Amber: Way to go on that 1.5 pounds down. I will be breaking in the new running shoes tonight. They are some loud lime green, silver and black shoes. I looked fast just wearing them at the running store! LOL Just hope my feet hold together for the duration.

I got busy today so will not be going to the gym unless it is late, but will be walking/jogging around the neighborhood to keep the losses coming. I got plenty of butt and a chunky gut to lose!!!

More sleep more weight loss

Thankfully my 2 & 4 year old are now sleeping through the night. Before this, I would barely get 4 or 5 hours of rest.
My doctor did confirm that lack of sleep actually makes you fatter, as it releases cortisol.
Now I try to get at least 8 hours of rest and at times may take Tylenol PM or Sleepytime Chamomille tea with a truvia.

...from a webMD article:
"When you sleep less, you take in more calories. This can happen for several reasons related to your hormones.

Changes in your glucose metabolism brought on by sleep deprivation will cause your body to hoard the calories you consume, storing them as fat rather than burning them for energy.
Low sleep causes your body to produce more of the stress-hormone cortisol, which in turn spurs your appetite.
And let's not overlook the basic reality that when you sleep less, you simply have more time to eat! Late-night snacking can seriously undermine an otherwise healthy diet-and-exercise regimen.
When you sleep less, you burn fewer calories and burn less fat. Research indicates that a body deprived of sleep burns calories less effectively than a well-rested one. We know that the body burns more calories in REM sleep than at any other stage of sleep. We experience longer periods of REM sleep as we move deeper into our sleep cycle over the course of a night. An abbreviated night of sleep cheats your body of the REM sleep that is prime calorie-burning time. Research also has shown that people who sleep less and still manage to lose weight will lose less actual fat."

My lil boys are so cute...but so so spoiled!! They are loving the low carb life. They follow me around in the kitchen and clean up anything I drop. They really love when I make broth since the chicken isn't the best flavored after cooking for 2 days to use, they get chicken for a week as treat.

Shelly that's what I made for breakfast last night... Love me some broccoli cheddar soup.

SkinnyB212 I know working 3rds your sleep is all over the place and I can see a difference in the scale when I don't get enough sleep.

AsmallerME - YAY on the 1.5# drop... that's always great.

Trini just glad to see you back. Was worried about ya.

Kemp --- Whoosh :jump joy: why can't those happen more often? Love a good whoosh.

mycattaz it's great going through the closet isn't it...I just did a week ago and got rid of all my size 16s and have all 14s and a 13 now. I love to shop ahead for the next size down so I have something cute to look forward to besides I love shopping in my closet to see what will fit. I have a pile of 12s yet which is the smallest size I've been in since I has a teenager. I can't wait to get into them!

Bulldogmom glad ya didn't go up. I understand, one of the truck companies we deal with was being nice the other day and bought me breakfast from a place I love, when I go in they make my meal without the hash browns and bread. So it's eggs scrambled with cheese, bacon, sausage, onions and sausage gravy over the whole thing... they didn't realize it was for me so they put the hash browns in it. I ate around them and shared it with my co-worker.

Kemp I got the recipe off LCF. I googled it and it came up lol
I boiled fresh broccoli, recipe says 3 cups
4 oz of cream cheese (softened)
3/4 cup of water
2 chicken bouillion cubes
3/4 cup hwc
shredded cheese
pepper if desired.
Desolve boullion in water
Add cooked broccoli, softened CC, 1/4 cup of water boullion mix and hwc to food processor or blender. Puree well and then add to small pot, add rest of bouillion/water and simmer. Add shredded cheese and stir
from what I read the carb count is around 4-6 carbs per serving

So I just got dressed for work, I put on a shirt that was in my opinion a little tight. It has room in it! 2 weeks without wearing it made quite a difference.

Laura I've got a bag of broccoli in the fridge with your soup's name on it!
I might switch out for bleu cheese, or just add some to it, as I have a nice big hunk of that too!

Laura I love to find things smaller to...I look at yard sales or Thrift stores or love it when some give me their hand me down..

the scales where the same this morning...

last night I made Dh a pork chop and grind up some pecans to put on outside for breading he loved it... always trying to find new ways to cook his food... keep him happy...

I was not so happy with mine... months ago I have brought some low fat hamburger meat it was so dried out.... will be glad when its gone...

hope everyone has a wonderful day...

Mycattaz - I hate dried yucky hamburger. It's the worst. Can you do anything good to doctor it up? Maybe add some creamed spinach on top? Yummy cheese?

Passionatefire - What did they test your LBM with? Some tests can be off or fluctuate depending on lots of factors. Maybe do it again and see where you fall? Losing some LBM is normal. Was this over a long period of time? Look up - there are two recipes above your post.

Princess - No advice, just hugs. (((hugs))) Must be frustrating to watch the scale tick up and down like that. Have you thought that maybe your body loves this range and might be an easy place to maintain and call goal here? That soup recipe is going on my try soon list. I love a good, easy soup in the winter.

Laura - Yay!! I love when my clothes suddenly fit. I need to pull out some stuff this weekend and see where I'm at. Thank you for sharing your food blog!! I've never seen it before but just bookmarked it. The first recipe for the chicken quesadillas looks awesome!!

Kemp - I love that you got loud green shoes. I love when I see runners wearing those neon looking shoes these days. Mine are in need of replacement and are dull grey Asics. Time for some color. Might be my birthday gift to myself in a few months. We have a new running shoe store that opened up here and I want to go browse around and see if they can properly fit me. I like what I have, so I must be close to the right fit, but I'm just curious about what a professional would say.

Yesterday was good. I just ate too many calories I think. Had a coffee with cream, eggs and sausage scramble, chipotle salad (w/ meat, grilled veggies, cheese, sour cream, salsa), big grilled burger w/ creamed spinach, and a few almonds. Today will be lighter that's for sure!

Laura: I love the blog, very well done. How much cheddar do you use? And when a shirt that does not fit all of a sudden fits with room, is better than any scale loss. To see the loss on the scale is great, to see it in your clothes is awesome!!!

Shelly: Thanks for the recipe, and dang the scale not agreeing with you this morning. The soup looks great. I cannot wait to try it once I get about 30 more pounds off. 4-5 carbs is a days worth so will not work with my induction plan. However it will work once I get into the 220 range. I am going to try and lose the last 30 plus pounds a little slower this time so it will stick this time.

Mycattzz: Sorry scale did not move for you. That pork chop sounds tasty tasty!!! When I add nuts back into the plan in a few weeks I want to get that exact recipe from you if you do not mind. Oh dry hamburger is the worst. That is why I love this plan I can buy the 73/27 eat it and still lose weight!!!

Amazingly I had another whoosh of 2 pounds. Water weight is finally getting out of here. Short work out yesterday and will have a big one today to break in the new running shoes. Trying not to overdo it and blow out all the physical therapy in my feet. I really want to run this 1/2 marathon in January. Well here are the stats.

October goal: 264

Oct. 22…267
Oct. 23…266
Oct. 24…265
Oct. 25…264
Oct. 26…263
Oct. 27…262
Oct. 28…260
Oct. 29…258

8 days on plan and 9 pounds off my fat Butt!!!

Amber: We must have been posting at the same time. Menu sounds tasty. I just started doing my tracking and only ate 1700 calories yesterday and had to stuff that in. I am trying this time to not sweat the calories as much as my normal overly obsessive mind does.

I did post a photo of me in my gallery when I was at my biggest, like 274 in that photo. Even my overweight dog Butch is feeling sorry for me in this photo. Cannot wait till end of November to set that photo back up and see the difference.

Thanks for the support everybody! Congrats for all of the losses! I love seeing all of the furbaby pics! I'm sorry that I haven't been as talkative lately. I've been busy training the new dog and keeping an eye on everyone. Our bulldog likes having a friend but has been a beast when it comes to sharing his toys. The new dog is trying to assert himself as pack leader. But he's smart and sweet and will learn his place soon enough. It just means I'm temporarily spending all of my free time training the boys. Thankfully our cat is dog smart and is dishing out some training of his own. This has kept my mind off of the 5k on Sunday. I'm not prepared for this one. Yikes!

Laura, that's awesome about the shirt! I love it when that happens!

Shelly, I know its frustrating. Maybe its just going to take a little time for the meds to kick in. Hang in there, you're looking awesome!

Kemp, WTG on the whoosh! Forget the things your family says. You are such a wonderful person and I know the mean well. My family has said and done a lot of things in my life that I've carried with me. But they say things that are forgotten within moments of it being said. I'm trying to learn to let it go.

AsmallerMe, your menu sounds so good! Glad you're sticking around with us. You're doing great!

mycattaz, you are amazing! I believe good changes are happening for you on the inside even though the scale doesn't always reflect it. I love your attitude. My scale hasn't changed in 3 days but that's okay. There's no deadline for this way of life. As long as we don't ever go back to the old way of life, then we are winning everyday.

PassionateFire, what's your body type? More lean, more muscular? Maybe you need to up your protein amounts?

Just real quick I'll get to everyone tonight when I wake up.... Kemp it calls for 1 cup cheddar in the soup and then the extra cup to serve on top the soups... is oh so yummy. I made it again already and have leftovers in the fridge.

This is what I'm thinking - I've reviewed my food diary for the past few weeks and I've been getting a lot less protein than is required (was at 125 LBM). I'm pretty solid - wearing a size 9/10 or 30 jeans at 190-195 lbs. The addition of the power lifting to the kettlebells (2 days a week for an hour - alternating workouts) may have something to do with it. It's all very confusing

mycattaz here's what I would sub....

Diet soda, Walden farms no carb ketchup, to make a brown sugar sub you use 2 to 3 tablespoons molasses to a cup of sugar substitute and yer good....

Root Beer Ribs
Serves 4

2 racks baby back ribs
1 bottle (2 liters) root beer
2 tablespoons plus 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt, divided
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 small white onion, finely chopped
1 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon light brown sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh thyme
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Mycattaz: I do not know of a substitute for brown sugar that is worth a flip, or root-beer for that matter. The main ingredient of both those is sugar which caramelizes on the ribs and makes a killer bark, I mean killer delicious and awesome bark. I BBQ ribs often when on plan and just use different types of wood and searing to get a bark, but it ain't a sugar bark but a good enough bark. I am looking forward to any suggestion from anyone also for that substitute.

Passionatefire: I have not said hi yet, so a big o' Howdy to you and glad you are here and keeping me motivated.
