weekend, a baby shower, family get togethers just equaled diet disaster. So its meat and eggs for a while.

Actually Hon, I think the "funfest" was the real world. We just have to learn to adjust ourselves to it and love life and live it!!!
We will get healthy in time if we stick with it so let's get fitter and thinner but we can't be miserable doing it!!!

Thank you everyone!

Speaking of height/weight ratios. I'm 5'9 and should be between 129 and 170. I've never seen any of those numbers in my teenage or adult life. When I was 195ish 4 years ago..I looked really ackward. Perhaps due to the fact that I never knew myself in that body. If that makes sense. It was super hard to maintain that low and always fluxuated between 200-205 perfectly. I do have a goal of 170 I think anything under 200 will be complete sculpting of my body...If I knew then what I know now ..I would have done just that and continued to lose body fat.

Yeah, that does sound a little on the "slim" side, I must say. I don't care what those charts say. I know at 5'4", 140 - 145 would look pretty damn good on me. I'm not going for "thin". I'm 55 yrs old for God's sake. I'm okay with average. I just don't want to be fat and unhealthy anymore. I'm not big boned so that's not an excuse.

Lots of chatting today I love it. Lots of support and it will be needed over the next 3 weeks. I am getting tired of the same old food. I am going for steak tonight at a very nice place with the moms and not even that excited. They have a bakery and all I can think about is that bread!!!! I know I will stay strong but dang I do not know what is going on. I am getting great results but the cravings are hitting pretty hard strangely. I can deal, maybe because I did not workout today? Anyway just a vent. Going to eat early so hope that will keep the cravings at bay. The more I think about it that 22oz bone in prime rib with some aujus and horseradish sauce does sound awesome. I cant wait to run in the morning. Even after that steak I do expect to be down some in the morning.

Kemp & Princessmommy

Okay, you guys... I just have to ask... what is gonna happen is you indulge with one little bite or two??? It's not gonna kill ya!! Now I'm not talking about having a whole plate of spaghetti, just a mouthful. Enjoy it, savor it but DON'T eat anymore of it. Kemp, you could knock off a donut in 10 mins. If I've learned anything from you guys it's that this is a journey, a forever thing. If we're gonna contemplate this for the very long haul, don't we need to occasionally take that little bite and get the carb monster fed and satisfied so we can lock him away for another couple of months. I find the cold and the lack of sunshine seems to feed the carb monster and I will take a bite once every couple of months just to appease myself that I'm not sacrificing. Once you feel like you're missing out is when you start back on that sad, sad path to the way we were.
I know you don't want to take that bite and neither do I but when the cravings get back, I know if I just grab that ONE fry, I will feel like I had "something" and then I feel better. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about but I hate to see my friends suffer so there it is. In 12 wks I've maybe had 8 nibbles but it works for me. Again, my loss is slow and maybe that's why but I'm pretty confident my body is not noticing that tiny bit but it works for my brain!! It scares me when I see these posts that say "I'm back... or Industion Again." So you know what, I will take the slow road with the odd little indiscretion and hopefully get there and pray to God, stay there. Just sayin' y'all. Take care.

Hahahahaha! Actually since I am down 27 pounds or so from my highest, I now wear a size 8 shoe, but I was an 8 1/2 for years.

I just remember when I weighed 127 pounds (my most "in shape" and lowest weight as an adult), I had what would now be a 00 waist, a size 2 hip, and about a 6 on top (darn boobage). At the time I walked about 5 miles a day, plus did a Jane Fonda workout (an hour long tape) once and sometimes twice a day. And I ate nothing. I was teeny tiny. I am shooting for 135 because I feel that is what I can maintain in my middle age.

My daughter is 23 years old. She topped out in weight at 227 several years ago and has now been maintaining between 140-145 for over a year and a half. She's 5'5" tall. She wears a 4, sometimes a 2. She's tiny! She does have quite a bit of muscle on her and as we all know, a pound of muscle takes up far less space than a pound of fat. I figure when I get to a size I feel good at, then I'll kick into maintain mode. It could be 140, could be 135, hell it could be 130. We'll see when I get there!

HI all,

Checking in. Well I am 5'7" and hold 135 great. I will get back to that weight some day. I am big, heavy boned, very womanly, broad shoulders etc, you get it. Hubby loves it, me not so much. It hard to find anything that fits. Kemp my hubby is only 5'7" as well, so normally I where flats or ballet slippers. I think he is at 183 right now but used to be 165.

Bonny - Had to laugh. 55 is not old lady.

Where do you guys by clothes from??? Even when I was 127 when I got married with my height, I wasn't in a size 4. The only time I was ever in a size 4 or less was when I was in my teens and weighed right at 100-105. At 140-145 I will be a 9/10.

Bonny, I know a guy who does exactly as you are saying and he has lost ALOT of weight. From August this year he was 295lbs and now he just hit 199 the beginning of this month. His caloric intake is around 800-900 a day but he eats a little bit of whatever he wants to eat. Plus he does protein shakes. I am always amazed when I look at his diet calendar. He will eat one bite of a cookie, or one french fry - yesterday he had .06oz of a turtle nut cake - I don't even know what .06 would be.. But Omg he is losing great! I just would not have that much self-control. I know for me if I take that one bite, I WILL eat the bag, the cake whatever...so just best for me to stay away altogether.

It's the vanity sizing, it has been working overtime for yeeeeeeeeears. My mom has a size 10 pair of pants from 1981 in the back of her closet. It's about the equivalent of a 4 these days.

I personally buy almost all my clothes (save undergarments, socks) from a few of the great thrift stores in my town. We have a lot of rich college students that buy things, wear them once (if at all) and donate them. A little over a month ago I bought a cashmere Christian Dior cardigan for $5. It would have retailed for close to $600 new. I wear Levi's, Gap, J. Crew, Banana Republic, a few things from Kohl's, Old Navy, Anne Taylor, and Loft. Lots of brands I could not afford new.

A friend ahead of me on her weight loss journey gave me all of her 8s and 10s when she got too small for them. I donated clothes as soon as they were too big, bought "new" things second hand. And I'll donate this round of clothing when I'm too small for them and go another round!

I haven't bought clothes in a long time, but my favorite place is Ann Taylor. Things just fit, but they are expensive. I would never fit a size 4 never... too much hips

That's surprising that 135 works for you at 5'7" with your shape?? At 5'4", I find I look a little on the slight side at 130. Hmm, that's very interesting!

Gypsy, I need to shop at your thrift store I shop our locals but never find anything amazing. My pants are almost always levis - they fit my hips the best. I am a true pear - BIG on bottom, not much on top.

I hate that guys can lose easier and faster than us!! Well, MJ, you know yourself best and hopefully that carb monster doesn't poke at you very often. I just can't do this 101% every single hour of every day, week after month and so on. If every other week or so I take a fingerful of a bun crust or 2 fries or whatever, I know I can trick my brain into thinking I was so bad and I trick my carb monster into thinking I screwed up and he leaves me alone for the longest time. Sounds silly I know but I think that's what has kept me on track for the most part.
