Skinny: You enjoy yourself. I would normally be with you on the day. But having the marathon and I am losing over a pound of fat a day right now so not going to mess with the formula right now. I have lost 10 pounds in the last 9 days. I just cannot stop that machine from working with a big ol' cheat day. But you have to enjoy yourself as long as you get right back on then you will have won this battle. It is a long term deal so glad to see that in your post.

Do not have to be into work till 8:30 today. So a little extra time to post this morning, seeing as I got my run in last night. So today will be day 35 of being on plan with two cheat weekends. Have lost a total of 25.2 pounds. If I could have just had the will power to not cheat I may be down another 5-8 pounds. But no worries, cant cry over spilt milk!!! My goal of 140 by the end of the month is in sight!!! Will hit the gym after work for a chest and core muscle workout with the DW. She is finally going to start going to the gym regularly. With me that is even better. She is also running he Half marathon with me, but she is 15 years younger than me and already in decent shape. Lucky her!!!!! She ran it two years ago and did not even train!!!!! Just got off the couch and went and did it. Of course it took her over three hours and she could not walk for three days!!! LOL LOL. This year she is going to train a little bit. Oh well time to get ready for work. Will catch up late tonight. Glad to see every one ready for a success full fight against Thanksgiving day.

OH NO!!!

Just found out my Dr.'s scale and the gym scale at work both show 4 lbs heavier than my scale at home. I guess this means I haven't hit onederland at all!! Ugh, how annoying.

going to really try and smarten up this month!

so.....i guess since i have been gone so long i will just use my oct. starting weight, rather than try to find my last post....but i think i was about 152.....anyway, nov. is always a hated month for me, but i seem to have gotten over the worst of it now....was derailed by annual wine tasting at work in late oct. had 2 big dinner parties, a birthday one for the dh, and one where i cooked for old and new chef...so i have had about 6 days of off plan eating...and of course have been depressed about son moving to the uk....

anyway, now i have been sick for almost a week with stomach issues, so am finally gonna try and stop the s/f chocolate and peanuts....

So I hit goal for this month. Now I just need to go lower or maintain. Since my dh won't be here with us this Thanksgiving and some other family members won't be here also, we decided to forgo the turkey and make everyone's favorite dishes. We'll have everything from ham and green beans to 3 cheese tortellini to potato salad to grilled chicken. I'm also in charge of desserts which is a chocolate cake and lc pumpkin pie. Maintaining might be a challenge.

Avaleigh, feel better! I think you'll be surprised that not exercising won't change your losses much.

Kemp, hope you had a great first day and an even better second day!

SkinnyB212, if I were closer to goal, I might be more relaxed about what I ate. But I've hit a pretty good stride in losing and don't want to disrupt that. My plan is to stick to chicken and the lc pumpkin pie and maybe a bite or two of the chocolate cake. I'm planning a cheat meal later on in December when the girls and I have our annual pizza and gingerbread house building night.

Shelly, take the lower number. I weighed myself with my sweater on and not on and there was a 1 lb difference. The sweater didn't weigh anywhere near a pound so who knows how all that works. If it wasn't so cold, I'd weigh myself naked. LOL

Kemp, that's awesome about your dw! My dh is 17 yrs older and he can run circles around me! He does a lot of training though. I think running our first race together brought us closer. We are planning another one in the spring. Great job on the loss!

Pinkcadillac, feel better! Holding steady when you're sick is a good thing.

Pcaltman, your menu looks delicious!

Shelly, a cheeseburger does sound good! I'm scared to eat fast food burgers because of the sodium. One of these days I might get brave and try one.

Bonny-Jean, I know you're in onederland! You have to figure that with all the use that the dr's scale gets, the readings have to be somewhat off unless they calibrate it often. That's my reasoning and I'm sticking to it! LOL

Ava, I hope you feel better.

Melmis, I use the ketone strips as well. Every two weeks for a day I check every time I go potty to see what time my darkest color is as that is what it says to do in the Atkins book. Then I test only at that time every day. But I can tell now just by the taste/breath of my mouth how well I am in ketosis and it does vary throughout the day. I have heard some say once you know the time of day you are in heavy ketosis by strips, breath whatever, that you should eat at least 3 hours before that time to burn even more fat. So I try to do that. It seems I go into heavy ketosis around 3pm so I try to always eat a really good lunch. For the ketosis breath to me it is like, well if you have ever been around someone with such horrible breath you want to gag? That is what it feels like to me. But I have asked loved ones and to them my breath doesn't smell like that Thank God!

Kemp, WTG on keeping up with the running. You must be exhausted! And I know you mean 240, but you love posting that 140 don't you.

Skinny, this is my 1st year doing low carb so will be keeping it a low carb TG.

Shelly, I would try a new scale.

pcalt, staying steady is not gaining -that's a good thing.

Oh Bonny, maybe it is partial water weight and partial new muscles. Hopefully.

Pink, good to see you posting. Hope all is getting better.

Bulldog, Look at you! Whoosh!!

Here's my little story for the day. My parents and DD are on vaation at Disney since Friday. They have called every night at 11:30 so I know they are okay and tell DD gn. Well last night no call. So I start calling - cell 2rings dead, car phone 2 rings dead, cal hotel no answer, call hotel clerk - he sends security to bang on their door no answer, So now it is after 1230a I start calling sheriff and state patrol to see if any accidents with their car. None Thank God. So my husbnd who never worries, starts packing - we were going to drive down there and start looking. Well a little after 1am we get a call from them - they had decided to stay til closing and just forgot to call, had the cell turned off. OMG like I almost had a freaky heart attack. The go back to the hotel and the clerk had also been worried and had locked their room and taped it waiting for the sheriff to come so they could go in and make sure no one had ransacked their room or worse. My dad was po'ed at me. I'm like well all you had to do was call me. They know I worry and they will never have to worry about being in accident where no one can find them or in a hospital and no one knows them or who to call. I will find them!

November Goal - LC Thanksgiving and down to 175.
11/20 180.2 - restart!
11/21 177.6 - will try to do personals soon. Still "catching up" with everyone. On page 16
11/22 175.4
11/23 175.8 - still on page 16
11/24 175.4 - on page 30 and quickly approaching current
11/25 176.4
11/26 177.8 - I am not certain what is going on, but I think it may be a combination of the LC ice cream and broccoli cauliflower salad. Logging my food today to try and pay more attention.

Still cheat free for 7 straight days! But considering going back to and induction type menu, because I think the MIM, ice cream and too many veggies are sabatoging my weight loss.

So many Whooshes today! You all are making me wish I had weighed today!

Kemp, here's the recipe that I used for the Oopsie Rolls ~
Recipe Ingredients for Oopsie Bread -12

3 large eggs
1/8 tsp cream of tartar
3 ozs cream cheese
1/8 tsp salt

Recipe Directions for Oopsie Bread -12
1.Separate eggs.

2.Beat whites with cream of tartar until stiff.

3.Beat together the egg yolks and cream cheese and salt.

4.Fold whites into yolks.

5.Using tablespoons, put 12 mounds on a cookie sheet and spread until about 1/2" thick

6.Bake at 300F about 20 minutes.

7.They should give to the touch and be slightly brown on top. Too long and they get crumbly.

I pulled the first batch out after 17 minutes, but they really weren't done enough after all, so I put them back in. They did need the full 20 minutes to cook.
Now keep in mind, we haven't had ANY type of bread, or anything even resembling it, in 9 months, but I was trying to find something my BF could use to make turkey sandwiches with, and I really was impressed with these. He's also planning to use them as a bun for cheeseburgers, and I think they make a great dinner roll too. Honestly, I'm not craving bread, so I probably won't eat them much, but it's nice to know that I can if I want to. He's planning to use them to make Bacon and Cheese Sandwiches for his lunch today.

Candid, don't worry, there will definitely be a December Challenge thread. We count on each other to keep going every month!

Skinny, no off plan dishes for me this Thanksgiving, but I do still have 44 pounds to go. Once I'm closer to goal, yes I'll have some off plan treats now and then, but not yet. And since it's just the BF and I, he has to eat on plan for Thanksgiving too! LOL

Shelly, I would definitely take the lower number! I always weigh first thing in the morning, right after going to the bathroom, in the nude. You clothes definitely make a difference!

DQ, isn't it great to get rid of all the too big clothes! We've donated 7 large trash bags FULL of clothes and I've got another bag ready to go. It's a great feeling!

Hope everyone is having a really great day!

MissyDee – We have talked about getting goats for a couple of years. We go through 5-7 gallons of milk a WEEK. I have talked to several people about getting a couple of dairy goats to supplement our milk consumption. I have to know that it will pay off financially though. Right now milk where I live isn’t TOO expensive. Your story sounds like something I would do. Love it!

Bulldog Mom – I love some tuna and mayo. I keep emergency cans of tuna in my desk at work. Also we have a fridge that everyone shares and I keep a bottle of mayo in there. Nice to have around when a hunger pang hits. Look at your progress!! You are doing so great!!

MtherGoos – I really have to try making the oopsie rolls. I think they would make a nice bread supplement in our house. Right now if we HAVE to have the bread we eat the LC bread from the store.

VegasMom – I am with you on the daily weighing. I kind of did the same thing over the summer and now here I am 15 pounds heavier. Ack!

Kemp – Yes, I noticed and I am watching your progress. I really need to get my training going. I usually and ramp up really quick, but I need to quit procrastinating. Because right now I’m not doing anything!

Skinny – I am definitely keeping it LC during the Holiday. DH is not though. I am having a terrible time being strict lately and like to keep sneaking in my LC snacks. I am even thinking of going to strict induction for the rest of the year.

Shelly – I always take the lowest weight, but there are others who always take the highest or an average. You have to do what works for you.

Bonny – I hate scale differences, but we just have to take it in stride. I felt skinniest today that I have in a week and the scaled showed me up 2 pounds from 2 days ago. So frustrating.

Pink – feel better!

I am determined to stay away from the broccoli-cauliflower casserole and LC ice cream.

I think these two things are my jump in the scale.

Actually I think I will follow Melmis's lead and jump on a meat and egg fast through Thanksgiving. That should get things primed for December's Challenge and may even get me back down below my goal of 175 for November and keep me there.

Lori, I love the pictures of your kids! We just had family pictures done, and it's always so great to have all the kids together for that! When the kids were little, we used to go through 10 gallons of milk per week! It was crazy!! LOL But I do miss those days.

I HATE for when I FEEL skinny, and I'm sure I'm going to see a loss on the scale, only to get on and see a gain. That really sucks.

Meat and eggs is definitely the way to go. That's what works for me, and cheese. I can't give up the cheese. So meat, eggs, and cheese. It keeps things simple and easy.

Lori, for us we see them as pets and milkers, so we don't worry about if they are worth it money wise. From my calculations it never does even out or turn a profit, and we've been doing this since 97. We do sell babies so that helps. I had started out thinking they would also be for food - yeah that didn't ever pan out. You get to attached very fast, at least we did.
ANd no you are not insane - We have a 25yo daughter, 23yo daughter, a 20yo son and a 8yo daughter. We are debating about having another - not naturally but adopting.

Yes I was suprised to see what I did. I drank about 7 liters of water yesterday so I was feeling very heavy! Do you do avocado? Or not? Just trying to add a little flavor.

Welcome VegasMom! Daily weighing is good, Just don't let the daily fluctuations throw you!

Thanks for the welcome, MtherGoos. and I'm so inspired by your stats, especially your mini-goals along the way. I need to make some for myself instead of just my final goal, which seems so very far away right now.

Thanks VegasMom! Yes, if I had just looked at my final goal, and realized that it was going to take me over a year to get there, I probably wouldn't have started. But the little goals have really made me feel like I was making progress.

Did you go to the Rock n Roll Marathon that was in Vegas a week or so ago?
