My appt went really well today. I'm suprised Lol! Basically same old same old. Same levels of Armour thyroid and had to get my dexilant acid reflux meds refilled too. Can't seem to keep the heartburn away. And I bravely got a presp for Chantix! I so wanna quit smoking but i'll admit i'm really nervous! I do Not want to gain weight back and use Food as a crutch! So I didn't fill it yet, I need to make a Plan of action!

MtherGoos - Congrats, Congrats, Congrats!

kemp - I totally understand the caffeine withdrawals. I kept drinking my pepsi for two days during induction and then swtiched to caffeinated coffee to keep the migraines at bay.

Oh, Shelly... I quit the week before I starting Atkins and never gained from quitting. I say it's due to eating LC. I had smoked since I was 16 and quit only while pregnant. As soon as baby was born, I'd go get a cig. I still want a cig even now. But the reason I quit this time is because I got scared. I coughed up some black stuff like coffee grounds and I've always been told that is a BAD sign. I was sick at the time so it could have been sinuses, but it scared me enough I didn't smoke after that. Now even though I still want a cig, I can smell and taste the smoke on my DH who still smokes. And it is AWeful. Uggh. So lol..whenever I am really jonesen I go kiss my husband..lol As for the food crutch, Chantix is supposed to help with that. IDk, I never used it though. Never wanted to quit except for pregnancy and now. Maybe keep some extra cooked meat around for hunger issues or the hand-to-mouth issue. On the HTM I used a pen. Chewed up quite a few tops.
So this month, I quit smoking, changed my diet, and gave up my Pepsi -oh sweet Pepsi, miss it more than smoking.

Shelly great news with the Doctor. Chantix is how I quit smoking. I was smoking 3 packs a day when I quit. It went very smoothly. I gained weight but only because I wasn't doing anything but sitting playing a video game and eating. once I realized what I was doing it was pretty easy to quit doing it. You are going in on a great WOE so I bed you have no problems. It's worth it. I was on 2 inhalers for asthma and allergy pills every day. I quit 2 1/2 years ago and haven't hit the inhaler but once since I quit. I have also quit taking my allergy pills. I no longer get bronchitis every year either, haven't had it since I quit smoking. So the benefits are huge!! I have wanted a cig only twice since I quit, once when I was holding a pack for my friend and once when I left my ex and was moving, was very stressful. Neither time did I actually smoke one. Now mind you when I was still on the line at work and had a break with everyone I sat with the smokers and it didn't bother me.

Kemp I miss lamb. My Grandfathers where both farmers and my Dad's Dad raised lambs so we had lamb all the time. Down to lamb burgers on the grill all the time! to Roast rack of lamb at Easter. Miss those days.

MtherGoos slow down every pound you're losing I'm finding! I've bounced up 4# and am not to goal again. This sucks big time.

Bulldogmom you have your furbaby for sure. This is so great. They become like our kids so quickly.

Today is our 10 yr anniversary and I get to celebrate with a 40 lb loss! It would be better celebrating it with a new dog but the dog lady canceled again. I'm giving her another week before we move on. I took my bulldog in for his yearly check-up and found out he lost 7 lbs (he's got plenty to spare). I then realized that when I went on a LC diet, Jack-Jack did too. I'm not eating chips anymore so he hasn't been either.

Awesome Laura! Thanks for the info! It helps so much to hear from people who've used it! My SIL used it and quit after day 3 but then quit taking the pills and started smoking again. I smoke about a pack a day and @ 4.10 per pack here it is expensive nasty habit! My kids have been after me for Years to quit. My Dr said the most often side effect he's heard about from His patients was weird dreams. So i'm Praying it works for me. I worry because i'm home All day right now and I smoke most when i'm bored etc so I Need to find stuff (Other then eatting) that will fill my time during the day.

ShellY: Glad your doctor went ok. Quit smoking!!!! easier said than done, but just had to say it. My dad was a three pack a day smoker for 30 years and he quite about 15 years ago. Got Colo-rectal cancer not lung cancer go figure. Anyway best of luck with quitting smoking I know it is a bear to quit. Kudos for taking the first steps.

Laura: Oh the dreaded bounce, makes no sense sometimes but that is all it is a bounce. Stay the course and it will all be gone soon enough. Way to stay focused.

DairyQueen, I'm right below you in Va Beach. As cold as it is today, its hard to believe we could be wearing shorts again this time next week.

Laura, Thanks! Do you think the gain is from TOM approaching? You've been doing so well so I doubt its anything you're doing. You'll get it figured out soon and then those pounds will be gone for good!

Thanks Kemp! Congratulations on your loss! I understand she is busy with the rescues but she didn't call until 8:30pm to apologize. If I didn't already feel connected to this dog, I wouldn't be so patient. So we'll try again today. Maybe everything happens for a reason and today is a better day for a meeting anyway.

Lost 40 pounds back then and maintained for almost 8 years...then carb creep crept. I've always been low carb, but went hard core again in March 2012.

Kemp - your dinner sounds devine. WTG on hitting your goal for the month!!

Mycattz - the pumpkin spice is for my keurig brewer - I think Green Mountain brand. I seriously stock up every fall so I have it for the whole year. Dunkin Donuts even makes some in regular grounds so you can brew it normally. I just add some heavy cream and it's awesome. Sometimes I put a dash of pumpkin pie spice or whipped cream on top if I feel extra naughty. ha

Bulldog - sorry she didn't show. You'd think they'd be extra motivated to get the puppy a new home. Good luck today!

Mthrgoose - did you go zip lining and skydiving yet? I see you made those goals. That's awesome. Do you have a reward in mind for onederland? You are doing AMAZING.

DQ - that's my philosophy on gifts for kids too. What fun is it otherwise?

Mjg - your stats are amazing. Congrats on hitting a new low!

I live in the South and we had a nice chilly morning today. I love this weather. I'm only in the third week back on track but I feel really firmly rooted here again. It's a wonderful feeling. It's jeans day at work and my jeans are getting pretty loose. Makes me want to go shopping in my closet this weekend. ha! Food wise, I've had sausage/eggs/cheese scramble for breakfast w/ an iced coffee w/ SF syrup, and am about to have a salad for lunch with grilled chicken on it.

Thank you ASmallerMe! No, I haven't gone yet, but my daughter is running a half marathon in Vegas in November, and I'm meeting her there and we're gong to ZipLine down Fremont Street!!!! I've wanted to do it every time we've gone there, but I've always exceeded their weight limitations. Not this year! Can't wait!!

That's a guess on weight today. I forgot to weigh myself before I took my shower. It was 195 with wet hair and last time it was a 2# difference from wet hair to dry hair so I subtracted a pound and went with that. Cuz I needed something to drink my throat is sore. Going to break out the thyme for a tea to make my throat feel better.

Bulldog: A little hump leg goes a long way!!!!!!! LOL glad it went well and happy you get to pick up the little guy.

Well I splurged tonight. DW is sick with the flu so I went to the seafood market and picked up a half dozen blue crabs a 1/2 pound of jumbo shrimp and a link of garlic sausage, umm umm umm umm good. Boiled them up with some Louisianan seafood boil and enjoyed, even have a few left overs.

Today is the day we meet our guy. We're already arguing over names. The kids want to call him "Gator" after the Gator Boys. Dh likes Ralph and I like Gunner. We'll just have to see what his personality is like.

still up this morning....maybe tomorrow it seems I lose a few and them it just stops for a few days sometimes even a week and then it starts again.... 5 days till the end of the month.... looks like I will not make my goal again this month, unless I get a whoosh... I know I mention whoosh alot, but seriously who does not like a whoosh I think next month I am going to set my goal for 10 lbs... hopefully I will hit 239 by the end of the month and then my goal for November will be 229.... we are already planning our next cheat day... it will be Thanksgiving day.... we will be with family... so it will be a good day to eat what I want... last cheat day I got sick eating half of a chocolate pie, so not planning on any sweets.... but I am sure looking forward to some homemade dressing will not go overboard on it... just a serving, but it sure sounds good...

today I am having two eggs with sausage that keeps me full till dinner time and tonight is a stuff bell pepper night... hard to believe it Saturday again... where has time gone?

mycattaz, I feel for you and so totally hate it when the scale doesn't do what we want. Then I remember a pic I seen about one women who changed her body comp but still weighed the same. It was eye opening for me on not worrying so much about what the scale says. If you want to see it click here. Your body could just be building muscle which weighs more. That's how I now think of it as long as I know I am doing everything right.

I know I don't usually weigh everyday, but I have so been wanting to get under the 180 mark. So I weighed again this morning, and I am owning it. Goal MADE! A nice reward for my three week mark today. I updated my gallery on here to show my pic progress. To me, I really can't see a difference, but I can feel it. My shirt size is now Large and pants a 14/16.

Congrats on making it into the 170s!
I know how you feel, since we were both stalling in the 180s.
I am not weighing until the 31st and hope I am at or closer to my goal of 170 on the dot!
