I can't complain really as I've lost more than I ever have and I've still not been a whole week on Atkins. I actually started on the 29th not the 28th so it's only my 6th day on Atkins. So still a couple of days before I can post results for 7 days of eating this way.

Yesterday I ate out (still kept to Atkins foods) so that probably didn't help as you never know what's been added. Even though I post every day I'm looking at the bigger picture so I'm really happy so far. The biggest plus is that I'm not hungry, you can't beat that!

Hi Kimi,
I saw Nigma Talib (I think her website is called HealthyDoc). She is great but it gets pretty £ after a while as a consultation is £150! A few times is good but when you have to keep going, it got too costly for me so opted for testing at Blue Medical and send off my results once a year.

It took me almost 9mons to get up to six grains and I think thats my good dose - although, sometimes with winter you have to increase slightly so will keep an eye on it. I'm sure you get to your optimal dose in time - it does take a while!

Up .3 this morning... Hate those scales!

You are doing great!
Eating out always causes problems since they add so many "unnecessary ingredients". At fast food hamburger joint, they add breadcrumbs to the burgers, so even without the buns, there is hidden carbs. In salad dressings like blue cheese & Caesar, they add extra sugars, that are not in the store bought brands you normally buy. I could go on & on. The only thing I eat when I go out is steamed fish or roasted chicken or grilled steak. I aways have to tell them not o add any sauces. Even some grilled chicken or steaks are prepared by being soaked in a marinade loaded with sugar, so you have to be weary. The only sure safe bets are Lobster or Sashimi!!! If only we could eat that every day!!!!

Today is beyond crazy for me and I'm having to tell myself to stay away from the carbs! I have a bunch of women coming to stay with me for the weekend and the kitchen sink/dishwasher decides to back up. Waiting for the plumber keeps me from getting to the grocery store. And in between that I have to clean house, chauffer kids around and get ready for the 5k tomorrow.

Happy Friday Everyone! - I like this challenge. It kept me accountable yesterday. Had Buttery Tilapia with Buttery Green Beans yesterday for Dinner. Pork Rinds for a snack while I was cooking and I was good the rest of the night. Hubby too.

I wonder if it's possible to lose a pound a day like I did with HCG?

10/3 - 168

Good morning Everyone! Happy Friday! Down 1 pound. Guess that is a good first step. Just going to keep plugging a long. I wonder if I take in enough calories with as much as I work out (5 days a week for an hour or so; longer on my long run days). I know we aren't supposed to worry about calories.... It is the quality of what we eat that makes the difference. I am just trying to figure out this whole middle age thing!!!!!

Oh working Friday for me today. ugh. Will be posting in a few my weigh in. Haven't touched my video at home all week. I pulled my neck and today I can turn my head so maybe this weekend right back into the last 20 days of the workout. Didn't want a permanent injury. And heck, I own the video right? so I will be able to use it often.

Trini - when I said baking I actually meant "baking". LOL. which means, revolution rolls, fat bombs, or meatballs, tacos, bbq brats etc. Don't worry, as much as I want to, I won't be making anything off plan for a while.

Everyone is so motivated this month!! Oh ya! this is great with all the newbies.

Laura, thanks for the post, I love looking in the food porn blog too for new recipes.

Success with Beach Body fitness videos?

Anyone have success with p90x or other BeachBody products?
FYI this is amazing!
Kenna Shell goes from 210 - 118 with p90x and the low carb eating plan!
This gives me hope.

IT CAN BE DONE

Hi Skinny,
I am a BB junkie! I became a coach because I love the products. I am currently doing Shawn T's new program Focus T25 and it is very challenging. I am also a huge fan of P90X and Insanity, but they are not for beginners. Have you tried any of the programs?

Looking to get back on track

Hi Folks,
I need to get back on track diet wise. I started low carbing/exercising on Jan 1 2013, and lost 50lbs by July. I got derailed on vacation and have just been maintaining[thankfully] since then. I still have 25lbs left to lose, hopefully before the holidays, and I'm sure I can do 2.5lbs loss a week if I count the carbs and continue the workouts. So my goal for October is 10lbs. I'm a bit of a site lurker, but hope by posting here regularly it will keep me focused.
Couple things I need to do is get my bullet-proof coffee on in the morning, shop daily for meals, STOP EATING OUT.

Hi Susan,
I did p90x before and also some turbo jam DVDs after I had my babies and was able to get back in shape after being dormant due to the c-sections. However, I got bored so started jogging & doing some pilates. I usually jog about 4 miles a day (12 minute miles..to preserve my knees). I am in shape, however due to my muscular frame (former high school & college track athlete) I do tend to bulk up. I got discouraged with p90x when I did it last month & actually gained weight! I know it was probably just the water weight from the muscles protecting themselves, but it really stressed me out, so I stopped! Then I see all these great videos with amazing results, makes me think I should go back to the p90x and then just jog on the "break days". I really need to see results, since it is like I have a 'fat suit' on and I can see my muscles fighting to get out underneath. Have you had success?

EATING OUT CARB & CALORIE GUIDE

FYI this has every type of restaurant & lists the calories, fat, carbs on the menu.
...from Applebees to steak houses to sushi bars...they list it all.

It is interesting to see how on a Chilli's or Applebees menu, the regular chicken wings are 10g carbs for a serving of 4 wings. However, the spicy boneless wings are 100g!

It helps to armed with this info before we dine out so we can make better choices.
Itbs easy at a nice restaurant like a Morton's or Wild Fire or sushi bar, to ask for meats grilled or sauces with no sugar.
However, if we are with kids or others who chose the restaurant, we need to be smarter. I was forced to go to Burger King last week. Thankfully they had grilled chicken there. I just ordered the sandwiches & threw away the bread & had a side salad.

This is a great dining out guide.

Thanks Trinigirl for all of the support! SkinnyB12 was right when she said you are such a positive light! Thankfully the plumbers did their work outside and left my clean kitchen intact. Its funny that my sister and friend eat very similar to me so staying on plan hasn't been tough at all. I was scared about going to the Thai restaurant and seeing what the scale would say this morning. Thankfully it looks like I made the right choice. Today is going to be fun if we survive this race/obstacle course.

I am new and would love to join the October Challenge! Today is my very first day on the Induction of Atkins 72. My current weight as of today is 200lbs.

My goal for this month is GRAND and set at 10lbs, but reality will probably be about 5lbs hopefully. I won't weigh myself but maybe once a week or less. I tend to go crazy if I watch my weight. If I don't see a change I usually just stop eating altogether, so using a scale for me is a no-no.

Good luck to everyone!
