Mthrgoos i'm Soo happy to see you back! And So glad everything went so well!! About your question on estrogen, I didn't have to deal with that, yet. I kept the one and only ovary I had. The Dr wanted to remove it too But I told him that if it looked Ok and healthy to leave it so he did. He really pushed to get me to remove it though! Grr! I belonged to a hysterectomy site that might help you. I'll PM you the name in case i'm not supposed to share it here lots of Great info!

Hi everyone and thanks again! Its been rough.
Mthrgoos glad to see you back. I know a bit about hormone replacement therapy (hrt) and i'd have to say that my emotions without it would have to be murderous (as in...i want to murder someone, literally) before i'd take it. It really does up your odds for breast cancer. The good just isn't there to justify its use.

Liz... I have had wine since i first restarted hardcore last spring. It is my psychological weapon... I allow myself ultra michelob or miller lite or wine (i prefer freixenet, which is spanish sparking wine and the extra dry is pretty good when it comes to carbs). I say to myself, if I can have a glass or two of wine or low carb beer, i will stay on plan. that is what works for me.

Trillex you looks SO FANTASTIC. I will take a photo of myself in the next few weeks too!

First started Atkins April 1, 2002.
Lost 40 pounds back then and maintained for almost 8 years...then carb creep crept. I've always been low carb, but went hard core again in March 2012.

Oh man I found a new love! Sliced (round) cucumbers soaked in vinager and salt! Love! And I Pray I don't regret it due to water retention tomorrow! Nice snack though

oh we do cuke slices with splenda, vinegar then with or without onions. Oh gonna have to make them tomorrow... I have a cuke in the fridge!!! Which leads to german green beans, bacon grease to sautee the onions add green beans and sautee for a bit then add vinegar and splenda and bacon crumbles!!!!!! ADDICTIVE!

I swore by my bodybugg last time. It helped. Took food logging, heart rate, steps to a new level. Made it like a game.

Tonight I got the fitbit. Gonna see if it compares.

Love this stuff!

Hour of cycling across the u of a campus! Woo hoo.

Okay now yall are making me want cucumbers and vinegar...yum.

Oh I am so going to get the fitbit one of these days...I can just feel it..lol

Yesterday was blah for me. I worked, went and got my hair done (that was good), worked again, slept, studied, watched tv and went to bed - that was it! My kids wanted to play tennis but I didnt want us to burn out - want it to be a treat so we will go tonight. I am bad about burning out on something.

I ate...
B: 2 egg WHITES, 1 egg, mushrooms, 2 cups decaf coffee with 1/2&1/2
L: hb patty with mozarella & mushrooms, slaw.
S: low carb shake (with pumkin), little bit of whipped topping, another low carb shake with cocoa and a little bit of pb
D: hb patty with mozarella and mushrooms, slaw
S: some almonds, some cheese thingys cracker-like things husband bought low carb (just came in the mail so had to try!)

I struggled with eating yesterday as you can see. I ALMOST lost it (went on a binge) but like how could I after being into my 16th day DUHHHH

AND I am SO HAPPY i DIDNT even though I ate A LOT because the scale finally moved. I am going to run with that and push hard today. I have to work today and tomorrow is my last day to finish my projects for school soooo I will get it done! I did get up early and make coffee (decaf) and straightened up the kitchen and am going to study..so good start to the day...

I am hoping these next 2 weeks is when I see some movement on the scale since really the first 2 weeks I was going through ovulation and menses...

Good morning.

Well I did take off that half pound at least, so we will see what tomorrow brings because I only slept for 4 1/2 hours and I had to get up and work.
So hopefully that'll set tonight.

I think I am going to work out a little bit tonight. I'm not so sure about the Fitbit yet – I'm going to give it a week and will see. I might just have to go back to the newer bodybugg.

DQ thanks for the advice on alcohol. I was getting hooked on Kalua. But my fav is the flavored vodka (whipped or marshmellow with crème de menthe and crème de cacao). I love MGD but I can't find the 64 cal beer any where anymore. So I will def have to pick up some Michelob ultra. Just to fight the craving if I had one.

Was proud of myself last night. Instead of alcohol had diet rootbeer with a dash of HWC. ohhhh sooo good and nuked the craving I was having. No workout today - yet - half day at work since my son has pink eye so I am going home to relieve my hubby so he can go to work. Maybe I will go walking tonight which is what I would love to do. Oh, I forgot I bought the walking tapes and I am def going to do them today when I get home. me and my daughter will....walk...walk...walk...lol. They are funny but low impact workout. Also being home early allows me to cook. I have carne asada marinating and I can cook up my hamburger patties with real bacon pieces and cheese in them. Love those.

Ok not sure the cucumbers were the problem after all. I think it was/is the russell stovers sf pecan clusters! My Very sweet hubby brought me some and I remembered after my morning post I had 4-5 Yesterday! No More!

Just finished playing tennis!

Just finished playing tennis - 2 x in one week WHAT? Oh yeah!

Funny yesterday I was hungry and today not at all.

B: 2 egg whites 1 egg and mushroom with avocado (1/4)
L: 2 JenniO turkey burgers with slice cheese, slaw, little bit of salsa
S: low carb shake with pumpkin and avocado (use 1/2 and 1/2 and water)
S: 2 sugar free werthers candies - had 15 sugar alcohol so not sure about this
---2 cups of coffee with stevia and 1/2 & 1/2

I am going to try to refrain from dinner since it is 9pm. I think the avocado in the shake really helped fill me up maybe??

Anyways, all is good!

nice losses...stall for me....

pink & pcaltman what are yall eating today???

me... 242 still...

this is odd for me. so, help me figure out whats wrong?

water- 90oz over the day...
mostly fat, not many carbs- maybe less than 10

lotta protein though... chicken

yestersay...

1 oz real cheese
vienna sausages and mayo and ranch packet (sugar, huh?)

pepperoni slices during the day - about 4 ounces

atkins bar 3 GNC

grilled chicken breast and thigh

3 pork rinds 3T chicken salad w/ real mayo @ home


i feel a hunger pang 1 hour after eating... which wont be quelled with water.

any insights?

whining: this didnt happen last time...

today- no clue what to eat...

on a plus- teen and i joined gym yesterday. with a kids care... and my shy- cried last time i left her at a gym daycare 6 months ago toddler actually cried because she had to leave!!!! YESSSS! i can workout guilt free now! shes not a day care kid. SAHM 2years and now she works with me. so the time in the gym will do us both good. incentive!

Ok, so not so much time left this month and I wanted to be down to 215. So disappointed. Anyways, for me when I'm hungry I try to eat more protein. When I have chicken (from the can) and mayo it totally fills me up. Right now it's 12:30 and I am not even hungry for lunch.

Today so far:
b: 2 eggs with mayo (egg salad) on slice of low carb bread 7 carbs 6 fiber its a flax seed bread. not my fav but helped when I was craving it.
S: chicken salad w/pickle
L: carne asada with low carb tortilla and cheese
d: rib eye steak

Oh hopefully walking the mountain tonight. Couldn't get my walking tapes to work on the blueray. sucks. Cause I was home and ready to walk. just cant run out the door when it's 100 at 6 pm. So I'm trying some extra indoor stuff. Or at least I want to try. Just called hubby to check it out for me

1moregin, I'm no expert, but what I would recommend is cutting down on some of the processed foods, and add more fat. I would definitely get rid of the Atkins bar and see if that helps. Some people find that the bars and shakes cause them to stall, and it may be that they're making you more hungry. The pepperoni and Vienna sausages are processed and may have fillers that are causing you to be hungry. Those are just the things that I would try and see if it helps.

Another awesome drop today! Down 3.5 pounds again today so as my swelling goes down from surgery, the weight is dropping with it. I've now met all my goals listed in my signature and it's time to come up some new ones!!

DQ: I'd love any info you have. Started getting some hot flashes today, but still haven't caved in and taken the estrogen.

Mthrgoos, wow on meeting your goals, I am so happy for you

Great advice on the process food. I don't eat any...in Canada it's more difficult to purchase any processed low carb foods. So for me it's farm fresh meats, vegetables and fruits, yes I know I am a farmer and we grow veg, fruits and feeds for animals. We also have chickens and organic eggs. And so its easy to eat low carb. It,s only when my MIL or daughter bakes bread or cookies that I struggle. But even that is getting better. I don't think I'll meet my goal of 140lbs this month but 'm happy with the way my eating is turning out' when I start this Easter Monday, my eating was out of control, Easter Sunday I ate and ate everything at our family get together, and that night I knew I had to do something not because of a weight issue but because of a health issue..I did not want to be I'll as I age..I know now that it is harder for my body to slim down at my age and I need way less food to live and that every calorie counts...I think because I am 5'9" my body is fighting to stay in the latter half of the 140's but I am determined to reach 140 lbs..but by following a healthful'low carb balance way of eating.

Trini, I so envy your farm fresh veggies, eggs, and meats! Here in the desert of Arizona, we really don't have anything that's Farm Fresh! I know what you mean about controlling yourself. We walked into a store today and there was fresh bread baking. It smelled so so good! But I was able to appreciate the aroma without feeling like I had to have it, or that I even really wanted it. In the past, I would have bought a whole loaf and consumed most of it myself. Just being in control is a huge accomplishment.
