Trini: Sweet about the DH and his words. Was looking for Brussels sprouts today with the wife and they had none!!!! Was going to indulge in a few tonight. Thanks for the shout out I am dedicated to running this half marathon and losing some pounds for Cayman.

Just got home from shopping for the week, looks like a big ol rib-eye for dinner!!! With sauteed Jalapenos and spinach.

Warning - just a vent.

Went out to eat with family (mom,dad,DH, DD) tonite. I ordered a Cobb salad with ribeye hold the croutons. On plan and delicious! Well when I got the plate, there were cherry tomatoes and I just didn't feel like any so I started to put them on the side plate. First comment from mom - 'What, you can't even eat tomatoes?' No, I can, just don't want them... this continued with everyone eventually putting down how I am eating with me trying to politely explain the woe for the 5millionth time and finally my dh saying 'they are all a bunch of quacks' and 'she reads those books and listens to the people online and just won't eat like us anymore'...and my mom saying something about 'if they tell me this fork has to many carbs, I'd just stick it in them.'

Horrible evening....love my wonderfully supportive family. end of rant...

Mjgh06: OH I feel for you so much. People just do not understand. It is human nature when people see you trying to do better for yourself it makes them nervous. I have done this a few times with great success, my friends and family keep saying why do you waste your time you are just going to gain it right back!!! It stings but all I can do is prove them wrong. This is the place to vent so you done did good. Proud of you!!! You are doing great!!!

- I feel for you! Some family & friends are like "crabs in a barrel"...will want to pull you down & not let you get ahead! They may secretly resent you getting thinner & prefer you heavier. [When harvesting crab, the crab as a group will pull down any crab that starts to climb out of the barrel in an attempt to be the first out of the barrel that holds them in, hence crabs-in-a-barrel.]
I have had to fake sickness or say I have had dental surgery around certain family or friends who will get offended if I do not eat EXACTLY as they are eating! So in these situations, I eat before I go with them and say I had dental surgery & can only drink herbal tea or coffee!
This is why at Thanksgiving, I have no choice but to give into the "food bullies" and not offend them by my highly offensive low carb life!!!! It is so sad. Would they try to bully an alcoholic into taking a drink, when he says "no thank you, I will just have a club soda!" Then why is it ok for "food bullies?!?!"

I ate way too many foods with sodium yesterday. My appetite has been through the roof the last few days which coincides with the cold snap we're having. My cravings have been bad too. I think its because I used to eat a lot of comfort type foods in the winter time.

Only gain .5lb, I usually gain 2-3lbs so that good. Looking forward to what the rest of this week will do for me. Thanks all.....

A little up today, it happens. After a big whoosh and a huge work out yesterday I think my body just held on to some water to repair the muscle. I am very sore this morning. So today is the start of week 4, 21 days into the plan and down 20 pounds I will take it.

Have a very challenging weekend ahead for me. Going to my best friends ranch this weekend with just the guys. I sent in my food order to the chef, and did all low carb. Usually when I go She makes me homemade peanut butter ice cream and snickerdoodles. She emailed back asking what the heck, she knew we were coming and had already made the ice cream!!! LOL Told here was back on the diet and she said no worries that they had just slaughtered a pig and is going make me some homemade pork rinds, so a win after all. We will be drinking so she is going to stock all the fridges with michelob ultra. Just hope ultra does not lead to drunk that leads to ice cream. Going to stay focused all week and think about it so I am prepared to say no!!!!

MissyDee, some people don't handle change well. But soon you're family will come around when they see how healthy and good you look and feel. Luckily my family has been supportive. Some of my friends who are overweight have made comments but nothing too bad. You know you are doing a good thing and you're going to get all kinds of support here.

Raw Green Smoothie Detox

I will now have to work twice as hard, since it has been a while since my body has been in the 160s (circa 2008...before having kids), so now I have to push it to lose weight.

I may switch things up a little and do "Raw Green Smoothie Detox". (low carb fruits and veggie smoothies, various combinations, water base or coconut water base...no food, no coffee, just smoothies...about 30g max carbs per day.) *check Yummly for green smoothie recipes

I has worked FOR ME in the past (drop about 4 lbs in 4 days). It just resets your system, gives you energy and glowing skin!

I will give it until the end of the week if the scale does not move below 165.

Usually when I go She makes me homemade peanut butter ice cream and snickerdoodles. She emailed back asking what the heck, she knew we were coming and had already made the ice cream!!! LOL Told here was back on the diet and she said no worries that they had just slaughtered a pig and is going make me some homemade pork rinds, so a win after all. We will be drinking so she is going to stock all the fridges with michelob ultra. Just hope ultra does not lead to drunk that leads to ice cream. Going to stay focused all week and think about it so I am prepared to say no!!!!

My mom was like that until my brother lost 250 lbs in less then a year on it... she is not a believer... it still blows my mind that some doctors are still against it too... just thankful we know what works... KUTGW!
