Yeager it's So hard to find an Endo here. I have one I saw about 5 months ago that was really nice but he is So incredibly hard to get in to see! Plus an hr away from us. I called my Dr office today and managed to get in to see another Dr in that clinic. I do NOT like this Dr much at all! He won't do Any other thyroid tests Other the a TSH which if you have Thyroid problems you Know doesn't tell ya enough about what's going on! He even argued with me when I told him about a yr ago when I Had to see him that even though my TSH was "Normal" in His opinion I didn't feel good and he said that you can't go by "Feeling Good or Bad" with a thyroid! *rolleyes* yes you Can dumbbutt! So i'm sure at my appt tomorrow afternoon it'll be another great experience! Pray for me Please!

I will! My daughter goes in next week so she has to go get her bloodwork done this week, which is such a big deal for an emotional teenager. I go by how she feels as well and the last couple months she has not been feeling the greatest, all ways cold, hair falling out, terrible monthlys. I really think her meds need to be adjusted as she is only on 1/2 tab of Synthroid 30 a day. Her weight is out of control. She is 16, 5"4 and 210lbs, my poor baby.

Haven't heard from pinky, DQ, 1morgin, or Skinny in awhile, hope all is well (or maybe I missed their posts).

Okay, I have to post this - first, my mom took me shopping to GW today. And even though I have not lost any inches on my bootay or hips, I can now wear a size 14/16 comfortablly. No longer in 18's, and my shirt size is down from 1x to just a large. WOOHOO! Happy dance.

Second - I made fried cauliflower tonight and my family absolutely loved it and thought it was fried rice. Haha. It will become a staple in our house now. Love it.

Everyone have a wonderful rest of your week!
It has been a crazy week. I try not to go on the scale daily, as I get discouraged by the fluctuations caused by water weight. I have switched to "low sodium" Turkey Bacon, since I was tired of regular bacon. However, I am still on track to reaching my goal. I now know that when I throw in the towel, out of frustration because of the scale not moving, that it does not do me any good. I will keep on going with my eye on the prize of reaching 170 by Halloween!

Kudos to everyone and all your losses.
Sometimes we get caught up in what goal we have not reached, rather than celebrating how far we have come and all the weight we have lost.
Since I started back in August, I have lost 25 lbs and many of you on here have lost 20..30.. or more since August, or maintained your weight! That is something to be proud of.
I am glad I found this support group.

p.s. On the subject of Halloween and all the candy and sweets, I am so gald that many schools, now have "candy exchange" programs, in conjunctions with local dentists. Kids can exchange candy and get money or discounts off of dental work!

Hugs for her! I spent my teenaged years overweight. Its not an easy time. Is there any chance she might have PCOS? I feel like I've always had it but it didn't get diagnosed until I tried to get pregnant.

Very true! We've all come a long way. I wish they had candy exchanges here. I usually throw out candy on a weekly basis so the kids don't notice a big chunk missing all at once. I'll be fine with candy in the house but dh not so sure about.

There is no way my kids would ever have let me trade their candy in for discounts on dental work! LOL What we did do though, was on Halloween night they could each have up to 10 pieces. After that the candy got put up and I would dole it out sparingly. Anything left after about a week I would toss out. At that point they were usually tired of it anyway.

We stopped the candy route when my daughter was six and was already getting cavities. We now go to the local church festivals. We usually get to at least two of them before it gets to late. There's food, games, jumpys and silent auctions. The kids really seem to enjoy it more than they did trick or treating. They still get to wear costumes and have a costume contest. So, it's fun. Some even have horse rides.

!
I agree... we need to celebrate all the other little victories along the way... even when the scales are not moving there is something to be happy about with your way of eating... like how you feel... how your cloths feels.. I know 25 lbs has made a world of difference in my walking and I am not staying sick all the times.. No doubt I have problems with carb food.. feeling so much better

The dog rescue lady was supposed to come by yesterday but couldn't make it so she's coming today. I only keep mentioning this because it really makes me nervous. I usually avoid things that cause me a lot of anxiety and one of them is having people over to the house. Family and close friends are okay but I worry that other people will judge. Its ridiculous but this affects everything from eating, sleeping and exercising. Hoping the adoption process won't take longer than a week more. Deep breaths, I can handle this.

PassionateFire, kemp, BulldogMom - Congrats on the weight loss.

Skinny, you will get there. I just know it!

Laura we all do the same thing. One day we are down, the next day we are up. As long as overall it is on a downward trend I think we are good. And you have been doing very well!

Shelly, it MUST go back down, you are doing everything right. But I feel your frustration. Mine has been bouncing up and down since the 16th. GL at your appt today. Once you get the meds back in your system, you are do for a swoosh.

Weight Changes - I weigh the same time, same scale with same clothes on.
10/5 200
10/8 192.1
10/10 186.4 (TOM start)
10/11 184.6
10/15 181.8
10/16 184.6 (TOM end)
10/22 182.8
10/24 182.6

Oh So stuck on 182. I am happy I have lost so much so far. Just was hoping I could sneak in another drop to 179. I am ketosis though, I did check with the sticks. Anyone have them turn the darkest color even though you are drinking around a gallon of water a day?

Bulldogmom: Best of luck with the rescue group today. My DW and I are heavily heavily involved in a group called Pup Squad here in Houston. We have a mama dog right now with 9 three week old puppies they are so dang cute. We do those visit and from the sounds of things you have nothing to worry about. It will work out great.

Shelly:
praying you get all this doctor stuffed behind you asap. Hope you find a new one ASAP.

Well I had a great Induction meal last night, lamb chops with broccolini. I do love the way you eat on this plan. Being as I am only in day 3 of induction it was hard to watch my DW and sister in law eat the bread but I stayed strong.

October goal: 264

Oct. 22…267
Oct. 23…266
Oct. 24…265

3 pounds in 3 days, gotta love losing the water weight.

Bulldog will be thinking of you today... praying this all goes by fast for you and you will get your fourlegged baby...

Kemp, I have never had lamb chops are they good...do they taste like chicken

mjgh.. i understand I am only 2 lbs away from being in the 230's... will it ever get there...did husband reminded me that I was saying the same thing not long ago about getting into the 240's... so it will happen

Shelly have you meet goal this month already?

I am down another lb... 241... sure wish I would wake up tomorrow with a 239... Yesterday I ate low carb low fat.... just needed a change so ate turkey and cheese roll ups... love them....but today will be a high fat day.... eggs and sausage and later today a hamburger steak.... going to fix it up like the meat I put into my stuff peppers it had such a good taste to it... I am always pretty full after eating breakfast and truly do not want anything till about 5 in the evening... so its only be two meals for me for a while now.... if I do get hungry I usually will do a turkey roll up... will check back in later, have a blessed day everyone....

Oh yea, I got my stair climber in.... I am only doing 10 steps at a time right now.... slowly going to build up... did the same with my bike and now I am doing over 30 minutes a day on it... just lesure ride... on a mini bike but the stair stepper I am scared I will blow my knees out for sure if I start to heavy with it..... might do 10 a day for about a month and then add to it... I can feel it after 10 so its doing something

Anyone have them turn the darkest color even though you are drinking around a gallon of water a day?
...same here. I drink a gallon of water also. Sometimes I think those sticks are defective. I just go with how my body feels and track to make sure that I am ingesting the right amount of proteins, fats and carbs.

Laura, I know you are frustrated. I would be too. But we know how crazy our weights fluctuate. Hang in there and you'll bounce back down in no time.

Shelly, hoping and praying you get back on your meds soon! That extra water weight will come off!

Thanks Kemp! The rescue lady wanted to know if I would be interested in fostering some rescues. I'd be a foster failure though. It would be hard giving up an animal you've come to love. I think there's a special place in heaven for people like you and your dw and everyone else who gives so much time to help animals.

Thanks everybody for the support! Congratulations to all of the losers!

Good afternoon everyone! SO EXCITED today! Had a major whoosh, and I'm down to 201!!! How did that happen?????? I got on and off the scale 3 times just to make sure. Of course, I'm sure it will go up tomorrow, so I'm afraid to weigh tomorrow, but I'm very excited today!

Of course, then I went shopping this morning to try and find some cute sweaters, and that ruined my excitement. LOL Nothing fits the way I want it to. So depressing.

Shelly, Good Luck at the DR today!! I know you'll feel better once you're back on your meds. I'm lucky with my DR, every time I go in and she sees my weight loss, she high fives me and tells me how awesome I am. Of course then she tells me to eat less fat. LOL

BulldogMom, if she's asking you about taking in rescues, I would say it's a done deal and you're getting your new furbaby! So excited for you!!

Laura, hang in there sweety. I know it sucks, but it HAS to go back down.

Thanks BulldogMom, but no, I'm sure I'll have a bounce tomorrow. It may take weeks before I actually cross into Onederland!

Mycattaz: Lamb is very moist and tasty. Although it taste nothing like chicken. LOL It can be gamey if done wrong. The more you cook it the more gamey it can be. I eat my med. rare to rare. With some good seasonings on it. But it is a treat not a normal meal. My sister in law is Head chef at Awesmoe steak house. so she sometimes comes over and cooks us up some tasty treats every now and then.

Mjgho6: ketostix!!!! I love them and hate them. I use them daily after about 4 days of induction so tomorrow I will use for my first time. I have turned them dark purple but that was after riding jet skis all day which is a serious work out you do not even realize you are getting. I drink a ton of water also so I try and stay between pink to medium purple. If I have a hard workout they may get to large. keep in mind that dietary fat from meals can help turn them purple I heard. But it is fun to use them as a motivator, if they are not med purple in the morning I just move around a lot more during the day like stairs instead of elevators, parking at edge of parking lots and walking in pushing a basket etc. to ake sure they are darker at the next test.

Bulldogmom: I know all about failed fosters, I can prove it with my current three dogs!!!! LOL But it is very rewarding charity work. We specialize in grabbing Mama dogs from the pound about to have puppies or already had puppies. Mainly the ones schedule to be put down that day. Cannot save them all but have saved 57 dogs so far this year. We have 9, 3 week old puppies and a mama dog right now, on top of our 3. So if we can get them adopted we will have right at 66 dogs this year, our best ever. Good luck and fostering is hard at first but when you see a kids face light up when they come to pick up their new pet it makes it all worth it!!!

Shelly: let us know how the doctor went today.

Mothergoose: I am so jealous!!!! onderland around the corner!!!! Great work that really motivates me to stay focused.

Everyone keep up the good work!!!! Had a good day so far, on day 3 of induction so lathargic and have a serious caffeine withdrawal headache. Only a few days until I feel awesomeeeeeeeeee!!!
