I WANT MY PRE-KIDS BODY BACK!!

Despite what celeb moms say, you do not lose weight "running around after your kids"! I have 2 under age 5 and 2 dogs that I run around after & I am 200 lbs. I was always 130-140 and a size 4 with an athletic toned body. I gained 60-70 with baby #1 then lose most of it. Gain 60 with baby#2 and only lost 30. Then my hormones got out of whack & I started gaining weight & had a ravenous appetite. Nothing made me full. My thyroid meds were no help. Friends & family told me I was a mom now so not to focus on dieting. Well I hate wearing size 1x or my pregnancy clothes, when my youngest is almost 3. I hate not being able to fit into my size 4 clothes. I refuse to "throw those away" as some suggested & just be "fat and happy". I am committed to getting back to my Pre-baby bloody. Please share your stories of sabotagers or non supportive people who try to derail your diet!

I want my prekids body back too!

I just had my 3rd (and last) baby 2 months ago. I had lost almost everything from my previous 2 pregnancies before getting pregnant and only gained 15 lbs with this pregnancy.

I feel like crying because of my weight though because even though I'm only 3 lbs above my pregnancy weight...none of my prepregnancy clothes fit! (and they still fit at 3 months pregnant!) My stomach is massive and it just depresses me. I certainly don't want to buy new bigger clothes so I decided I'm just going to tough out low carb. I may look into lipo and a tummy tuck eventually but I believe I will have to maintain at about 130 for that (I am 5'3")
I am doing a modified version of induction in hopes of keeping up my milk supply. I am allowing myself to have almonds (2 servings a day) to up my carb count and more cheese then would generally be allowed on Atkins. Absolutely no wheat or grains.

(When I researched I found that some people's milk has dried up but I surmise it's because they did not eat enough)

You can definitely do it!

One of my close friends is a personal trainer who does a lot of work helping women get their figures back after having a baby. He says that these women are the absolute best clients to work with because they're so much more motivated than his other clients -- they work much harder and they usually won't quit after a few weeks. According to him, motivation and consistency are what takes people to goal.

Good luck! You can do it!

I never wanted my pre-kid body back. I only gained 12 pounds with my youngest (inherited the two oldest when I married my husband, a widow) and 2 weeks after he was born, I was back at my pre-pregnant weight - 260 lbs.

Now, at my current maintenance of 160, I've given up my dream of having my 14 year old body (last time I was not overweight). Even with plastic surgery, it's just not going to happen.

Well when I say that, I want that ugly flap of skin and fat gone from around my hips! Its not just about looks too...it interferes with my life making me several sizes on bottom above what I should be and gets in the way when I cuddle my baby(and gets in the way during sex...sorry for the TMI). Technically I'm only 1 lb above my pre pregnancy right now since I controlled my diet during pregnancy (then had to add carbs back on because my doctor started harping at me about the fact that I was losing weight)

ja! me too. ive yo yoed in weight ever since.... ive been both the smallest ever thanks to consciensious low carbing and the largest due to not watching my intake when no longer nursing my metabolism is very different, as is my body, and that mom flap is stubborn, even when deflated, lol. its just a dehydrated flap. euww...
im working harder than ever actually truly working out for once, because my body loses weight differently, and i want to be a curvy gal, even at a size 2! skinny flab exists, and it aint pretty, ive been there. also i want to be healthier than.ever so i have the energy to " run around after" my kiddo! lc works, its doable, but for me, it takes some adjustment in mentality. will i look like all the 21 year old hard bodies i see on the beach? probably not. but i can use it as inspiration to be the beast me i can be! good luck everyone stick with it! remember its about lifestyle, not a fad diet,

Ok I really feel great! Hubby bought mini donuts for my girls (2 & 4) and the smell of them actually made me sick! I am so thankful that Atkins is changing my cravings. Now I crave cheese or bacon, when I used to crave sweets & eat all my kids treats. I am now honest with myself and realize the following:
#1. I CANNOT EAT WHATEVER I WANT LIKE I DID IN MY 20s.
#2. MY HUSBAND IS NATURALLY THIN SO I CANNOT EAT LIKE HIM.
#3. I AM NOT A GARBAGE BAG SO I SHOULD NOT EAT MY KIDS LEFTOVER FOOD, WHICH BELONGS IN THE TRASH.

The truth hurts. My body is different. I had 2 kids in 3 years while in my mid-30s and I am not the 20 year old size 4 anymore. My kids are 2 and 4 now, so I can no longer claim "baby weight" excuse. They are no longer babies. I gained 60 with the first baby and lost it all. I was not so lucky with baby #2 and my body did not bounce back. So I will work hard to get healthy and fit. I will be happy with a size 6 and a healthy weight of 140.

I would love to have my pre-kid body or even my pre-3rd kid body. For some reason when I hit 30, I have had a much harder time with my weight! I really had no issues losing the weight after my first two children, but it has really stuck (and multiplied) after my third kid. She is now four, so I really can't blame it on her anymore

Well my youngest is 2 and I am still fighting the weight.
After baby #1 I lost the 70 that I had gained and was about 150.
However with baby #2, I went back up to 220 and was not so lucky taking it off. I lost 50 then gained...then lost and gained.
So here I am now fighting to get back to pre-baby weight...2 years later!
No excuses, but I am a stress eater & a happy eater. So happy or sad, I love to eat! I am really hoping Atkins will do it for me.
I vow to reach my goal by the end of this year and not go into 2014 with any more "baby weight!"

I was hoping to reach 180 in Sept, but I am elated that I stopped stalling & lost 4 lbs to reach 184! Thanks for all the advice regarding almond milk & cheese. I also switched to low sodium bacon. My goal is to get to 170 in October! Ultimate goal is 140 by the end of the year. Once my waistline gets to 26" I am getting a size 4/6 bikini to wear on a cruise hubby & I plan to take in Feb/March!

Inspirational..."mom loses 60 bs & is now a fitness model"

Let this be a source of inspiration. I found this on a fitness model website.
This mom pictured lost over 60 lbs & then became a fitness model after encouragement from trainers at the gym!

Semi-sweet chocolate chips!

I do get sweet cravings, especially at TOM.
Atkins bars have 19g carbs & even though they say there are only 3g net carbs, they still seem to cause stalling.
So I have about 8 semi-sweet chocolate chips which is just 4g carbs.
It satisfies my sweet tooth & so far so good.

Anyone else try these?

(I just do not have the time or patience to make "fat bombs")

Low carb smoothie challenge

So far so good. Average about 1 lb loss per day. I only weigh every couple days or so. I was just so tired of meats, eggs & bacon. I will resume Atkins next month. My goal is to lose 15 this month (will be happy with 170-174)

I hate to say, desiring to look like you did pre-baby is a bit of a fool's errand. Your body is changed, there's no way around it. Seeking to look awesome post-baby is not only possible, it's probable, but you still won't be shaped the same way you were before a pregnancy unless you're genetically gifted in the skin department.

I've been lighter with each successive baby and look hotter now, four babies down the road, than I did as a teen. But it's not a completely flat tummy or lack of stretchmarks, that's not in the cards for me. It's a curvier shape that looks awesome in clothes and isn't 270 . That's good enough. I'm a mommy and look like one, but in the best way possible. Low carb makes managing weight during and after pregnancies much easier, but it's not a miracle worker!

Thanks for your insight.
However, my mom is a size 6 and all my aunts are size 4 -6 after having 2 -4 kids. We are Caribbean, with elastic skin, so are blessed not to have any stretch marks. They have all bounced back to their pre-kids body and are my role models. I guess we are genetically gifted, since my mom looks like she is in her 30s, (although she is in her 50s) has no wrinkles and no stretch marks and I still get carded and assumed to be in my teens or 20s, despite being in my mid-30s!
I will post a "no excuses" photo in workout gear, to show my ripped abs, once I am at my 135-140 goal. I already see my abs, fighting their way out, as more and more fat is lost from my stomach.

1 down, 1 to go! I am 1 lb away from my 170 Oct 31 goal.
160s here I come. I am now dancing and singing along to Katy Perry, "Roar"
'I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire
Cause I am a champion and you’re gonna hear me roar
Louder, louder than a lion'

skinny jeans are now too big!

I could not believe it when these skinny jeans that are in my signature pix, fit so loose, I had to check to see that I had not grabbed one of my "maternity jeans" (that I still have after 2 years!!!).
I can no longer wear these size 10 skinny jeans, as they fit like sweat pants now.
So breaking with my usual tradition of weekly weigh-ins, I got on the scale.
3 down...7 to go to reach my 160 goal!

I will be ecstatic if I can fit into a my size 6 before the end of the year...or at least get them over my knees!

** Raw Green Smoothie Detox **

** Raw Green Smoothie Detox **

I will now have to work twice as hard, since it has been a while since my body has been in the 160s (circa 2008...before having kids), so now I have to push it to lose weight.

I may switch things up a little and do "Raw Green Smoothie Detox". (low carb fruits and veggie smoothies, various combinations, water base or coconut water base...no food, no coffee, just smoothies...about 30g max carbs per day.) *google or check Yummly for green smoothie recipes

I has worked FOR ME in the past (drop about 4 lbs in 4 days). It just resets your system, gives you energy and glowing skin!

I will give it until the end of the week if the scale does not move below 165.

** MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES ** You can do this!

You can get the body you want, after having 1, 2, 3 or more kids!
We are women. We are strong. Our bodies are amazing.
Do not let anyone tell you that you cannot get your body back.

Will our bodies be exactly the same as before we had kids????
NO, OUR BODIES WILL BE BETTER AND STRONGER!!!

7 down...3 more to go to reach 160 goal!

Finally The scale is moving in the right direction, after stalling for a couple days.
I really think I will make my 160 goal before Thanksgiving...actually, I will aim for 155 now (this way I can indulge & enjoy my turkey & stuffing too!!!) I know my body & I know this will temporarily add 2-3 lbs, but I will get back on track the next day.

Thanks for all the support & advice.

At one point the scale was up 4 lbs, but I knew I was eating on track, so I just drank more water & cut back on my workout & it worked!

I really think watching my sodium has helped me lose a lot.

Keep on keeping on!

My new goal is 155 by Thanksgiving!

Wow what a transformation you are making. Can I ask what type of workout you do?
