Technically I'm only 1 lb above my pre pregnancy right now since I controlled my diet during pregnancy (then had to add carbs back on because my doctor started harping at me about the fact that I was losing weight)
One thing that will help a LOT with that is some SERIOUS abdominal strength-training. I don't just mean crunches, either. You need to work your lower abdominals and your obliques.

When I started, back Jan. 2012? I started with a good friend... we'd both had babies (She has 5, but lost her figure after the last 2. She's had a total of 3 C-sections)

We each followed our own eating plans -- they were different, but we supported each other on it -- and we STARTED GOING TO THE GYM. Cardio... resistance... and then we finally started adding in the core-training, and WOW! That is where the "getting our body back" really came in. Childbearing (especially with a C-section or three) really does a number on your lower abdominals, and most of us never do the work to get that back. Once we do, the change is amazing.

Um, DANG girl your weight is just flying off that scale. Almost 40 lbs in 4 months? Not too shabby at all!!! You look great at 160, which is what I set my goal at and I'm 5'5" too, so that might give me some clue as to what I can expect.

So you've stayed on Induction pretty much until you hit th 160 range and then started your green smoothie thing?

Kaismama,

Thanks for the support.
Yes, I stick to induction pretty much.
Then I switch to green smoothies when I get bored or during PMS when I crave chocolate (so I can make my low carb chocolate smoothies)

You can do it!
I am averaging 10 lbs loss a month.

Thanks for the support, Gracie.
While I do follow low carb, I also watch my calories & try to eat clean (meaning, organic, no junk food, low sodium etc)

After having kids, I developed a thyroid problem which slowed my metabolism and made me bloated if I ate certain foods like carbs, brocolli etc.
I would say my diet is similar to "South Beach", but I do love my bacon & meats.
I never eat over 1200 calories or 30g carbs daily.
I workout 4-5 days a week (usually Mon - Fri) ...so I have weekends off

Here is a sample of 3 days of meals & also my workout.

1. Drink 10oz of room temperature water first thing in the morning.
(Boil water in kettle the night before & fill my water bottle)
*this gets the body ready to flush fat

2. BRKFST =

Scrambled eggs (2) in virgin olive oil
Bacon (low sodium) (4 slices)
Cherry tomatoes (3 or 4)
Avocado (2" slice)
Decaf coffee + coconut milk or almond milk

OR

Omlette with 3 eggs, 2oz cheese, 2oz ham, onions, peppers

OR

Smoothie with almond or coconut milk, 1 cup frozen fruit, chobani

3. LUNCH

Drink 1 qt of Water before meal

Salad & Grilled chicken
Vinagarette or Blue Cheese dressing (no more than size of golf ball)

OR

Smoothie

** WORKOUT **
...at least 5 hours after last meal...so if lunch at 1, then workout around 6 or later.
...1 hour walking with ankle weights and 5 lb hand weights
OR
...exercise DVD for 45 minutes (Biggest Loser, Cindy Crawford, Beach Body, Taebo)

4. DINNER (1 hour after workout)
Drink 1 qt of Water before meal. (Add crystal light sometimes)

Stir Fry Spinach or Kale or Buk Choy (soy sauce & onions)
6oz Steak. OR Hamburger Patties OR 6oz Grilled Salmon
grey poupon mustard for some flavor (1 tsp)

Snack
20 almonds OR 20 semi sweet dark chocolate chips
Vanilla Chai Tea (Target) & Stevia & coconut milk

Your menu looks fabulous! And it looks like a lot for 1200 calories. So, why is the water room temperature? I've heard of warm lemon water in the morning to help with bloating....

You've lost a lot and really quickly. You should be so proud of yourself

Warm water moves more freely through your colon & aids in the digestive process by helping to flush waste out the body. Cold water hardens food particles & actually can cause digestive problems. Cold waters & soda (carbonated beverages) should be avoided for maximum digestion & weight loss.

Warm water or room temperature water moves freely through your body flushing out fat cells & toxins. You will lose weight faster & have clear skin!

ps. I am actually not losing that quickly. I average 10 lbs a month, which is just 2.5 lbs a week. I am however, losing consistently & will not give up until I reach my 140 goal and am in a size 4 skinny jean

Any time I get tired of eating meats or during PMS when craving sweets, I will switch to green smoothies for a couple days. It is not strict induction, but still keeps me in ketosis, since the smoothies are low carb & I do not have more than 30g max carbs a day.

Wow! I never knew this and I have horrible digestion problems. So you drink room temp water all day? That is so interesting! I always drink ice cold water and hardly ever drink soda.

Ten pounds a month is simply incredible!

Thanks for all your input, I truly appreciate it...

I've actually tried these smoothies and they are very good. I would love to get a juicer for myself as a Christmas present. My sister has one and drinks one green smoothie every day. Her complexion is better and she's lost a few pounds.

We are women. We are strong. Our bodies are amazing.
Do not let anyone tell you that you cannot get your body back.

Will our bodies be exactly the same as before we had kids????
NO, OUR BODIES WILL BE BETTER AND STRONGER!!!
I remember my doctor telling me to be reasonable and that I would never reach the weight I was when I was younger....she was smiling on the other side of her face when I walked in her office in my UK 8 skinny's. Don't you just love it when that happens. Congrats on the loss!

Skinny B, I have enjoyed reading this thread. Thanks for sharing! You have inspired me and given me some additional motivation. I also had two babies in a very short period of time, and want to look really good again. My youngest is 2 1/2 and there is just no excuse to still be carrying around this extra weight! I'm entering my 3rd week of induction and am doing well. Still have another 35-40 lbs to drop, but I must say that seeing your success is quite encouraging. Congrats on once again being a skinny b!

Hot chick,
Thanks for the support!
Yes having kids close together & being over 30, makes it hard to take off the baby weight, but it can be done. Maybe not in a couple months, like celebrities like Kim K or B who have trainers & prepped meals to make it easier & also the help to afford them the time to exercise & be less stressed,
but WE CAN DO IT, IT WILL JUST TAKE US LONGER!!!

Back when I was 200 lbs, my youngest was almost 3 and I was still carrying around 50 extra lbs, part pregnancy weight, thyroid weight & stress eating. So I had resolved I would no longer be wearing my "fat clothes" in 6 months. So slow & steady I have lost an average of 2-3 lbs a week, about 10 lbs per month.

So far, 50 lbs down, but I am not listening to family or "frenemies" who try to derail my diet by telling me to stop or that I am too thin. I know my measurements & what size I need to be. It is not some unrealistic size, just my Pre-baby measurements.

AND YES, YOU CAN GO BACK TO PRE- BABY SIZE & sometimes smaller (my aunts, in their mid-40s with 3 or 4 kids each, now are back to their sizes & flat tummies...maybe not a 24" waist, but 26" is fine! Give or take a few inches, we can get back to our size.

At my smallest, I was 125 with 34-24-34 and a size 4. Normally I was 130-135 with 35-25-35.
Now, I will be happy with 130-140 and 36-26-36, which is my goal!
I have about 20 lbs to go and a 2" - 3" in each area.
I will focus on dropping the weight first, then do pilates or p90x once I am at goal weight, to get my tummy & hips tight & bikini ready!!!

My Workout

Having small kids, I have to get my workout in while they are sleeping, so it's either an early 5AM workout before they wake up or an evening workout around 7PM when I put them to sleep. I prefer the morning workout, since it revs me up for the day & gets me motivated. Trust me, I am not a morning person, so this takes sheer motivation & willpower! Plus I prefer to workout early since later on, I may skip it and get lazy. Also, you need to workout at least 5 hours after your last meal in order to burn stored fat.

Here is what I do Mondays - Thursdays (just 4 days a week)

OPTION #1
5AM workout (do 1 of the below each day)
- powerwalk or slow jog outside for 45 minutes (if hubby home)
- Jillian michaels exercise DVD (any one will do)
- Taebo DVD
- Cindy Crawford exercise DVD

OPTION #2
7PM workout
(each lunch at 12P & nothing after that)

- P90 DVD or Insanity DVD (alternate each day)

*dinner @ 8:30P =
- low carb protein shake (check Internet for low carb recipes)
- salad and 6oz grilled chicken or steak
