I do think all of you are doing great. The Holiday's are so hard to get through, but a few pounds either way will not harm in the long run. Keep it up all

Kemp - enjoy your weekend!!!!!!! I am not a beer drinker but 2.5 carbs is nothing for 1 beer.

Well had a good talk with son over dinner last night. He still needs guidance for a long time and we will be there to help him. Budget not looking great though. Trying to get meats and LC stuff to eat. I think I will be having eggs for breakfast and lunch today

Kemp, don't be so hard on yourself. Remember I was 'stalled' for over a week as well. Keep doing on plan and it WILL move down. There's no other option. Just relax and take a break from stress, worry, weighing this weekend. Have Fun, but stay on track! Look forward to a fresh mindset to start next week.

I am back up a little today
11/1 180.4
11/2 184
11/3 183
11/4 184.4
11/5 180.2
11/6 180.8

11/9 180.8
11/10 180.8
11/11 181.8
11/12 181.6 TOM and no more .8
11/13 181.0
11/14 179.4
11/15 179.8 TOM last day

Today is my BDay so I made a cheesecake low carb of course.

24 ounces cream cheese, set out to room temp.
2tsp Sweatleaf Stevia toffee flavored liquid
5 eggs, set out to room temp.
2 teaspoons vanilla
16oz sour cream

Grease two deep dish 9" pans and set aside.

Beat the cream cheese on lowest setting for 5 mins. Add the Stevia and Vanilla flavoring and beat lightly. Add one egg at a time and beat lightly, repeat for all eggs one at a time. Next, add the sour cream and beat well.

Pour mix into pans. Bake at 325║ (300║ for dark, glass or nonstick pan) for 55 minutes. Start checking at 45 mins. If it's getting brown, turn the oven off. When the time is up, prop open the oven door, turn off oven and leave the cheesecake in the oven for another hour. After 1 hour, remove from the oven and allow to cool completely. Chill 12-24 hours before serving. The longer you can chill the firmer it will set.

Makes 12 nice sized slices. Top with fresh whipped whipping cream.

mjgh06, Happy Birthday!!!! Enjoy every bit of that cheesecake because you deserve it!

Kemp, I think you'll be surprised at taking a break from the exercise will do for you. When I stopped, the weight picked up quickly and now I'm in a stall pattern again. I think its time for me to hit the treadmill again.

Shelly, glad to see a drop!

Laura, I'm glad you got the gain figured out. And you're right, you deserve those 3 lbs to be gone!

Avaleigh, Congratulations on hitting a 30 lb milestone!

DairyQueen, Don't work too hard!

Congrats to the losers! For the rest of us, we just gotta keep doing what we're doing. We'll get there!

Melmis, I'm sorry, I can't remember, have you posted your menus for us to check out. Are there maybe some hidden carbs in something you're eating? What week are you in? It's completely normal to not lose, or even gain, in weeks 2 and 3. Your body has gotten over the initial shock of the change in your way of eating and likes to get used to it before dropping more weight. I wouldn't be in a rush to start tweaking. If you stay consistent, and ONLY eat the allowed foods, you will start dropping again.

A sample menu:

Breakfast:
2 egg omelet w/ 1 tbsp on whipping cream
1/2c broccoli
1/2c mushrooms
or
3 eggs with spinash

Snack:
1c. fresh Broccolli with french onion dip

Lunch:
Serving of Crack Slaw
or
Salad with serving of meat w/ blue cheese dressing

Snack:
3oz of summer sausage
1oz of cheddar cheese

Dinner:
Ribeye
Broccolli steamed with cheese
or Bratwurst wrapped in lettuce w/ side of broccolli.

As you can see, my go to veggies are mushrooms and broccoli. Could this be an issue?

Can I be overeating and need to watch my calories?
Maybe you are one of those like me who need to lower your carbs, or something you are eating has hidden carbs. Maybe the summer sausage or bratwurst? That's what hit me looking at the above menu. I won't eat anything I personally can't make myself because I want to know what is in it. If I happen to buy something pre-made, it must show only 1-4 ingredients (and I better know what they are - no fancy named stuff) or I worry and won't buy it.

Do you track everything you eat? That always helps me especially when I first started. I can see in black and white what I am eating as to fat/protein/carbs. Now I pretty much have it down pat and just know as long as I am not eating something new like I did with the butternut squash.

Also if I remember you were just coming off TOM and it can take a while for your body to regroup.

What did you eat on the 12th? And were you able to cut out snacks or at least most?

OH! That's right, thank you MissyDee, I forgot she had posted her menu. As I mentioned before, I would not lose if I ate all those veggies. I still think you might try cutting those out and see if you lose, and then add them back in slowly to see what you can tolerate.

Good evening ya'll! Lots of running around today! Shoe shopping for my girl, it's her First school dance tonight! Makes me sad! I was at the mall and Starving so I headed to the GNC next door to Jcpenny and grabbed a Quest bar. Double chocolate chunk and Man it was Good! Started talking low carb to the cashier Lol! Turned out he LC too so we had a great conversation. Had a grilled chicken salad for a late lunch. Now to take off running again! DD to the dance and grab something for supper.

7 down...3 more to go until my 160 goal!

Finally The scale is moving in the right direction, after stalling for a couple days.
I really think I will make my 160 goal before Thanksgiving...actually, I will aim for 155 now (this way I can indulge & enjoy my turkey & stuffing too!!!) I know my body & I know this will temporarily add 2-3 lbs, but I will get back on track the next day.

Thanks for all the support & advice.

At one point the scale was up 4 lbs, but I knew I was eating on track, so I just drank more water & cut back on my workout & it worked!

I really think watching my sodium has helped me lose a lot.

Keep on keeping on!

My new goal is 155 by Thanksgiving!

Went out to eat with my family last night before my dh leaves for a week. I ate a good meal but then ended up eating 4 bites of my daughters' desserts. Lots of stress here and with the scale not moving, willpower was low. And by chance, the scale went down. Go figure.

Were you doing the smoothies again? I know I've got to watch my sodium intake. I think that's why I can't do hotdogs, sausages and pepperoni without gaining. Congratulations! You'll be hitting goal in no time!

Not having to worry about whether or not I'll be able to fit into a booth at a restaurant, and not having a panic attack if there's a turnstyle because I know that I'll be embarrassed when I can't fit through it. In my shop, I sit on a tall stool during the day that is behind the counter and in front of the computer. There are 2 sets of rungs on the stool, one higher and one lower. I've realized over the last few days that I can use the top rung of the stool to rest my feet on now. I couldn't before because there was too much fat on my legs for them to bend enough to go on the top rung. It's crazy all the ways the extra weight affects our daily lives. I'm also planning to fly back for my daughter's college graduation in May, which I never would have done before. I've always driven because getting on a plane at 300 pounds was just setting myself up for all kinds of humiliation.
only because I know where you are coming from.. ain't it exciting

Ah, thanks Trini! Nice drop for you! Into a new decade! So exciting! I agree, we all need to support our local farmers! Here, in the desert of Arizona, it's difficult to do, but I know when I go see my kids in Kansas, I go with them on their weekly trip to the Farmers Market to buy locally grown produce. It's so much better quality, and it's less expensive. Win win!

Mycattaz, so exciting! LOL

Shelly, hang in there. I was up a pound and a half this morning, but I ate bacon yesterday, so I know it's water weight. It has to come back down, and yours will too.

Hope everyone is off to a great start this weekend!

help with goal

I'm just starting induction - I've been doing low carb quite a while to keep my blood sugars in line, but now am taking the plunge into induction to get the weight off.
What do you think is a realistic goal for a month? I don't want to shoot too high and disappoint myself : )

Meenie, it looks like you're almost to goal already! That's awesome. You might want to make your goal just to stay on induction for the month. We have no control over the scale, but we can control our actions. Having said that, if you really want to try for a certain number, maybe try for 2 pounds per week. That's about what I average and I stay on induction.

Good luck and nice to have you join us!
