OK sausage always gets me, but it,s an easy meal when you are feeding 15 people, local pork sausage from one of our neighbors with home grown kale and home grown potatoes, I did not eat the potatoes but the salt in the sausage always gets me I should have done like DQ and not jumped on the scale this morning as I got up thirsty and my face and ankles feel bloated.. we got a lot done yesterday...my good friend and my mother in law. Help me with the cooking..we did a brunch first of bacon, eggs, tomatoes, peaches, and toast, then cooked the kale, and the kitchen clean up...today is another do over..

Laura you are so close. So Close. Today or Tomorrow for sure. Laura you can share some of those DD girls with me I small on top and that's where I lose first.first
Shelly I am so happy for you it hard in farm country even when there is two jobs.
1morgin you are just shrinking, even with not sleeping..wow I'm impressed.
Mycattaz, you are so brave to share your story with us, I know this time it will work, because you have support at home and now you are here with us..we will be your cheer leaders.you can do this for your health and wellbeing.

Mthergoos, yes this weekend is exhausting, but fun and rewarding at the same time..you re doing great, your eating plan is so simple and it is working for you.

DQ, I loved the bra rant,I need as much padding as possible, at a 34 b hahaha, we are all so different but wonderfully made.

Bulldogmom way to go, I love that you take the time to write us all and keep us motivated..

Niki and Kaillean congrats on the loss. I m so happy for you both.:-)
Tiara I think it,s quite an feat to give up diet soda, or coffee, because you know it makes for better health.. I think you are doing really well.

Kemp your post are always motivating, contests on the weight loss..

Pink next time we need a hand on the farm I know where to reach you.

I don't do cream very often but a cup or two with a little Kerrygold butter really saves my bacon on this plan. Mmmmm......bacon.

I've had a brilliant idea for losing inches by using those space saver bags. I just need a friend to zip me up and turn on the vacuum. It works for my fluffy sweaters right?! Hang in there everybody, only one more day in this weekend to get through!

Mycattaz, thanks for sharing your story! What you've been through and overcome thus far is incredible! You are an inspiration! I know you'll reach your goal.

1moregin, wow! You are killing it!

Laura, you're doing amazing! Onederland is coming your way! No doubt in my mind you'll be there this week!

Shelly, I'm so glad your dh gets to go on his trip! I know what you mean about being a sahm. I used to be a respiratory therapist until I quit to have kids. I haven't worked in almost 10 yrs and I do miss it even though I've enjoyed being here for the kids.

IndieKim, whoosh!!! Congrats! You are doing great!

Trinigirl, I know you'll get that water weight off in no time! You are the one keeping all of us motivated! As busy as you are, you still take time to come and cheer the rest of us on. Thank you for that!

FitMommyNow, TOM can really wreck havoc on the scale. Good job for hanging in there! I do caffeine with no problems. I think its an individual thing.

Wow! So much to catch up on! It is very exciting and motivational to read how well everyone is doing this month!

Shelly, I'm so happy your hubby gets to go his fishing trip! Very happy for him!

I leave on a work trip tomorrow morning and will be gone for 3 weeks. I will really miss my family but I will also really miss the scale! I'm a daily weigher and for me it helps me stay in check (most of the time). I plan to try to return to strict induction while I'm gone since I've been in more of a maintenance mode the last few months. Would love to get down to 160 and then switch back to a maintenance lifestyle.

Will keep reading and check in when I can! Stay strong and stay on plan!

Weight all over the place so far this month thanks to TOM......

9/4: 172.2

So here's a question,

I am half way to my goal, so of course I have had my share of falling of the atkins wagon.. However when I do, I feel awful and no energy, really bad GI problems ect ect....And each time I dust myself off and start anew back on plan sure that I wont make that mistake again .... I do .... why???? .. when on plan I dream of food and think of how things will taste... and when off plan I am miserable and thinking I need to get on plan... what is wrong with me.. Am I so in love with food that I will damage myself over it? any thoughts???

I think that's true for most of us here. Changing our way of life, our way of eating, is much more a mental game than a physical one. However I've definitely found that the longer I stay with this, the longer I stay completely on plan and make it a lifestyle change, the easier it gets. Not that we'll ever stop wanting the fries, or ice cream, or whatever, but it's easier to tame that beast and walk away from it.

I finally realized that I was behaving like a 2 year old. Wanting to eat what I wanted to eat, when I wanted to eat it, and I had to stop that. For my overall health, I had to get control and quit giving in to my inner 2 year old. I don't even think of giving up or cheating as an option. It's just not. I have to be the adult and be in control of what goes into my mouth, and not give in to what I want, just because I want it.

It's definitely a mental challenge, but I know we all have it within ourselves to take control of our lives and our health. Not to behave like a spoiled 2 year old any more by just eating whatever I want, but to be control of what goes into my body.

ticker9400 - something I've mentioned before, addicts when they get clean have dreams of using. It's part of the process. They are awful dreams to where you know you can't use but no matter what you think you do it. Sugar and carbs in general are addictive. The dreams are a natural part of our brain lettin go I think. At least it makes sense to me.

Julie have a great trip.

It's official I'm claiming it! I've now lost 45#!

6/8 - 200.8
6/7 - 201.4
9/6 - 202.4
9/5 - 202.2
9/4 - 201.2 WHOOSH BABY WHOOSH!

Thanks Laura. Congrats on 45!!!! Awesome

Being a food addict makes sense to me too....it's hard to look at myself that way but I think it's true, first step to recovery is to admit you have a problem...so I've heard anyway

Ticker,
What Mthrgoos sed.
Fight the urge to go off plan.
I never ever ever go off plan, because I know that it is a dead end. It serves zero purpose. Why sabotage yourself, because that's what it is.
Sabotaging your woe equals gaining weight. Why would you ever want to do that? If your brain is responsible, take charge of your brain. You are in charge. If you let your brain sabotage you, you will never lose the weight. You will fail. You will stay fat. This is how it works. Your brain is smarter than you are, and you must outwit it. Cheats only keep you fat. Your own beautiful inner you must take over, and prevail. For me, there are no cheats, because they are evil weaknesses, and i won't let them in my sight. (Just a clue)

Laura - 45 lbs!!! Congratulations. You are doing great. You should be so proud of yourself. Sticking with it and getting that far really is an amazing accomplishment. You can go all the way!!

I'm feeling good tonight. I just don't know what is wrong with my brain that I go off plan. Why would I when the food is so amazing.

Tonight's dinner: filet of wild, local sockeye salmon with hollandaise sauce, steamed asparagus, and mushroom sauteed in butter with herbs and garlic. OMG!! SO GOOD!

Even cooked potatoes for the rest of the family and was not tempted at all. Nor by the big loaf of crusty French bread.

Six days down and feeling really strong. So much better than the vat of junk food I've been wallowing in lately. I would eat, eat, eat and never be satisfied. So I'd eat some more to see if the next thing satisfied me.

Ticker - stay strong. Look how far you have come. 44 lbs. That is amazing!! You've lost my daughter. LOL. Don't give in to the wicked cravings. Eat something totally delicious and LC. There are so many options. And you'll feel so proud of yourself that you stayed strong. Success is the sum of all the many, many little good choices we have to make every day and every one is a victory over our former carb-loving fatty selves!

I Hate when the scale goes Up for no logical reason. Just one of those random "mess with Shell" kinda things I guess Lol
The scale is a bear sometimes!

September 1 - 232.8
September 2 - 232.2
September 3 - 230.8
September 4 - 230.6
September 5 - 230.6 (TOM arrived so I'm just glad I didn't gain)
September 6 - forgot to weigh - TOM
September 7 - 231 (ugh to gain but still TOM)
September 8 - 230.6
September 9 - 231.4 (WHOA)

Ate out twice yesterday so in some ways not stressing about the increase of .8 today. I stuck to plan with an omelet at breakfast (gave my muffin and potatoes to my pregnant friend) and a small steak and broccoli at lunch. Both meals out came from the under 600 calorie menus.
I had a small hamburger patty for dinner and went to bed hungry. I figure it's a water fluctuation and/or hidden salt/sugar in restaurant food.

Good morning and happy (???) Monday

Shelly I have such a love/hate relaionship with my scale....I know how you feel. Right now we are getting along great but tomorrow could be a different story lol

Off to work for me....stuck on plan this weekend despite pizza and cookies and all manner of nono food around (kids and grandson visiting for the week). So, yay for that anyway!

Yah usually that scale and I have a Love/Hate relationship Lol! I seem to be retaining fluid for some weird reason. Drank a Ton of water yesterday so who knows. Hopefully it'll be gone asap!
