5 days in

Hi, I started induction Tuesday June 4th. I actually did Atkins about 12 years ago and got good results. I am just trying to do it from memory now. I have been having things like eggs, bacon, hamburgers, cheese, salads and green beans, and tuna fish w/mayo. I lost 4 lbs in the first 2 days (water?) for days 4 and 5 I did not lose anything. I know it will probably take some time. Is there anything I'm doing wrong with the eating? I am drinking water and have had a diet coke or 2.

Welcome and good luck! It's a good idea to read one of the Atkins books again since it has been a while for you. Your food list looks good, but there are a lot of hidden carbs in things and certain foods that can cause stalls in some people (like diet soda). Everyone is different though so you have to figure out what works for you. If you stick with foods from the induction list you should do well!

I was a lot like you and tried Atkins three times in the past year. Although I had excellent results about 10 years ago, nothing was happening. I thought I knew Atkins well, but come to find out, it was the little stuff I had forgotten about.

I read here for awhile and reacquainted myself with Induction and Atkins itself. I started Induction on Monday and have lost 9.4lbs as of today.

Even if you think you know how Atkins works, it really pays to read up on it again. At least it did for me.

I agree with the others: it's best to read up on the rules of Induction, rather than trying to do it from several years old memory!

Even if you don't want to read the book (again?), the information is readily available online. No need to improvise.

Be sure to check the Atkins website. Lots of free information about each phase and a free starter kit can be found there.

This is my first day and I'm reading the book and I actually find it compelling, lol, am I weird? :)

IF so, you've got lots of company here. :)

Hi
I was just looking at your list of foods and couple of things caught my eye:
- just watch your cheese intake (it can be a creeper and you often eat more than you realise)
- things like green beans should be watched when you are doing induction
- depending on what version of Atkins you are doing (Atkins 72 or the newest version where you only count net carbs) you have to be careful about what you are putting in your salads.
- some bacon can be high in salt and nitrates; both of which can affect your weight loss

One more tip, make sure you are drinking plenty of water :)

Best of luck to you.
