That's the only thing that has kept the scale from being thrown out the damn door. It is still safe on the kitchen floor. Barely!

Hang in there! This might sound crazy but proper sea salt in a glass of water helps with fluid retention. It has to be proper salt though the grey kind. I think in the US you can get something called Redmonds Real Salt.

It helped me a lot.

I drink half a teaspoon in a glass of water twice a day.

Its 8am here now so I'm weighing in for today

Day 5 of Atkins

Goal for October 164lbs

1st October - 171.8lbs
2nd October - 169.0lbs
3rd October - 166.8lbs

I'm not feeling so flu like today although my arms and legs feel like lead. I also would not have got through these first few days of Atkins without the low carb cheesecake that I made.

Hi Kimmi and the hypo gang,

Me too! Kimi I had the same experience in London - and I got NT myself and getting private testing done every 6mons and sending them to a naturopath to check. Am up to 6grains now (but had to start Cortef as adrenals didn't improve).

I did hope the fibromyalgia sumptoms would go away by now, but they have definitely improved.

I just wish the weight that went on when I became hypo would come off as easily!!!

Anyway, I would love to hit 75kgs by the end of October. It will be difficult as have a wedding coming up but am doing my dangest to get there so the dress fits okay. I think I need to hit 78kgs for the dress - am 80.3kg today so fingers crossed!

Thanks for the welcome, mycataz. Nice to meet you.

LauraDavis--it has to be water retention. To gain 5 lbs of fat you'd have had to eat over 15,000 of calories in one day. That's the kind of logic I have to use with myself when I have a big jump on the scale.

I'm up today to 235.4 (which is +.7 lbs). I know I ate at my caloric target yesterday which means the weight is either water or the weight of the food in my stomach It was bound to happen, but it still bums me out to see the scale go up.

Not going to let it affect my day--enjoying my bulletproof coffee. Hoping to make some friends here before I head off to work.

Good morning ladies! Happy Thursday. Wrapping up the business week at the client site and will be flying back home early this afternoon. Traveling is tough since I have to eat out every meal. Needless to say, I do NOT eat out when I am home! Breakfast is easy; eggs and bacon. Even lunch isn't too bad; there are protein and veggies in the hospital cafeteria. Dinner at restaurants is tougher. Lots of hidden land mines for sure. I will be anxious to see how I have done the past few days. I know I may lose slower cuz of my schedule and the amount I want to lose, but I guess slow and steady is ok....... Trying to really get the water in.
Have a wonderful day and I will check back a little later.

Had a beautiful weekend. Didn't do horribly. Now I'm back in beast mode. I allowed myself an extra day and had Panda Express. Got some nice heart burn. Right, right. So back to the grind.

Hmmm, scale went wrong direction. But it was my fault. Ate popcorn cause my daughter wanted some carmal corn. Today I am sticking to it. Had my Bulletproof Coffee this a.m., stomach is on swole right now. Brought tuna for lunch. I don't want to eat it. Seems like the BP Coffee really does the trick.

I may only weigh once a week

I'm starting induction over again. I went to an affair on Sunday and ate some cheese and a bite of cake. Big mistake, I weighed 2 lbs. more the next day which put me in a funk. I know it was probably water retention, but I still didn't eat 100% induction the next 3 days and haven't weighed myself since.

Goal- Oct 31 - 173.5

Ok, so going in the right direction. Gotta work Friday (usually day off) so baking and such will be done this weekend. Took, out the ground beef so looking forward to making tacos. meatballs, and anything else I can thing of. I've been eating the low carb bread I bought and it doesn't seem to be stalling me. Was thinking of making the revolution rolls again this weekend. They were yummy. I also made the peanutbutter fat bombs/cups this last weekend. enjoying those when I need a fix. Trying to get back to no coffee I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to be 215 this month. I get so close and then never quite make it. this is birthday month too! not only mine but 2 others in the office, my mom, my niece, my aunt. etc!!!! At least now we do one lunch instead of a week of celebrating every day. Just knowing i'm so close to my goal will make me think twice about what im putting in my mouth.

Welcome newbies!! I don't address individuals but I do read eveyone's post and will chime in when I have something to offer. We know this works. So lets do this!!

My hubby said he would join me on my 10lb challenge. This can be good and bad. It's good that I will have a weight loss buddy, however, it's more work for me, because I have to cook everything he puts in his mouth or he will blame me for his weight gain. Hubby says "you did not make my lunch so I got some mcdonalds" I say "Did you eat the bun" He Says "No " I say "Did you get frys?" He says "Uh Yea!" :-O

Smoothie challenge

I am tired of meats again & only lost 1 lb so far at my weekly weigh-in.
So I am back to my smoothies.
I will only drink my "low carb green smoothies" daily until I drop 2 sizes to a size 8 or lose at least 15 lbs! I hate being obsessive, but listening to Anthony Robbins "Awaken The Giant" he said 'to achieve your goals you have to pursue it with a vicious passion removing all obstacles and excuses for defeat. You have to "decide" you want it bad enough and the "Latin" meaning of decide is to 'cut off all other options!
I know to fit into my size 8 jeans I need to be around 170!

I WILL LOSE 15 LBS THIS MONTH!

SkinnyB212 - Smoothies sound wonderful. I get tired of meat sometimes too.

yeagerdee - Sometimes cooking for 2 is easier too... hopefully it will be for you.
I can't cook for one so I just freeze my leftovers. I use them as frozen dinners when I dont' feel like cooking.

luvleliz - there's a creamy burrito casserole that I make that is supper yummy! From Food network only made with low carb tortillas... I'll post the thread that has the recipe in it in a minute.

Energy22- as long as your getting right back on you're fine. We all mess up.

ValidRouge Yeah it has to be water... hoping I forgot to put my water pill in my pill box for the day. Hope it's in there today.

Hi Tiggy!

6 grains is quite a bit, I'm only up to 2 so far but it's only been 2 months so no idea where I will end. Is your naturopath good? I've thought of seeing someone like this but have yet to give it a go.

For adrenals, I just drink the sea salt and take vitamin c as well as all the B's. I know what you mean about the weight, it's so unfair that its so hard to get rid of. I'm sure we can all do well here this month though. If I can get to 164lbs I will be really happy since that would be the lowest weight I've been after gaining all the excess.

Skinny you can do this.. just remember that you might lose more inches than weight but you will fit into those jeans I know it.

OK I'm a lot bit confused. It's officially my Friday... yes I know the rest the world still thinks it's Thursday but for me it's not. I have gone to bed and woke up so it is a new day... Friday!!!! Anyway I got side tracked, I still have Thursday's pills in the weekly dispenser. So why did my weight go down today without taking the pills and went up the other day when I had taken them. I really don't get it. Here's to even better scale reading's tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!
