Shelly, I definitely don't miss those teenage girl years! LOL Boys aren't much better as teens, but I think maybe a little bit easier! I would imagine most lakes would be wonderful this weekend! The town we live in is known for being a party town, and a big spring break town, so it just always amazes me the amount of people who will throw all common sense to the wind and combine heavy drinking with boating.

Hi y'all!

Back from the state fair and I think I did pretty good. There were actually quite a few options there to keep me on-plan or darn close anyway

2 small sugar free vanilla lattes
1 deep fried cheese curd (who can resist those at the fair? Not I!)
1 bite of a deep fried crab cake fritter thingy. They were breaded yes but I had 1 bite.
1 ginormous grilled pork chop on a stick (it was divine!!! )
1 sugar-free lemonade
water

I think I did okay considering the temptations abounding. My older son split with us and went with his girlfriend and their baby, and what he told me he ate, I'm glad I wasn't with him!!! My younger son stayed with me and he had a big chocolate malt with whip and a cherry and I wasn't even tempted, though it sure did look good!

We'll see how the scale reacts, but I think I did okay

Hey y'all!
I hope that I can join in on your successes! Very encouraging.
My 1st time low carbing was 15 years ago. Wish I could say I'm long time maintenance, but no.
1st time around I lost 50 lbs. so I know it works! I have 50 to lose, yet again.
I've just joined a "biggest loser" challenge through my gym. The trainer/owner is fanatical low fat, low sodium, controlled carb, and very anti low carb. So my low carb is my secret weapon.

I've been back to strict low carb for a week. Love it and have really missed it!

I'm looking forward to figuring out the boards.

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for the warm welcome
A lot to catch up on already, so many posts!
DH and DS have been sick, and I have been borderline, so the miso ginger salmon was left to marinate overnight and grill tomorrow hopefully! And the shrimp ceviche too
Today I had:
2 eggs w/ 1 slice bacon
LC protein bar
and another egg and a slice of bacon for dinner
Just wasn't terribly hungry today.
I will weigh tomorrow and see what's going on scale-wise, and catch up on posts.
Going to try and get to bed earlier tonight since DS has been waking up so dang much lately! (he's 2 1/2)

Gina, I have a similar problem at work. Folks frequently bring in donuts and my office is close to the kitchen so I can smell them. Stay strong!!

First day of school for my boys. They are so excited. I didn't even sleep well because I was so excited for them!

Not too much damage done...I expected a teensy gain and got it. Haven't gone to the bathroom yet though so who knows? Point is, it's still down from the 1st! I need to up the water intake...I drank some yesterday but not much. Since the heatwave from hell is over, I may do an evening walk tonight too

Good Morning Everyone!

Here's to a week of losses for all!

September 1 - 232.8
September 2 - 232.2
September 3 - 230.8

Today is my 5th day on induction (started at 236) so I think I'm finished with the big water loss now. Hoping to break into the 220's this week before TOM hits this coming weekend. After that weight loss will be SLOW peppered with gains.

Goal is to stay ON PLAN! Very inspired to see everyone come in and post even if they have a gain. Over time the numbers go down, down, down but it's a good reminder that weight loss is not linear!

Well here I go again. Sorry only lasted one day last restart. No excuses just could not get it done. Anyway hope I can join up again for this months challenge. I am starting today at 266.8. Setting a goal of 20 pounds this month. 10 pounds of water weight and 10 pounds of fat. Looks like you guys are doing great. Hope I lose at the same pace a previous attempts.

Julie - Mmmmm donuts! I have failed so miserably on my lunch break, had it all planned and was gonna round off at around 400 calories but had to queue round too many goodies in the sandwich shop and ended up reaching a whopping 1260 calories - not proud of myself at all!! Especially as weigh day is tomorrow!

Kim - Great losses, keep at it girl!

FitMommy - Induction is hard but definitely worth the work, seems to be paying off for you too

Niki - Amazing loss, you really are rocking your plan!

Kemp - Least you've got straight back in the saddle so to speak.. xx

Lessons learned for today:
1. Bring lunch to work
2. If I have to get shopping on my lunch break don't go anywhere I can buy food!
3. Get a grip!!!!!

Thanks for the support Mthergoos, Trinigirl, Julie1972 and everyone else! Everyone is doing great with their losses! I had a little gain again but it was sort of planned. I knew that another cookout would probably spell disaster so I took it as an opportunity to try out some carb blockers. I stuck to a meal of grilled chicken, deviled eggs and veggies but did have a small brownie and one bite of a lemon square. So I'm up by 0.6 lbs. I can only guess that maybe the carb blockers did keep the the carb damage to a minimum. I didn't drink as much water as usual either. But today I'm back on track. I did my run on the treadmill and then my usual breakfast of bacon and eggs. No more celebrations for me until the end of October.

Hey guys! Count me in for September, too. During the last week or so of August, I told myself I wasn't going to weigh because I kept seeing 236.6 and I was getting super irritable about it. I stayed on plan, but I didn't check the scale. I DID try on pants that I've been holding on to, and they are less snug. Not quite wearable, but less snug. So I'll take it.

I started August at 243. I ended August at 235. I'm not too mad about the 8 lb loss, but I was really hoping for 230...I think this must be part of my "set point" range or something, because I feel like I'm not budging.

Things in my world are absolutely ridiculous right now. Food is where I'm finding control. Work is outrageous for my husband and I..He's stressed to the max and I feel like I can't help him. My boss tried to sleep with me last year, and I should have taken him for sexual harrassment, but I was too intimidated by the repercussions. He hasn't made any advances, but he's being extremely passive aggressive right now, and he also works closely to my husband, so Nick is reaping the benefits of boss-mans snarkiness, too.

We are in the process of moving so I can continue my Masters in literature...which means new jobs, new apartment, new everything--which will only benefit us. BUT, that all takes a lot of planning, and there's very little time for it at this point because our schedules are out of synch..so it's like the looming stressor over our heads..and I feel powerless and stressed out about it. WL wise, I'm on plan and focused..but everywhere else I'm feeling defeated and angry. Ugh. I need to suck it up and not throw a pity party, so I'm done complaining for the day.

I'm so thankful that this forum is here. LCF is like the strongest reminder that support and growth is out there. I'm so proud of all of you guys, and I'm so grateful that you offer continuous support. I know I get lost in the world sometimes and my check ins aren't as regular as they could be...but I'm consistently reading and sending positive vibes outward all the way. Seriously. Thanks, guys.

Well today I went to Costco and bought 80.00 worth of candy. It's ok... I'm selling it at work to pad my vacation fund. I have no desire to eat any of it. I think it looks much better when in someone else's hand and mouth than on my tummy and hips. Besides the dollar in the vacation fund rocks!

I fell off the wagon in August and am jumping back on in September! I traveled a ton for work and just couldn't keep up with the right food choices. So, I plan to kick butt for September

Goal = 169.2 - that will be 10% from the start
