Just find putting together the sauerkraut:- finely sliced cabbage, water, local white wine, salt....then place in large ceramic jars with. Weighted lid and into the dark old storage. The fresh one is a bit like salty slaw but the ferment pickled one yummy...I am the slicer and my mother in law puts it together. A good days job.
Also next week is pickles...

Shelly it's good to read that your Granny is doing better, sending out healing prayers. I hope they keep her in longer..

I've been doing this the right way now. I've not been cheating. I turned down sweets and fries!! I'm hoping the scale finally keeps going in the right direction. I need a new scale at home. Right in the kitchen where it belongs. One of those dial types because the fancy digital ones are too complicated and mine at home isn't keeping right. Each time I get on the scale it changes. So I rely on the one at the gym and if I don't make the gym that day then I don't know what i'm weighing. - Tonight new scale!!

made up Brats this weekend - yum!!! grilled them all at one time. Oh and splurged on rib-eye steaks and grilled them too! Making chicken marsala tonight. Need a change. I do not want to be my starting weight at the end of the month again next month! errrrr!!

Happy Monday! My Italian dinner party turned out great. My zucchini lasagna was a big hit and it was delicious! It was even better today for my lunch. Will definitely make that again!

Feeling very sick to my stomach today. Not sure what is going on. Don't think it is diet related and hoping it goes away soon!! Praying I didn't catch a stomach bug.

1moregin, I have forgotten to weigh many times before getting dressed and I get so frustrated!

Well work up this morning work up with my head pounding and everything stuffed up. so I feel so unwell..

Julie I am so happy that you lasagna turn out great. I'll have to try that we did not plant any this year, last year we had so many that we ran at a lost, we donated so much to the food banks that they started to refuse them.lol

Aloha everyone.
Shelly...actually, the hospital is a bad place for eldery patients. Soething lime 84% of elerly patients become delirious, and that is a terrible thing to see. The longer person stays in the hospital, the more susceptibe the person is to become delirious.

We went out to dinner tonight for mike's birthday...i had filet mignon with wild mushrooms and a small salad. Yes!!

Day one of induction has started. I stocked the fridge and pantry. Cooked up a pound of bacon and then cooked up a pound of sausage to boot this morning. Starting at 262 pounds. Gained all but 12 pounds of it back. No worries at least I am back on plan and trying. Thanks for all the welcomes. Look forward to much success with you guys and so happy to see so many familiar names and the new names.

Not to sound defeatist- but 1 more week and if nothing significant- going back to vegetarian and exercising. Got about 2-3 lb per week loss that way, too and better food choices. Last time I atkins'ed the weight fell off effortlessly! WTH this go around? Nothing different.

Well, either way congrats on the what looks to be around 5 lb a week you lost! I'm on 4 1/2 months of induction and only lost 35ish. But I've never felt better in my life as I do now. After I break this 2nd plateau it's on! At least 20lb to go.

1moregin, it's all about finding which plan you can live with for the long run. I love your funny posts and hope you stick around, but it's finding what works for you. Having said that, I think you're losing at a great rate and should be proud of it!!

We spent the day on the lake yesterday and it was WONDERFUL! Of course I got sunburned, so I fully expected a little bounce up today due to retaining water, but no. I got another drop yesterday and today. So So Thankful!! I'm almost to the 70 pound mark!

1moregin, just as an example ~ I only lost 8 pounds the entire month of June, and 11 pounds the month of May, but I've lost 13 pounds this month. There's no rhyme or reason to it. I eat basically the same things all the time, not much variety, but my body drops when it's ready to, and sometimes it's REALLY frustrating because I want it gone so much faster! But if you keep working it, it does work and it does add up. I promise!

Super busy right now work wise but will try and post and keep up best I can. Will answer each in the morning for sure, but reading through all the kind words and welcomes back is really motivating. You guys are the best. My restarts are brutal with the withdrawal from caffeine, I usually do not drink cokes and coffee but the stress did me in. I all ready have a killer headache but such is life. Anyway I am sure I will be crying about the induction flu soon enough. Glad to be back. Only 5 days to feeling great once all stored carbs are burned.
