Well I,m so happy those three days are over, it was hectic to say the least, may even harder by my asthma, it,s cold grey and rainy here, wising and praying for sunshine, hoping to o my decorating outside, and the next five days I'm making outdoor pots for clients..also will be doing a big winter wedding in February, l'm so excited..
Now I have be been gone for just three day and I can't believe how busy my friends here as been, from a new boy friend and a boyfriend moving in, new jobs, size 4 jeans, skinny jeans, losses great weight loss mile stones and the sad news of losing not one but two fur babies and friends dealing with ill health, new friends returning friends just life in general, the one foundation that ran though it all was love and support, coming to this thread is a gift that keeps on giving

:
What you said about this group couldn't have been worded any better! You are such a wonderful support for all of us. I belong to other groups for different things and the support and friendship doesn't compare to the one here. There's no judging just genuine compassion for each other. I like that we feel open enough to share everything and anything. Because we know that our weights can affect everything in our lives and how we feel about ourselves.

Thank you for your kinds words and never ending support! Don't forget to take care of yourself! I bet an outdoor wedding in February would be beautiful!

Just checking in to say hi and send congrats to everyone! You guys continue to inspire me and I love reading about everyone's progress.

All is well with me. I have more days on plan than off plan so my weight isn't going up! sadly it's not going down much either. I'm still trying though!

Will continue to be tough next two months through the holidays. Sending hugs and positive thoughts to everyone! Thanks much for all the continued support. You guys are amazing!

dh lose another lb.. YAY! so proud of him... but at the same time upset that I cannot eat the way I want to.... I miss my sausage and eggs in the morning... it seems the only thing I can eat that doesn't upset my stomach is banana's... sorry I am feeling sorry for myself this morning... I don't do good at being sick

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend..... still looking for a little lose maybe tomorrow.. keep your fingers crossed

Ava, WTG! Good loss!

Bonny, that steak sounds delish!

Trini, you are always so positive and I love reading your posts. COngrats on making goal!

Passionate, I have read on other posts and forums that a cheat day/high carb day once a week does help those who workout with weight loss. I think it's called the Carb Nite plan. Hope all goes well.

Bulldog, Happy dance for sure. You are doing Wonderful!

Julie, that is all any of us can do - keep trying. We all have up and down days. Not giving up is a major accomplishment.

mycattaz, sending hugs your way. Not eating enough really does have the opposite effect of what we think and makes us gain weight. I know I am am eating more than I ever have and finally losing. When I ate only one meal a day I was gaining 3lbs a month at least. Once you start feeling better, you will be right back on track! Just try to keep your spirits up.

kemp, another nice drop!

pcalt, sounds like you have a wonderful husband who really loves you. Glad you have been able to have some alone time. Good drop as well!

I am a little bit up today, but it is expected. I have started my rotation days again. One day strict induction 0 carbs and low cals, next day under 10netcarbs and 12oo or so cals. I noticed some new thyroid nodules last night so will be going to get them checked. Hopefully all is well, may just need some med adjustments. I am going to change my primary doc soon and have a full workup/tests done. I haven't had a workup in over a year and I am sure things have changed.

ShellY: UHHH good luck with that one. I think you were just meant to be at your current weight!!!! LOL Wishing it drops for you asap.

Lorias:
Looks like a good goal. No hurries catching up just keep coming back.

Bonny-jean: Now that is cold!!!!!!!!! I will pass on that. It may be hot here a lot, but as I have said before you do not have to shovel heat.

Got my 5 mile run in today! Whew it was tough. My knee was hurting all kinda of new aches and pains. Every Sat. is my long runs so new pains are discovered every Sat. Today was the left knee. Old football injury, but think I can run through it. Burned 900 calories so that was good. Gym tomorrow morning which will give me 7 days in a row of working out. And looks like monday is a 3 mile run, may take tuesday off. I just want to make my goal of 240 in the next 6 days!

Julie, Hanging steady is tough when you have to focus your time on other things. Good job for having more good days than bad.

mycattaz, like everyone else has said take care of you first then worry about the scale later. Once you start feeling better, your body will more easily want to drop those pounds.

Kemp, Thanks! Look at you go with the losses and the running! You're in beast mode! Take care of those knees though.

pcaltman, I love those spur of the moment dates. Glad you had a good time! You'll be able to finish this month out lower than you started. Any little bit of gain from the wine had to be worth it if you got to spend some quality time with your dh.

MissyDee, I'm like Kemp and so grateful that I don't have thyroid issues to deal with. You all still make it work for you though.

Shelly, sending you hugs! Its definitely some trying times for you but you are always so sweet and supportive. I hope you and your dd can get some quality time in. Good luck with the brownie cheesecake, it sounds delicious!

Bonny Jean, as always, you make me laugh! I love your sense of humor! I am definitely glad its not that cold here. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure we won't get any snow this year since I just bought us all snow pants and boots. I even bought the kids some sleds. Around here, the beach kids use their boogey boards for sledding. LOL

Lori, you'll never get caught up with this bunch. We're just too talkative. So glad you are here!

Had fresh gulf shrimp, grilled with some garlic butter for lunch...Oh so good!!!! And only 500 calories for a pound of shrimp and some butter. Saved room for a big ol rib eye for dinner!!! Love eating on this plan. Not expecting losses tomorrow due to my heavy eating today. I am starving!!! About to eat some homemade egg salad.

Hello everyone -- i'm at work - with nothing planned for tonight. Well, I HAVE to finish my article on the rheumatology conference I covered a few weeks back. sigh. It's already huge. AND i'm going to get rid of a LOT of clothes. Bagsful.

anyway -- i am against cheat days. For myself, because I know myself, and I don't think I'd be able to have just one. And I've eaten this way for more than 10 years now, with very few diversions. In general, because the whole basis of atkins is about getting into ketosis on induction in order to burn fat efficiently, and then gradually increasing the carbs until you can maintain your desired weight. If you are on induction and have a cheat day, you are going to kick yourself out of ketosis, and it will take that much longer -- days - to get back into ketosis and back into fat burning mode. anyway, that's my three cents for the day.

DQ I Know without a Doubt cheat days do Not work for me. I've tried in the past and it's taken me a Week to get that extra poundage off! So it may work for some folks but not me.
Kemp I am So Jealous! Shrimp And a Rib eye! Lucky guy!

My cheesecake turned out ok. Kinda bland so I found a chocolate syrup recipe off of linda sues site to drizzle on top. I'm not sure if I like the cooling taste of swerve yet or not but it can't be any worse then that bitter wang of splenda.

I've never heard of Swerve?? I wonder if it's just an American product??

Speaking of American, did I tell you how much I love the USA. I've been to many states and don't know how I missed your state Shelly?? Been to Texas, OMG I love Texas, a little on the warm side though.

BulldogMom: where do you hail from??

SLOW COOKERS

Hey, me again.

Okay, just went out and bought a new crock pot and loaded it with chicken thighs and wings, lots of spices, can of mushroom soup, can of broth, 2 cans water, an onion & fresh mushrooms. Then I find out it might be too much liquid I put in so removed some. I'm just thinking, why couldn't I have done the same thing with the oven on a timer??? Is it just more cost effective to use a crock pot???

She tried it and did not lose plus she has it in her mind fat is nasty. Oh such is life. At least I get to smell the good things she cooks. It is not warm today I had to actually put on jeans in November no doubt!!!

I find this funny because this is how my husband and I are. He is on a low fat diet for the same reasons as your wife. My husband has lost about 35 lbs and is at goal. But we both had high cholesterol prior to changing our eating and he's on meds. My cholesterol levels came back within normal ranges when it was checked in Oct and he just had his checked last week after being off meds for a month. I'm dying to know his results. But in his mind, if his levels are still high, he will go back on meds rather than go low carb.

Is it just more cost effective to use a crock pot???
The only thing that I like about a crockpot is that I can walk away from it without burning my house down. I'm in and out of the house a lot or get distracted by the kids and animals. But your dinner sounds wonderful!

I live in Virginia Beach. I would prefer to be on the beaches of Hawaii but one can only dream.

texas

Of course, who doesn't LOVE Texas??? Had it not been for a house full of furniture and my little labby, I never would have left Texas. I had the oddest feeling I belonged there. Hmm?? Anyway, every time I've baked or slow cooked chicken, it tastes like I boiled it. Anybody know if I'm doing something wrong or do I just have to stay with pan fried chicken??

[B]Melmis:[/B Post your menu again please. Maybe we missed something. If you cheat even a smidgen on this WOE you will not lose a smidgen. Not saying your cheating, but there could be hidden carbs somewhere. Are you using the ketostix? But the scale is not the only measure as you well know. I see you mention clothes and that is a good measure. Even one bite of french fry can stall me for days. Just fyi. I took me three days to get back into ketosis with one day of cheating and 4 days to get back to the weight before the cheat. It sucks but as long as I stay on plan I lose.
