Trillex: Thanks for the info. I know my abs will never be six packed and honestly I am so ok with it. I do not want a six pack I just want a little definition. I have been doing a body builder workout and I can all ready see the difference.

Shelly: Yay!!! Oh I wish work was closed tomorrow!!!!

House almost clean and then to the yard for lights until dinner.

I didn't feel so bad when there was 2 of them. My yellow lab, Buddy passed last March and now Bandit is all by herself. So there's that guilt, too. I will have to find a routine that I can do at home or at least till we can get back outside. The dancing was fun but not really good exercise. It's hard to think of anything other than getting my ass home to a nice warm, comfy home with my little girl.

SHELLY: I'll take a foot of snow over ice. That's scary stuff. Do they not sand in your neck of the woods??? We have to have about 2 feet of snow before they close schools or it has to be over -45 F. The coldest I ever remember was -61F back in 2004. Wow, eh!!!! Doesn't sound so bad when you say -52 C. LOL

Bonny, you can achieve loads in 15min, esp if 15min is all you've got! So, 30min altogether with changing/shower. Or, go home in your gear and shower at home to save time but you may find on some days, you don't need a shower. You can also do your stretching at home. If you have a day where you can stay slightly longer, do the cardio and one weight session together.

Three days a week, do a HIIT programme: warm up 2min, 30sec hard, 90min recovery, repeat 6-8 times, follow with cool down

Then do weights in a circuit (on a different day), without rest as you do opposing muscle groups, for example:

Arms: bicep curls, tricep extensions, bicep rope pulldown, tricep rope pulldown - four exercises, 60sec each, repeat three times then rest

Legs: sumo squat, walking lunges, hamstring curl, leg extension, calf raise

Chest/Back: chest press, bent-over row, chest fly, pull-up, lat pulldown, back extension

Shoulders: front raise, lateral raise, press and extension, push-up

This isn't meant to be a whole programme but give you an idea of what you could fit in in a very short period of time. 15min is better than nothing so by getting in these sorts of short bursts, you will hit your cardio as well as strength goals fairly quickly and they are achievable rather than setting yourself up for too long commitments that you can't do. A quick 1-2min warmup is all you'd need to get going and a bit of a stretch after (either at the gym or home).

There is no reason to do a 45min minimum - you can achieve alot by doing a circuit without resting and get home to the fur baby in time!

Thanks Tiggy. I'm gonna have to look up about 90% of what you told me as I don't have a clue what half of those things are?? I spent the first 40 years of my life slim to average so I don't have much experience with exercise and/or gyms but I know things could be better if I just moved more. Thanks again for passing on all that information. I promise to use it, I just can't promise when!!

Bonny they sand and salt etc. But I guess we got So much ice and Then snow on top of that that it's frozen hard as cement! The rd dept is having a Horrible time losing it up and getting it off the Highways. Now we live on a dirt road so they usually don't do Anything to our roads but amazingly they graded our road this morning! It's not great But it's so much better! I still think it'll be wednesday before the kids go back to school. Our school district is over 90% dirt roads. Gotta Love country life Lol!

You don't have to do it alone Bonny! Use the people that work in your gym to show you something like that circuit (you don't have to follow it, it was just to give an example) with machines or dumbells, then you can mix and match as you go. I promise, 15-20min a day will give you results as long as you plan well whilst there!

Oxygen is a good magazine that has different exercises and ideas - they just started printing again and are available pretty much everywhere.

I like Nike's idea, Just do it! (Instead of thinking about doing it :-) )

I hit the gym early today, then ran into friends I haven't seen in ages, leaving me 18mins to do my workout. Threw on my cycle shoes, got my interval app on and did the full session in the 16min I had! You can do it :-)

Oh yeah, country living ... been there, done that Shell. Had too many white knuckle rides home driving an hour to the farm. I used to live in the country but we had gravel and you'd think that would be better than asphalt in the winter but I went in the ditch twice and it was on our gravel roads? Go figure??
Not since 1966 ( 4' in 36 hrs) have our kids ever had more than 2 days off school. Poor you, must be really bad there. Maybe keep the kids busy chipping ice??

I'm feeling rather sluggish and bloated today. Also just irritated and antsy. Hope TOM leaves soon.

I tried adding cheese back in yesterday. I had 2 oz of mozzarella, and an once of sharp cheddar. If my weight doesn't move over the next couple days, or goes really slow, I'm going to go off dairy again. (Except my HWC)

Hey guys and gals. Don't have a lot of time but wanted to check in. Still trying to get into a routine with John being here now. Not used to having to share my computer. I've had my own for 5 years now. Also just haven't had time to post at work either. I'll get into a routine yet. The good news is I'm down to 188.0 even though we had our Thanksgiving dinner yesterday and there are tons of leftovers. I made a 4 1/2 pound half ham, a turkey breast, collard greens, and green bean casserole. I also made rolls and macaroni and cheese for him. Tonight we added some scalloped potatoes for him and cheesy cauliflower and broccoli for me then fried the ham for dinner.

Hope everyone is doing well or at least sticking with it... post as soon as I can.

Sorry, I'm a little late to the party but I started my induction on 12/2. Weighed in at 203.5 which surprised me. I hadn't weighed myself in months but the way my clothes were started to fit I expected over 210. I've had great success with the low carb thing each time I've done it and am always amazed at how my body responds. Also, I swear my mood greatly improves while eating low carb. I haven't weighed myself yet and don't plan to until next Sunday. In my experience, it works best to space out the weigh-ins by 7-12 days so that I see definitive results. Especially the first weigh-in because your body is freaking out the first 7 days or so. I love to jog and usually do 3-4 miles about 4x a week. Good luck everyone and I look forward to getting to know you all!

missy dee:nice little drop there.

Busy this morning that's for sure, got out to work and all is well. gave my body a break after 22 days straight of working out and did not run this morning. Will try not to go to gym tonight either. mom in town today so looks like steak for dinner. It is strange not working out this morning I feel guilty!!! I know my body will thank me in the morning. 4 mile run in the morning then a arm workout after work. If I do not sneak to the gym late today then arm workout tomorrow. Did not weigh this morning, had a glass of water and breakfast before I realized I had not weighed. so hope for big whoosh in the morning. have a great day all.

Nice drop Laura!

Bonny-Jean, there are different types of 30 day challenges floating around the web. You can do them while watching tv, hanging with the pup....whenever you can. It takes anywhere from 5-10 minutes a day for each challenge and will help you get started. No equipment needed. Google 30 day ab challenge, 30 day arm challenge, 30 day butt challenge, etc. They have challenges for jumping jacks, lunges. You name it, someone made a challenge for it.

Congrats to all of the losers! As for me, I feel off the wagon, got run over by the back wheels and dragged for a few miles. I'm slinking back today and hopping on. I won't be weighing anytime soon because I just don't want to face reality. But it was fun while it lasted!
