When Ricky was in the states playing, everyone could do a road trip to go see him play. Now to see him play, we have to log onto the computer since you can't get Canadian football on any channel here. Its kind of funny though because on Saturday nights in church, his parents will have the computer going on one of the pews and when something good happens, we all kind of stop and cheer. LOL

Still hanging out at 194, but that's ok, at least I'm not bouncing up!

Today is my day off, and it's food prep day. I actually made my first batch of Oopsie Rolls today. Oh my! I had no idea they would turn out so good. I made my BF a sandwich on one, and he was very happy. They'll work GREAT to make turkey sandwiches after Thanksgiving. I don't usually eat the low carb stuff I make for him, but I did try one of these and was pretty impressed!

Hope everyone is having a great day and is ready for Thanksgiving!

I had the same question

This is only day 3 of induction for me, and I've been torn on the daily vs weekly weigh-in. I think for me, princessmommy makes sense, it would keep me honest as long as I can accept the ups and downs. I've put off my once weekly weigh-in before kidding myself that I'll weigh tomorrow after being "good" today to make up for a "bad" day or two, and tomorrow turns into days or weeks, only to find, gulp, I've gained 5 lbs! Followed by depression, discouragement and totally falling off the wagon. Now my 5 lb "oops" has turned into a 50 lb disaster and here I am. I think daily, for better or worse is going to be the best way to go for me, especially with the holidays upon us.

Shelly, they're just made with eggs and cream cheese, but they make a really nice roll. I thought it was pretty bread like!

Welcome VegasMom! Daily weighing is good, Just don't let the daily fluctuations throw you!

Daily Weigh In

Y'know I meant to ask before why you are all weighing every day. I thought that was a big no-no during weight loss. Isn't it hard on the psychy to see that up and down stuff all the time. I mean, I do the same thing cause I just can't walk past that damn thing every morning but I only record on paper once a week. Is it just part of the "monthly challenge?"

BTW: You look fabulous darling!!

I don't mind oopie rolls but not the best bread I thought. Too light and egg tasting. I want to try the Mr. Peanut bread. I know peanut butter is not allowed, but I was thinking the same thing about the day after Thanksgiving and a sandwich

Kemp - congrats on the new job. Hope things went smooth for your first day

Nooooo. My posts on daily weigh-ins would be so boring. It would be the same for 6 days, then a little loss, then the same..... blah, blah, blah.

Hope you had a great day and yeah, working all day really cuts the time and enthusiasm for a good work out. I used to hit Curves every day when I wasn't working for awhile but now, ugh, just can't seem to get into it after 9 hrs of work.

I may have to try oopsie rolls. Bonny, as long as your posting I don't mind if it's not the weight every day. We'd miss your wonderful sense of humor!

Welcome! I think on your own, daily weighing could be discouraging if the scale doesn't move the way you want. However, daily weighing and being a part of this group keeps me grounded. I can see when I need to make changes with my eating but also know that a gain isn't something to freak out over. Stick with us, weigh daily and we'll be here for you!

For me, I always have a metallic taste in my mouth, and I feel so thirsty all the time.

I also use Ketone test strips. I buy them at Walgreens. In my store they are located by the pharmacy near the diabetic supplies. I use one first thing in the morning when I wake up. I have heard the strips are not very reliable, but if you store them properly, keep them dry, away from extreme I find them to be helpful.

Kemp: Good luck on the new job!

Hi Vegas, and welcome. I wanted to share with you my thought on the daily vs. weekly weights. For me it keeps me out of the mindset to cheat and eat something that will throw me off track. It helps me. I think it will help you too.

Well here I go with the catch up.

Skinny: Thank you and you guys inspire me every day

Lorias:You go girl. I have a half marathon in 56 days on Jan 19th. Good luck!!!

Ava: Nice drop, add some fat to you diet and you may increase your losses. Your menu looked a little fat free.

PF: I know you know, but weight at the same time every day for best truest results. I weight between 6:30 and 6:45 every day. What is says is what it is!!! LOL

Shelly:
Only up .2 today that is a win, considering!!! LOl So glad you never give up. It keeps me going

PC:Looks like a good plan, I love mayo more than you know.

Bulldog:Just a little water weight, no worries

Missy:
You get that 175, I just know it. Your stats are a steady down trend and that is awesome. Thanks the first day was great but long.

Sicca:
You can do it.

Melmis: You got this!!! My menu is so simple, eggs, bacon for breakfast. And pork chops, seafood, or steak for dinner. Snack is a pickle or olive, and maybe an ounce of cheese and occasional proscuitto wrapped around some blue cheese. I keep my calories between 1800 and 2200 a day. Of course I burn between 4500 and 5000 a day total with workouts and staying active. This according to m fitbit fitness walk-o-meter.

Mother goose: OOPSIE rolls, can i get exact recipe please. Glad you are holding steady with the weight.

Vegas:
Welcome to the group. Glad you found us. Sounds like you have a good plan. It will really start to pay off if you can make it two weeks straight no cheating and you will start dropping the pounds. Good luck.

Bonny-jean:
I am not bragging, but I wanted to run this morning knowing I would be whipped after work. Got up at 5 am to run it was 39 degrees and raining cats and dogs. Got home from work around 5:30 still raining. Went to dinner with the DW then grocery shopping, got home stopped raining. Checked weather looked like a two hour break in the rain. Laced them up and ran a quick three miles. Had to get it in to stick with my training schedule. Even took 4 minutes off my 3 mile time!!!

So it is raining again, glad i got my run in. Tomorrow I can sleep in a little bit then hit the gym after work if not to tired. Thanks for all the support, if I missed you so sorry but I am going to bed.

Bonny: Thanks. I am beat tired now. Should sleep great now. I take a multi vitamin for low carb dieters, a pro biotic, magnesium for the old daily BM, some pysillium husk, and an omega 3-6-9. I also drink a nightly casein shake for the amino acids and the overnight metabolism boost. That is it.

Are you dreading Thanksgiving for fear of overreating?

I know I always gain at least 3-4 lbs during the holiday, so I was a bit nervous, since I am on a roll & finally losing weight & just 2 lbs away from my November goal!! Well I have decided not to care & eat whatever I want, then go back to strict induction. I am keeping my eye on the larger picture & know I can reach 150 by years end, which will be awesome for me!!!

Anyone else eating "whatever" during the holidays?
How do you eat during the holidays?
