Thanks much bulldogmom, mthergoos and mjgh06!! This forum has always been very helpful for me!

Congrats Laura on the new place!

DQ, yes, what a cold wet day we had. I don't think the rain stopped even once all day. Hard to believe it was in the 80's last week!

Today I made a big Mexican dinner for the family and it was torture not eating the Spanish rice, refried beans and chicken enchiladas. I normally don't miss rice, but Spanish rice is on of my favorite things to eat! I also made chicken enchiladas for myself without the corn tortillas. It was pretty good with lots of cheese and sour cream. Thankfully I stayed on plan all day and was able to get a little exercise in.

Hope everyone has a great night!

These are not heavy weights and no grunting is required!!!
You are just lifting to workout specific muscles.
All you need is the following:
*about 30 minutes a day on alternate days (to give muscles a rest)
*weights about 8 lbs or 10 lbs from Target/Walmart
*weight training DVDs (any of these are great)
- 'Jillian Michaels shred it with weights' DVD
- 'Biggest loser Power Sculpt' DVD
- 'Personal Training with Jackie' DVD

You don't need a gym...just an hour, some weights & a DVD!
You can do it

ps. I have only been doing these weight lifting DVDs above or selecting certain p90x DVDs that focus on core, abs or legs & can see the results. I only workout 3-4 days a week. I have not gone on the scale, but I am keeping my fingers crossed that I have crossed into the '70s' zone. My yoga pants are loose and my size 10 jeans are falling off. I will be happy with 178-179. (My goal for the 30th is 170). I will weigh in on Sunday.

Mjgh06 and Fluffy, congrats on your amazing progress this month!!

I have this weird thing that I do sometimes. If I see a food that is only available for a limited time, I buy it and freeze it. I don't have to eat it, but I need to know that it's there if I ever wanted it. If I don't buy it, then I obsess over it. Today it was pumpkin poptarts. I think I'm done trying to analyze my brain.

Thanks DairyQueen! You're always the voice of reason.

Mthergoos, Congrats on the new low!

Julie1972, You're doing great! Apparently our weights have to fluctuate a lot before dropping some lbs for good.

Shelly, have fun at the wedding! Take some pics! I bet you're going to look great!

mjgh06, wtg! You're doing awesome!

Trinigirl, don't work too hard! You're body is still in recovery mode.

Fluffy, wtg! You're also doing great!

SkinnyB212, I have Personal Training with Jackie, I just haven't ever tried it. You might have to give it a whirl.

Congrats to the losers! Thinking about some of the ones who might be lurking and not posting. Grateful Love, Kemp, Gail? There's more of you but I'm terrible at remembering names. Hope you all are doing well.

What she said about strength training!!!! Spot on and you don't have to start at the tough stuff. There are lots of programs available that will ease you into strength training. I have me opinions and would be happy to share if any are interested. Now if I can just get my nutrition as good as my training, I will achieve my goals!

Bulldogmom, your comment about pumpkin pop tarts had me cracking up because I just returned from the grocery store where I was feeling tortured by the pumpkin pop tarts and some pumpkin mini muffins (pumpkin stuff everywhere!). I absolutely LOVE pumpkin so I came home and whipped up Jody's Pumpkin Bake from Linda Sue's site. It is currently in the oven and making my house smell wonderful! Since it has to be chilled to be good, I will have a piece for breakfast tomorrow. Can't wait!

What is it about Pop Tarts???? One bite of pop tarts will send me off the rails! I could easily eat an entire box and not give it a second thought. LOVE them, and there's really no reason to! They're evil, just evil!

Congrats on your progress!
Just curious as to how JUDDD works? I googled and found many conflicting plans. Is it calorie restriction one day then anything goes the next? Famine then feast? Does it really rev up the metabolism? You seemed to have dropped 14 lbs in 5 days and this is remarkable.

Anyone else doing JUDDD?
How does it work?

Well I had a melt down when I got him this afternoon..we have a very very busy weekend ahead...it's our Thanksgiving weekend.. we are having a harvest thanksgiving pig roast and pot luck tomorrow, for our farm hands friends and family that have helped us all year, we also invite many of our neighbors (also farmers) as well as our buys restaurant owners/operators who purchase our organic eggs, fruit and vegetables, so last night I started getting ready..I'm an organized person, so all summer I plan and purchase what I need so I go up at 2 am and started some chilly etc..I left chores to be done by everyone's.left them asleep an went to work, got home and they had just started..to then to bank it all...Remember I Made the chilly well to stretch out the meat we have add beans..etc.then to stretch it further I add, pasta and potatoes, but I asked my dh to remove some of the cooked meat put it n a container for me...then add the other stuff...well he did not he forgot..now I'm usually even temper but when I said why he did not leave out the plain meat for me he said well all you have to do is pick out the other stuff...(No Big Thing) omg I lost it, I had everyone running to look at their crazy mother..I think I had it...today..it not that he forgot to take out a share for me, or the comment, it was that I am exhausted, will have most of the running around this weekend..And sometimes they just don't listen to instructions..oh and did I mention..that the "family Thanksgiving will be held here as well on Sunday as well..so more running and cooking..well I'm hiding out in my bedroom and I can hear everyone. Four children, husband, the girlfriends being busy outside..so I guess sometimes it's worth the shouting..lol..well that my rant..
So I off for now..
Thanks for reading. Will try to post again over the weekend big hugs all.

Thanks Skinny...

Here what I got from the JUDDD website: "The two-week induction phase is the most restrictive part of the Johnson UpDayDownDay Diet™ but is necessary to activate the body's genetic response to alternate-day calorie restriction. To begin experiencing the many benefits from "turning on" your SIRT1 gene, it is important to limit yourself to no more than 500 calories on Down Days during this period. Prepackaged diet shakes and bars from Slim Fast®, Atkins®, and other companies can help make sure that you don't go above 500 calories on Down Days during these two weeks.

On Up Days you will be free to eat as much as you would like (without intentionally overeating) as well as the kind of food that you would like. It's important to enjoy Up Days in order to avoid the diet fatigue that often sets in when following other weight loss plans.

Although Down Days in the induction phase may sound challenging, remember that a Down Day is immediately followed by an Up Day. You will never have to restrict your calories for more than one day at a time. You will be able to eat whatever and however much you would like the very next day.

After that, you are free to eat regular food on Down Days. Also, depending on your weight loss goals, you will be able to eat larger amounts. While it is still perfectly acceptable for you to continue eating 500 calories, or 20 percent of your regular calorie intake, on Down Days after the induction phase, many individuals find that eating up to 35 percent is easier to maintain over the long term.

When you have lost the amount of weight that you desire, you can maintain your weight by eating up to 50 to 60 percent of your normal calorie allowance on Down Days. "

I am in induction, and modified it with Atkins and my former woe before the weight gain. I use the Up Day, Down Day but on UD I follow the Atkins 72 Induction plan (DADR) and on DD I fast with water only. Fasting was a way of life for me before I started getting sick and fat. When I stopped regularly fasting is when everything went haywire and it's been that way since. So I figured if I was healthy then, I should return to that woe. Fasting has so many health benefits and can actually work with LCing and boost your weight loss by releasing hormones to cause the body to use energy at a faster rate.

My diet isn't for everyone. For most people it can difficult to fast even for a few hours. But there are more and more people starting to understand the benefits of at least Intermittent Fasting (IFing) with LCing. I fortunately never get hungry and only eat because I should. So it easy for me to fast and then eat LC the next day. I keep a diet journal of everything including how much spice, salt etc. and even on my UD I have never gone over 14carbs or 1200 calories, on average my calories on UD are around 1000. After two weeks, I will reevaluate where I am at and adjust my diet if needed.

Oh and I did check my weight today as it is my TOM. I wanted to see if I had gained some of the water weight back. Nope, down another 2lbs. Now at 184.1. It's all water weight right now. My clothes don't feel different, just the scale moving. I started taking my measurements this morning so I can see if that is changing.

Trini. I'm sorry you're having a rough day! You definitely shouldn't feel bad about losing it. I'm sure we've ALL been there! Sometimes it's the only way that anybody will listen! Take the time to regroup before you leave your room, and come here to vent as often as you need to! I hope the day gets better, and you enjoy your Thanksgiving!

LOL I bought the pop tarts and threw them in the freezer. I won't eat them, but I won't obsess over them since I know they are there. I wouldn't be able to stop thinking about them if I didn't have them. Its strange.
