Heartburn relief?

Hey everyone!! I am on day 6 of induction and I'm down 4 pounds (Woohoo! )

My husband began induction with me yesterday, and sometimes he gets bad heartburn. I carry a little thing of tums in my purse for him....but I am guessing he can't have those?! We are not sure what we're able to do for him.

Anyone have any suggestions??

Thanks!!

1/4 t baking soda in about 4 oz of water. works like a charm Taste ~ Not to swell, but even I with my horrible gag reflex can choke it down because I know the sweet relief I will feel after.

Prilosec OTC. Been taking it for years. Take it in the morning on an empty stomach and don't eat anything for 20 minutes. Your husband won't need Tums after that.

You didn't say how much or if your husband has to lose weight. With weight loss also comes heartburn relief..

Yep prilosec works, tums really doesn't work. One of the reasons i started hardcore LC was because i was having stomach problems. After about one week, maybe less, my gastric problems were history. Really!

One tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in water before meals helps as well.

I couple of tablespoons of yellow mustard will do the trick. :-) Google it.
