DAY 2 QUESTIONS

Hello All,

Starting Day two today, just had scrambled eggs with a slice of cheddar and 2 sausage patties, pretty good and I'm full. I was used to eating oatmeal and never satisfied for breakfast. My questions are:

1. Do ketostix expire? I have some from 2012 so I'm not sure if they will work, I used it this morning and I wasn't yet in ketosis.

2. Typically how long does it take, in the book he says that after 48 hours your body stops using the carbs, so i am hoping 2 days but don't want to get let down.

I'm going to take a few days before I weigh in.

3. I feel a little dizzy, did this happen to a lot of you at first?

I never used the stix so I can't say on those. But Yes I felt a bit dizzy and "wonky" first starting induction. It's called the Induction Flu and totally normal. You might try drinking some broth, either chicken Or beef to get that salt etc back in your body.

Don't know about ketostix.

Takes a couple or three days to clear the carbs out. BUT your body does not completely adapt to protein and fat as fuel/energy for up to a month. In between you might stall because your body is confused about what it is supposed to burn. So hang in there, with the goal of becoming used to the new foods and practicing eating to satisfaction and not beyond.

Induction flu. Broth. Salt. Magnesium. Potassium.

I've never used the sticks either. I had a terrible time for the first couple of weeks with the induction flu. But I upped the sodium for a short time and I felt a LOT better. Good luck!
