Amazingly I can lose a pound of water or more in 1-2 hours of just sleeping. CRAZY!!! When I took the wife to the airport yesterday I left the house at 4:50 am weighed 251.5, got home at 6:30, took a pee pee and a little number 2 weighed 249.8 at 6:45. So will weigh around that time after I prep food for the trip and ice down my beer. Take care of the nine puppies, feed the mama dog, give the puppies some Panacur medicine(they got the runs) feed our dogs, play fetch with Petey and Scraps, keep the old man Butch from barking to much so early in the morning!!! LOL Busy morning, check back in with weight at 6:45 or so.
I've never paid much attention to the exact time that I weigh. But on some mornings if I go back after an hour and re-weigh, I'm a pound lighter which never made any sense to me. Or if I do weigh too early I'm a couple of pounds heavier. I never thought that timing could play a role. Something to think about.

mjgh06, you look amazing! Congrats on the loss! You've done so well!

Sicca, going cheat free isn't always easy. Good job! And good idea for keeping track.

melmis99, welcome! You're doing great!

DairyQueen, That sandwich sounds so good!

Mthergoos, Congrats on another pound gone! You're going to fly past me into the 180s!

Laura, we all have off weeks in life but glad it didn't reflect on the scale!

Shelly, the whoosh fairy made her rounds! Yay!

Julie, I just bought the hamburger buns from them but was too scared to try them. Let me know if it affects you anyway. I'd love to have an occasional bagel with breakfast. TOM does suck but hang in there and the water weight will be gone soon.

Congrats to all of the losers! I know I missed some of you but I'll be back later to catch up again!

Welcome all Newbies!

Great Whooshes - Shelly, kemp, and Bulldogmom!

Julie - At least it is going down even with TOM.

Bulldogmom, if you ever want to see how the timing of weighing on the scale really matters - weigh yourself every hour and there will be a difference, sometimes really big, each time. I did this one day just to see what time I weigh the least which for me is when I first wake up, and I weigh the most around 4pm.

My weight for the day is the same again -
11/1 180.4 1st scale move
11/2 184 Final scale move
11/3 183
11/4 184.4
11/5 180.2
11/6 180.8
11/7 181.8
11/8 180.8 gotta love the .8's
11/9 180.8

So I am trying my best to get out of the 180. I ate more than I ever have ever yesterday - over 1600 cals. I hope that will do something. I also have really been craving sweets lately. So I made some chocolate pumpkin clouds. I hope it is on plan, don't know. It's 8oz cream cheese, 1/3cup pumpkin, 1tbs unsweetened 100% special dark cacao powder, 1tsp cinnamon-all mixed together and then dropfuls on parchment paper in freezer for an hour then to freezer baggy (makes about 16). It was pretty good but could barely taste the pumpkin, but filled the need for the night.

I sometimes do weigh myself throughout the day. But to see a weight difference when I haven't eaten or drank anything is what is somewhat surprising. I know body fluids can shift and maybe that accounts for the difference. Hoping you get past 180 soon! I'm dying to get there myself at the moment. Maybe sometime next week.

Nice Whooshes on the board this morning!!! WTG BulldogMom, Shelly, and Kemp! Obviously the Whoosh Fairy had a busy night! No drop for me, but no gain either, so I'm okay with that.

Hope everybody has a great weekend!

mycattaz, congrats to you and your dh! It isn't always easy to stay on plan when your routine is disrupted. You're doing so good with the losses!

Laura, you're going to be in 180s here very soon! Woohoo!

Shelly, I did the same thing as you. We've been outside all day getting the invisible fence put up around the yard since our new dog is a climber. We have an existing fence but he could scale a 6 ft fence if he really wanted. So dinner tonight was tacos. I didn't eat the shells but the cheese and sour cream might do me in. Here's hoping the scale is kind to us tomorrow.

Mthergoos, no loss is better than a gain! Hopefully the whoosh fairy isn't done making her rounds.

Kemp, nice drop!

Just got back home. Tired so will check back in tomorrow with personals. Drank about 6 ultras for 15 carbs and had a sausage in the game. Forgot my bacon at the tailgate and was starving so hope all is well in the morning. Also had about 8 roasted peanuts. Did good considering. Disaster avoided!!!! Have no guilt of any kind I worked hard for this day.

Looking for good plans, for the hives and to purchase a good second hand spinner, I,m excited for that..we need bees and they are becoming endangered, we need them for our fruit trees and vegetables.. take care of the earth and support your local farmers.

Trini that outdoor oven sounds Awesome! I've wanted a smoker forever! My Hubs loves to grill and he's great at it but i'd Love to be able to smoke chicken, turkey etc.
I ended up with a lc bar for supper. Nothing sounded good but I was hungry. Lots of water today so hopefully my starving poor food choices earlier won't hurt me to much!

Kemp it's good to have a day of no regrets. And you're right you have earned it!

Trini, I was just thinking today about building an outdoor oven or smoker. I am working out the plans for it - how to build and where I want it.

I think I have unintentionally fallen off the wagon, so to speak. I wrote a post about it on the forum, but will post it here too. I made my Butternut & Bacon Soup. I thought it might be a little high carb so had about 3/4c. It was SO delish! Then I did my research, yes very unlike me. I guess I just assumed squash was LC. Wrong, it is very high starchy and very high carb almost 4x what I had calculated.
We shall see over the next couple of days how much damage I have done. I will take proactive measures though and go on a full scale 72 induction week again - meat, eggs and 1 romaine salad a day.

- no worries. You will still lose. I know how you feel. Back in August I thought I was staying on plan, then only to realize that the liquid NyQuil I was swigging nightly to deal with my cold was loaded with carbs & alcohol!!! Silly me...I did not think about this. It just set me back a couple days, but I do recall I still lost at least 2 lbs that week. Also another time I was out with friends & thought the wings I ordered were on plan. They just tasted too good, so,I goggled when I got home & found out that they were in fact "breaded" & the sauce had a lot of sugar , even though this was not listed on the menu. Many restaurants or chains have wings & they roll them with cornmeal & have lots of sugar in the sauce, so they have more carbs. Oh well. You live you learn. We are not perfect. Just get back on the horse!!!

The Biggest Loser tv show!

Anyone watch "The Biggest Loser" TV show? I just started watching it last week & am amazed at the amount of weight the contestants lose each week...sometimes 7-10 lbs!!!

How is that possible?

Even severely limiting ones' carbs or calories would bring about an average 5 lbs a week.

Just curious

Yea I wonder too... it seems almost impossible to lose that much week after week... I not sure if I could handle their workout plan... being on the treadmill running scares me to death and they really push them....

Down another lb this morning.... that is 30 lbs gone in less then 3 months I will take it

I'm going through my winter clothes and found that I can wear some things that I haven't worn in over 10 yrs. Thankfully they aren't things that have gone out of style. I still haven't really dropped any pant sizes though.

Kemp, you sound like you did fine with the eating. If your weight goes up, I'd guess it would be because of the extra sodium. So any water weight will surely come off quickly for you. Hope you had a great time!

mjgh06, You never know, but this might kick start another good drop for you. Body builders do carb cycling with starchy veggies and get results. You might get an initial gain, but then should see some good losses over the next week or so. Consider this an unintentional experiment for you.

Trini, I love reading your description of your farm and what you are doing with it. I used to live in the country and have some friends that live off their farms in the way you describe. It brings back so many good memories. I'm a city girl living at the beach now. I do love it but miss the peacefulness of the country.

SkinnyB212, The contestants on The Biggest Loser are working out between 4-6 hrs a day. A lot of them haven't been exercising or eating right so being on the ranch is a huge shock to their systems. Initially they're losing crazy amounts of weights. But as time goes on and you see them get smaller, you will see them lose only 1-4 lbs a week while still exercising for that insane amount of time a day. Some of the contestants have gained some weight back because it isn't sustainable. I love seeing their transformations, but know that I could never do it the way they are.

mycattaz, You are doing amazing! I can't wait to see where you'll be in another month!

Avaleigh, you are doing great! Sometimes we hit goal, sometimes we don't. As long as we keep moving forward, we're winners! Glad you decided to join our group.

Trini, your apples sound yummy! Like bulldogmom, I miss living on a farm so hearing you talk about it is fun. Bees sound exciting too. I've never raised bees but always find a source of local honey wherever I live given how good it is for my allergies. I think having a bee hive would be a blast!

Mycattaz and Laura, you are both doing great! KUTGW!

Bulldogmom, I love finally fitting into my old clothes! Blue jeans especially never go out of style! Keep it up!

Mjgh06, I too hate discovering those hidden carbs in things after the fact. No worries though! Minor blip is all! Keep up your efforts!

Sending hugs and good wishes for a great day to kemp, DQ, Sicca, melmis, Passionatefire, Shelly, skinny, avaleigh, mthergoos and everyone else in our challenge!

Had a good day yesterday. I hosted a spa party for a friend who is an Arbonne distributor. Had about 10 ladies over and we all got facials and foot soaks. I put out some fun Fall treats (high and low carb) and ended up eating a little more food than normal. I also had dinner with the family last night as it's harder to skip dinner on the weekends.

Today we are heading to a casino in Charles Town, WV to celebrate my friend's birthday. She wants to eat lunch at their big buffet restaurant (I usually avoid buffets) so I'm hoping I can find something safe. Should be fun though! I love the slots!

Yesterday's food:
B: coffee with HWC, toasted bagel with cream cheese (2g net carb bagel)
L: broccoli cheddar soup from Costco (yummy!!!)
S: SF pumpkin bake, celery and cucumbers with hummus and tzatziki, mozzarella and pepperoni rolls
D: grilled chicken with green beans

Just curious

Hi SkinnyB212
Just about my favourite show, well that and Duck Dynasty . I guess when you have 6-8 hrs a day to exercise, something's gonna happen. Kinda throws the idea that "exercise is not required" right out the window. They follow a very healthy, low fat, low calorie eating program with intense exercise. I used to watch Biggest Loser with a bag of chips and diet coke. Not anymore but still love watching their success. Even they have weeks when they're killing themselves with healthful eating plans and exercise and only lose a pound or two so........

Julie, what did you think of the bagel? I'm almost tempted to break out my hamburger bun. Your menu for the day sounded delicious!

Bonny-Jean, I used to watch the biggest loser while eating a slice of cake or munching on a bag of chips. LOL Those days are gone thank goodness!

Shelly, someone posted a picture of a sign that was very fitting for this group. But it said, "Optimist....Someone who figures that taking a step backward after taking a step forward is not a disaster, more like a cha-cha". I thought it was cute!

Bulldogmom, the bagel was really good! All the reviews said it is better toasted so I toasted it and covered it in cream cheese. It was truly very much like a regular bagel! I was very impressed. Also, I don't think it did any harm. I will try one again once I'm past TOM so I can be sure it had no impact. I'm very excited though at the prospects........bacon egg and cheese bagel, tuna salad bagel, bagel cheeseburger.......... Let me know how the hamburger buns are after you try them! If they are not great initially, try toasting them!
