First started Atkins April 1, 2002.
Lost 40 pounds back then and maintained for almost 8 years...then carb creep crept. I've always been low carb, but went hard core again in March 2012.

With blown out knees and everything. Here's to hoping it sticks... Lol! However my huge date weekend is here tomorrow. So- no regrets. I might be back at square 1- well- 5 pounds maybe...come Tuesday morning. That just means I have work to do. I'm not stopping life. Just pausing.

I won't handle all dates this way- just the first one. We meet for the first time!!!

I ment to ask earlier but forgot but does anyone know anything about Seborric dermatitis? My daughter has it and while her dermo dr says it's Not from gluten i'm thinking that maybe it is a sign of intolerance. She has keritosis (chicken skin) and has had problems with constipation for years. I'm going to research it more.

Shelly, I've never heard of that, but, with 6 kids, one thing that I have learned is to trust your instincts and don't take what the doctors say as gospel. Research it yourself, and get a 2nd opinion if you need to.

Trini, how are you doing? PLEASE slow down and take care of yourself.

Hope everyone is having a GREAT day! I'm avoiding the scale right now. This is that time of month that it seems to bounce up a lot and so I'm avoiding the drama by just avoiding the scale. LOL

whatcha going to do?
shelly - i know a little about it- it's a skin irritation or disorder-- and it is usually chronic - which means that you should be able to control it but it could come back any time. Where is it? on her scalp or other parts of her body? She'll get some anti-itch creams and potions. Is she very uncomfortable?

DQ she has it on the back of her neck and scalp under her hair. She had Horrendous cradle cap as a baby and we battled it like mad! It itches like crazy and is embarrasing for her because she has the bad dandruff too. She has Incredibly thick and Very curly hair! Her dermo gave her a presp for a shampoo and an ointment to use along with alternating between that shampoo, head and shoulders and selsun blue. So that's the plan for now. I would love for her to go gluten free anyway (along with rest of family too) and i'm slowly working on it.

This weekend is full of stuff since Sunday is my daughters 13th Birthday! Tomorrow we're hitting resale shops and she's getting her hair Hi-lighted for the first time with my SIL. Then sunday we've got a busy day at church. Lunch saturday and sunday! Which as we know from Last saturday threw me for a loop so i'm Praying I can stay on track this weekend!

That's what I was wondering Laura! Where is everyone? Heard from Hubby a few hrs ago and they were in Iowa! So about 1/2 way to their destination. My girl Loved her suprise at school today! He's suppose to be moving here. Just life keeps happening and everything is delaying him gettin here it's driving me batty. I'm overeating, it's all on plan but way too much food and it's showing on the scale... It's making me sick.

I was hoping to reach 180 this month, but I am elated that I stopped stalling & lost 4 lbs to reach 184! Thanks for all the advice regarding almond milk & cheese. I also switched to low sodium bacon. My goal is to get to 170 in October!

Good Morning Everyone! Still no word from Trini? I hope she's doing ok.

Still avoiding the scale. Just tired of the bounces so I'm hoping if I wait a while, maybe I'll see a good bounce.

I'm sort of feeling the need to shake things up a bit. I've been on induction for 7 straight months now, with no cheats, and I'm a little worried that maybe my body is getting complacent and used to what I'm doing. I'm thinking maybe there's something I should do to shake things up a bit, but I don't know what it would be. Ideas????? Or should I just stay consistent and keep doing what I'm doing?

If you eat just veggies for a couple days, that should get things going again. I did & it worked for me. Here is what I ate for 2 days:

Breakfast
"green smoothie"
water, 1 tsp heavy cream, avocado, spinach & whey protein power.

Lunch
Salad with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, avocado
Olive oil & vinegar dressing

Snack
20 pistacios

Dinner
Steamed or stir fry Spinach or Kale with mushrooms, peppers, onions

Snack
20 cashews
Herbal tea with Splenda or agave

MtherGoos, I'll eat a little bit higher carb count for a day or two and then back to normal that seems to shake things up a bit.

Laura, I was actually thinking about that, but I'm just so scared to add the carbs! LOL I know, I'm an idiot. This is trial and error, finding what works for my body. I should just do it and see what happens. What kinds of carbs do you add in? Mostly veggies?
