Shelly that's funny. my son Connor doesn't even have his permit yet. Talk about lazy, ugh. It's funny how he keeps telling me he is a man. Like so not!!!!!!!!

skinny - I have a girl too and so far she is the easiest. I know give it time. With 3 older brothers she does get spoiled

Kemp - your kitchen sounds like mine. We have replaced 3 out of 4 appliances. the last one to go is the microwave and I am waiting for that moment. I can only use the number pad on it now, nothing else works, lol.....

Bulldog - your still doing good
Jessica - it's awesome how much you have lost so far, WTG!!!!!
DQ - that is so interesting. I never thought of blind people having problems with sleep. That does make sense though. Hope you can help.

Looking for a great LC stuffing recipe. Anybody??????? I was thinking of making a lc bread and dicing it into cube and adding chicken broth, sage, onion, celery. Has anybody done this?????

DQ I do know that most people with Fibro like myself have a Very hard time getting Restful sleep. Not exactly sure Why but to sleep 8-9 hrs then get up and feel like you slept 2hrs sucks!

Kemp right now we use a camping fridge Lol! The Big one is just used for the freezer cause That works but the fridge part won't keep foods cold enough. Oh well at least we have Something! Lol

I'm having a hard time keeping up with everyone!

Congrats to all of the losers! For all of you who gained a little and still hung there, hats off to you! Its so easy to give up but you didn't!

AsmallMe, I hope you feel better!

Kemp, I'm glad you brushed away the frustration and stuck to the plan. More whooshes in your future!

Shelly, I'm hoping you feel better today! Sorry about everything falling apart at once. It seems whenever dh gets a bonus or some overtime, something comes along to take that extra bit of money away.

mycattaz, thanks for the mousse recipe! I might be trying that soon.

SkinnyB212, your pictures looked amazing!

mjgh06, congrats on seeing a new decade!

pcaltman, your idea for stuffing sounds good! Don't worry too much about your son. Life experience and the Marines will make him grow up. Its so hard as moms to let go of our babies. But you're a great mom and your son will be fine.

Wow, I can't imagine a teenager not wanting their license! I made my Dad take me to the license bureau as soon as he got home from work the day I turned 16 and also forced him to give me my first lesson right after supper!

New scales or better working ones for kemp and Shelly!

Pcalt, my son is now 20, but those years were the toughest. He was one that always thought things would just land in his lap without any work on his part. He figured he'd graduate, go in the military, and just everything would be Great!. I continually tried to convince him things don't always work out the way you want them to and you need a plan and motivation. He learned the hard way...couldn't go in the military because he doesn't weigh enough, dropped out of college, so now he's living with his dad and working at a pizza shop. I wish I could kick his butt and get him back in college, but the handholding years are over and he has to learn to live.

My Dh has two older daughters and says they were just as stubborn. Teens just have to grow up on their own. I don't think anything we do or say will teach them at that age. They think they are already grown and know it all.

Here's a sausage stuffing I am thinking about using.

PF he's got his learners permit but has until Feb to take the drivers test! He'd better get it by then!
Bulldogmom it's the same way here. Seems we get a little extra money and Bam it's gone! There's also a big chance that DH's work hrs could be changing next yr, from 12 hr shifts to 8 hr shifts! So No overtime and no days off during the week. I'm Praying hard it doesn't happen though.
I May be going back to substitute teaching. My cousin who is a Teacher texted me last night saying the school is Begging for subs. I used to sub about 4 yrs ago. Got to where I hated it! But we really need the extra money And if I sub I can always turn down a job if I can't go that day. I've got some Praying about it before I decide though

You know, one of the things that I'm really loving is finding new things that I can do with 100 pounds less on my body. Simple, stupid things that you wouldn't think about. As simple as being able to cross my legs, which I couldn't do at 300 pounds. Not having to worry about whether or not I'll be able to fit into a booth at a restaurant, and not having a panic attack if there's a turnstyle because I know that I'll be embarrassed when I can't fit through it. In my shop, I sit on a tall stool during the day that is behind the counter and in front of the computer. There are 2 sets of rungs on the stool, one higher and one lower. I've realized over the last few days that I can use the top rung of the stool to rest my feet on now. I couldn't before because there was too much fat on my legs for them to bend enough to go on the top rung. It's crazy all the ways the extra weight affects our daily lives. I'm also planning to fly back for my daughter's college graduation in May, which I never would have done before. I've always driven because getting on a plane at 300 pounds was just setting myself up for all kinds of humiliation.

Just got text from the DW she bought a scale today online. Wont be here till tomorrow so will not be able to use till monday morning. Of course that will be after a weekend of drinking and the such. At the end of the day it is all bout losing fat not what the scale says everyday. This is what I am telling myself anyway and I do not even have it yet.

Thanks for all the kind words for my rant. I only did a small workout today, my legs just hurt to much to run, so not going to over do it. Will check in later.

Mthrgoos, I would bet those accomplishments feel even better than the number on the scale! Congrats!

Gang, I am frustrated by the scale right now, and my measurements haven't really changed either. But I am going through a great deal of stress right now, with no relief in sight! So I'm just putting my nose to the grindstone and push through the holidays, crossing my fingers just not to gain! Plus its a week before TOM so I know I'm carrying extra water. *sigh*

Alex, hang in there. I know it's so hard sometimes. When I know it's TOM, I don't even weigh. I know I'll be depressed and discouraged, so I avoid the scale completely. I don't even have TOM any more, but my body still goes through the cycle every month. Take one day at a time. Stress is very hard on your body and can definitely slow your losses. Post often and just come here to read often, it really does help keep your mind in the game and keep you focused.

Do you find yourself "forgetting" that you've lost weight? I just wonder if I'll keep thinking of myself as the big girl even when I'm at goal. What a wonderful feeling it must be to know you accomplished all of this on your own! Great job!

BulldogMom, I think I'll always view myself as the fat girl. It's who I've been my entire life. And even at my goal weight, I won't be thin. 150 still makes me overweight, but I feel like it's a livable weight for me. I think that if I make that goal, I can maintain it and still live my life. I'm afraid if I set a goal of something like 120, that I couldn't maintain it and I'd be setting myself up for failure. Plus, I know I've got a LOT of extra skin that isn't going to go away, so I'll be carrying that too. Yeah, in my head, I'll probably always be that fat girl, but I think I'm ok with that.

MtherGoos do you see in the mirror that you have lost the weight? I still don't see it. How do you lose 55# and not see it?

Alex I feel ya. This is not only a slow or stalled month but I've gone backwards and can't seem to come back down. It's frustrating but it will suddenly change and whoosh you'll be going back down again.. I know this so I'll stay the course. I hope you stick with it with us. We'll all get there.

Laura, I think I do see it in the mirror. But I didn't see how huge I had gotten at 300 pounds, so I'm not sure if what I see is very accurate.

I think this goes along with what I was asking/thinking too. I don't see my weight loss when I look in the mirror. So when I hit goal, I wonder if mentally, I'll always be the fat girl. Usually I do see a difference when I compare photographs though, but not much.

yeah others around me see a difference but I just don't see it. What I see is still so fat that I can't see how I didn't notice before. What exactly did I look like before I lost 55#.... ewwww gross.

You're funny! .... that reminds me of the time we had a family function and later looked at pictures and I'm going thru the pics and thought, "Eeeww, that fat chick has the same dress as me" Then someone pointed out that it was ME in the picture. Oh my!! That was a wake up!

I might have figured out my sudden weight gain. I started taking a combined blood pressure pill / water pill. I think the water pill part of it is less than what I was taking before. That is so not right I worked hard for those 3 pounds I want them back.

Packing up for my trip for the weekend. Bringing all my supplements. Not going to have a "plan alteration" except for my Ultra beers. I figure 2.6 carbs each 10 beers a day less than 30 carbs a day. And quail hunting and fishing all day should burn them up. Will be intersted in the scale on Monday morning. I asked the DW to save the old scale just for comparison.

I have lost 20 pounds and still see a fat guy in a little coat looking back in the mirror. It keeps me motivated.

Bad news on the work out front. I guess playing kickball I strained my hammy and will not be able to run for a few days. Going to give it through the weekend off. May run sunday if it feels good. But not going to push it. Nervous that I will gain big time once I stop running for a few days plus drinking all weekend. Does not matter....long term is the goal not just short ups and downs. Will check in with weight before I leave.

Not happy again today with the weight. UPPPPP!!!!! HOW????? Oh well that is 2 pounds over 9 days. Completely unacceptable!!! I am going out of town this weekend with the guys to a private ranch with chefs and awesome food. I think my "plan alteration" will now become a "Plan Altercation"!!!!! Maybe my body wants a carb laced weekend with homemade donuts and cheesecakes. If it refuses to lose maybe that is what it needs to lose. I have never stalled here. I do not understand. I can understand holding onto water for the muscle repair but for 8 freaking days!!!! I also cannot run all weekend due to a strained hammy from stupid kickball. UGGGGHHHHHH!!! OK vent over. Will check in if I can from the weekend getaway.

Glad to see everyone else getting it done. Sorry I am not holding up my end of the deal. Maybe I have just used up all my good karma on this WOE.

KEMP: I'm no exercise guru but maybe your body is fighting back a little and maybe it's time for a little break, mentally and physically!! You've been killing it at the gym with extreme focus on your workouts. Maybe it's just time for a little R & R. Perhaps your body is saying, "if he won't slow down a little, I'll slow him down!" I dunno but you shouldn't get down on yourself. You're doing an awesome job and I think every body will put the brakes on from time to time just to rejuvenate a little. The downward trend will pick up again so just take a deep breath, have a great weekend and exhale.
