OTC Low Carb snacks for someone who works a ton!
Hi Guys - I am working 60+ hr weeks right now and was just wondering if anyone has any low carb snacks that they buy at the store and take with them to work?
I don't get to leave the office much so having some snacks handy would really help!
cold cuts (you can buy a couple of pounds of meats like turkey, roast beef, whatever, and a half a pound of cheese, and make meat and cheese roll-ups)
boiled eggs (yes, you can buy them already boiled, or make a ton on the weekend and eat them throughout the week)
jarred pickled asparagus or mushrooms or other vegetables (in the condiment section, they also come in spicy versions).
my go to is now coconut oil. it would not hurt to eat nothing but that for days. earthquake, fire, hospital, invasion, long days at the office, I am packing coconut oil!
this gives you plenty of nutrition and avoids "recreational eating" as it's not exactly thrilling to eat.
How do you eat the coconut oil? I have this in a jar in my pantry and struggle with eating it cause it makes things taste like cocount. I do not mind if I put a little in a pan heat it up so it melts and add tossed coconut and splenda in it and toast it up but other than that not sure what to do with it?
Do you spoon it in cold pressed or heat it up to thin it back to oil? Love to know what you do and how much please :confused:
I make mini-fat bombs in lots of lovely combinations. But like Raven, I can just eat if off the spoon if pressed. If you don't like the coconut flavor, the refined versions don't taste like coconut.
