Congrats Amber, Bulldogmom - good losses

Laura I just love clothes fitting better. You're going to have to go shopping soon.

Shelly, I know some meds take a week or two to fully get adjusted in the body. Your whoosh will come, just keep staying on plan. You're doing great.

mycattaz, I just so love your stamina. You are my inspiration. The scale will move that is it's only choice. Your body is just probably in an adjustment mode. On your recipe - I agree with Laura -diet root beer, NC ketchup, molasses instead of b sugar.

passionate - I would suggest upping your protein especially when power lifting.

kemp - just kutgw. Your woe is definitely working for you.

DQ - I just don't how you do it - all the conferences and traveling. That alone would make me exhausted. I don't think I'd ever eat properly. I don't think we have a Brazilian restaurant near us.

Mjgh06: Nice going on the weight losses, you are getting it done. And thanks I am going to keep at it. I have looked at doing a juddd combo also as you are doing but do not think I could handle the 500 calorie days. But if my losses slow I will be looking you up for some advice on how to do it with success.

Did my first big day in the gym today. It felt awesome. I did my weight training for 45 minutes and then hoped on the softest treadmill and ran walked 2 miles. It felt like my feet may hold together for this 1/2 marathon, the true test will be in a couple of weeks when I get up into the 4-6 miles of running. But I did manage to burn 831 calories in 1.5 hours, not bad for first day in the gym in 5 months

Thanks for the support ya'll! Hubs and I got to spend some of the day together which was really nice since he's been working Everyday. He even took me to lunch, mexican! I got the special which was chicken breast with grilled veggies and cheese with gacamole. Really good! Managed to stay away from the diet soda and chips and salsa so i'm happy Lol! Grilled pork chop for supper plus More water!

Shelly, you're my hero! I can't go to a Mexican food restaurant, because I just know the chips and salsa would be too much to resist. I do love Chipotle, and will go there and get a salad to go, but other than that, I have to avoid the Mexican food completely. You rocked it!

Mexican food is a tough call that is for sure. If I am not that hungry then I can go and resist the chips. Other than that a tough do.

I tend to throw them on the bbq over a slow fire, wrapped in tin foil with a couple ice cubes wrapped in there with them. I want to get a smoker. Might they should be on sale at this point.

it's gonna be better when I get everything I want kitchen tested and written up... then into a cookbook. Trini I have taken your advice to heart. I'm trying to get organized. Plus I think I just ditched the boyfriend. Once again he's just too expensive and I simply can't afford him, nor do I want to at this point in my life.

Laura: That sounds awesome about a cook book. You are a inspiration that is for sure. You will do great. Sorry about you BF, but better now than latter. I will buy your cook book for sure.

Well after working out at lunch today, my wife had me in the yard digging holes to plant a couple of citrus trees and some other plants this evening. Man now that is a work out. Our great neighbors are moving to Chicago over the next few days. They had lots of plants in pots. they want the pots but not the plants so there you go....Kemp in the yard digging holes for said plants. I deserve a whoosh in the morning but not holding my breath for a three day in a row whoosh.

I would love it! To be able to cook all day and research and plan and just experiment and see what happens and how something tastes... That to me is HEAVEN!

On the BF note... I've been off and on with him for 12 years.... you think I'd learn at some point.

hi everyone -- i'm on the plane returning from san diego.
going to say hi before i try to get a few winks, cause i go right into work when we land.
The Brazilian restaurant was FANTASTIC. my friend said to start with the - well it'snot exactly a salad bar, but it's several bars with things like mussels and boiled shrimp and hearts of palm and blue cheese and other cheeses. OMGosh. Then you sit down and the waiters come around with giant skewers of all kinds of meat -- the waiter slices a piece off for you. Then my friend said to avoid the first cuts of meat- that the cuts get better as the waiters go around the room. the sirloin and ribs were Out.Of.This World. Do you think that i like it? oh my. i want MORE.
But i was very good.
Today - nothing all day cause the conference center food totally sucked. I didn't want to pay for the mexican lunch they set up on the exhibit floor (two weeks ago it was free) - and by the time i went to the haha "Cafe" there were no more salads.
So I was stuck. But I wasn't really hungry, so i went up to the press room and invented a new taste treat. There was coffee (which i hate) and iced tea (really really strong) and hot tea and cut up lemons. So i got a little plate of lemons and some splenda -- sprinkled the splenda on the lemons, and took a big bite. Yummy lemonade treat. Can you tell that I was desperate? YES I WAS. But it worked, and then some friends got together for dinner before my flight. It was at a friend's home on top of a hill overlooking san diego. GORGEOUS. he grilled meat - perfectly, and there was cheese and homemade Thai soup (which I will eat when it's purely Thai- which means no sugar and made with coconut millk... I don't eat more than a quarter cup usually. It was great. and grilled mushrooms -- but all kinds of wonderful wild ones. perfect. lesigh.

HAHA and my friend owns some medspas and BEFORE dinner we went to the surgeon who works with her and i got juvederm AND botox. Man, what a difference!!! I will show you before and after pix in a few days. I feel like a million dollars. I really needed to feel like a million, to - cause my romantic life has just tanked big time.
talk to you tomorrow!~

DQ: That sounds like a exciting time in SD. I am jealous.

Bulldog:
A little bump in weight is nothing as long as the overall trend is down. You will not weigh more than the beginning of the month that is for sure. And what a great attitude about it all!!!

Laura: You are too good of a person to put up with that BS from a BF!!! You can handle it I am sure. Keep cooking up some good stuff and keep us posted on said good stuff.

Shelly: My DW just got over the same thing basically, and it is not fun. I so far, knock on wood, have avoided it. And boo on the slight up tick in the scale.

Down another pound this morning so feeling good. Thought I might whoosh three days in a row, but NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! LOL Don't care it is still a down trend. I expect to stall a bit at some point. But going to keep hitting the gym and working out to keep the pounds coming off. Almost a new month up on us. The stats.

October goal: 264

Trinigirl, love your furbaby! Its awesome that he helps with the chickens!

Shelly, I hope you feel better and can just take it easy today.

mjgh06, WTG on the losses! I'm keeping you in mind for when I hit a true stall.

DQ, Those meals sound amazing! I'm half Thai but the food scares me. I'm not sure what's safe to eat. I bet you look beautiful too! Soon you'll be too busy posting here because you'll be out on the town with a new guy.

Kemp, you're doing great with the losses! Hitting the gym everyday is tough but you'll see some dramatic changes. When my dh started working out, I took me about 2 wks to see the changes and about 3 weeks for everyone else to notice. He says he definitely feels better.

I've been avoiding the scale this week because I know it's that time of the month that I'll be retaining water. Finally got on today and I'm still up 2 pounds, so it's not looking like I'll hit my goal of reaching Onederland this month, but that's okay. If it doesn't happen this month, then it definitely will next month. We'll see what the next 2 days bring, but I don't think it will happen. Plus, I know this is a set point for me. For some reason, getting under 200 is really hard for me. This is where I stalled out a couple of years ago, right at 200. The difference is, this time I'm not giving in and saying forget it. However long it takes is how long it takes. It WILL happen.

OH! Almost forgot! My niece texted me yesterday to plan our skydiving trip! She said that I've earned it and it's time to cash in! I think we're going to try and go in March! I can't believe I'm really going to get to do this!!!!!

160s here I come!!!

1 down, 1 to go! I am 1 lb away from my 170 Oct 31 goal.
160s here I come. I am now dancing and singing along to Katy Perry, "Roar"
'I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire
Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar
Louder, louder than a lion'

I cannot believe it.
When I look back just 2 months ago when I was 200 lbs in August, to now where I am about to break into the 160s.
Thanks for all your support...from sharing recipes, to advice about thyroid issues, to sharing family and "frenemy" stories of those trying to sabotage our diets or unwelcomed comments like "don't lose too much weight!".
This group is amazing.
