Today, I found out my scale somehow had been moved about 3" from where it was originally. Which should not make a difference, but I had it on the rug in my closet and when it got moved it was half on, half off. So my weight that I thought was losing was not so much. I moved the scale all the way back on to the rug with a lot of rug room around it so I will definitely notice if it is moved. I am starting with today's weight from the scale this morning. Oh and I did decide to do a one week DADR Induction again then go back to the reg. Induction. Clean out the system and start fresh.

My goals this month are ten pounds or 1 size down to a 12/14; and to start weighing every day and measuring once a week.

11/1 - 180.4

Saying goodbye!

I typed a long post and lost it.

Here goes again.

Started July 8 at 253.5
Ended Nov 1 at 204.8
Loss of 48.7 pounds! I'll take it.

Well I'm a vegetarian again for about 2 weeks. I just felt the time was right. That change threw me into a week long stomach pain. Or so i thought.

Last Friday I went to the ER and 10 hours later was told I had a swollen gallbladder full of gallstones, one 3 cm. blocking the neck. Saturday it was removed.

Doc said it's been 10+ years in the making and a high fat diet and rapid weight loss made it worse.

Well I'm definitely going slow and steady now. But no gains from the switch. And as soon as doc says- I'll be Zumba queen again!

Thanks for your support, and good luck! You can do it!!!!

In this Thanksgiving month, I am sure that we will all have alot to be thankful for.
My goal for this month is 160!
I plan to reach this before the 28th (Thanksgiving), since there will be no carb counting on that day!

mycattaz, awesome job! Congrats on hitting 239bs!

mjgh06, That sucks about the scale but shouldn't change the fact that you've been doing great! Can't wait to see how well you do in November!

SkinnyB212, you are doing an amazing job! I wanted to say too how impressed I am with how you as a person. Another poster on another thread didn't have the best tone when responding to you (maybe I misinterpreted it). But you handle yourself like a lady and still try to be helpful.

I posted on the other thread. But I'm going to try and aim for 10 lbs this month even though that's not what I get on average. I did great last month for some reason and lost 11 lbs. So hoping I see 181.

Nov 1.......191.2 (hoping the hormones get sorted out and I get a whoosh)

Yes, I did notice her negative tone, but as Oprah would say "I am too blessed to be stressed"! I know I was coming from a place of yes & trying to be helpful.

May I join in this month please? I need people to talk to so that I will stay on plan. I'm T2 diabetic on NovoLog 70/30 mix insulin along with metformin 2x daily and it's hard to figure out how to go low-carb while on the medicine.

Thank you so much either way you all decide.

Wow, November already!
So, for the month of October I had a BIG, FAT, weight loss of...are you ready...drum roll.....

One.
Pound.

Wah wah (sad trombone)

I'm at 190 today.
Well at least I didn't gain, right? I'll take it, especially heading into the holidays!
I mentioned before that I am a slooooooow loser (insulin resistant, to boot!). And, I tend to lose like 5lbs one month and then little to none the next, which is what it seems like is happening, so at least there's a pattern! I still week once a week if I feel like it, I'd rather go by how I feel and how clothes are fitting, etc. Although I'd like to at LEAST get back to the number on my stats (185). I'll take what I can get though.

Laura, from your post about thickening on the October thread, you were looking for a corn starch replacement? I have been using glucomannan powder for things like sauces and pie fillings. If you use too much it will make what you're cooking gel-like, but the guideline I was using was 1/4 tsp. per cup of liquid. I just sprinkle it on while the cooking, mix in, and hold back a little of it to let it thicken and see if I need the rest. I actually like the texture better than cornstarch so far. It's all fiber, so I don't think there are any net carbs.

Also wanted to add, I made the Cheddar Broccoli soup from your recipe and added bleu cheese and crumbled bacon, and oh my, it was, as my 2 y/o said "Dee-wishus"

So sorry you went through all of that! Hope you are feeling better!
There are a few folks around here who have had their gallbladders removed, and I've seen a lot of stories around rapid weight loss. Most docs are still tied to the "fat is bad" thing, and will of course tell you that is what caused it, but I know people that didn't eat high fat that still had to get it out.
I wish Trillex was around, she was really good at presenting the more scientific information around these things!
Well, who knows, I just hope you're feeling better, and healing up, and Zumba-ing soon
I don't know how active it is, but I know there is a forum on LCF for low carb vegetarians - worth a look!

What goes up must come down!

I guess I could not hide from those mini tootsie rolls I took from my kids' halloween baskets (6 minis - 12g carb total).

Oh well, I will weigh again at the end of the week and I am confident I will see a loss, since what goes up, must come down!

Nov 1 - 170
Nov 2 - 171

Thank you so very much, I'll look for it tonight after I get back from walking in a little bit - eating supper and reading right now but I need to hurry so I can walk before it gets dark out there.
