Hi all! I'm on board

I've been an active low-ish carber for 3+ years now, but I've been a little too liberal with my personal carb limit. I've been eating around 50-70g/day, mostly from nuts, wine, and junk fillers like splenda. I let 13 lbs creep back on my small frame and I want it off!!

Too chicken to weigh myself today but I *think* I'm around 138. I'm counting every darn carb until I make my goal of 125.

Not eatting to great today. Feeling cruddy. Was supposed to get my permanant crown today But the lab messed it up and so they tried to make it fit but ended up having to re do the mold which ment a lot of aches and pains. Couldn't get my mouth numb enough. Ouch! So I managed to eat a few bites of some yogurt and a couple of soft cheese stix. My jaw hurts! I'll probably pay for it on the scale tomorrow but I was starving and needed soft food, way better then the ice cream I almost ate Lol

Shelly, So sorry you're having a rough day!! For me, dentists and mouth pain are the worst! So I totally understand your pain.

Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do to get through. You COULD have used this as an excuse to have ice cream, shakes, pudding, and anything else that's soft and easy to eat, but you haven't. I think that's a victory in itself. If there's a tiny upswing on the scale tomorrow, it will come right back off. You're doing great, so keep it up!

I HATE dental work Shelly . No matter what my mouth always hurts afterwards. I hope yours feels better soon.

I'm really excited to see 161. I wore some pants yesterday that I haven't been able to comfortably get into since last summer and they slid right on no problem. I love that feeling! I'm hoping I'll be into my size 10s before we leave for China next month.

Shelly, sorry to hear about your dental issues! Doesn't sound fun! Glad you stayed strong!

Congrats to all our losers! I get so inspired by everyone's success.

It has been a busy week for me and my weight continues to bounce around with no real weight loss yet this month. Hopefully things settle down and the downward trend continues soon! My exercise has been more strenuous than usual so that is likely a factor....will keep it up though.

Shelly hope yer mouth feels better soon... that's the worst pain.
I think I figured out what the problem was yesterday, I forgot to take my blood pressure pill... I think it really made a difference. I'm just glad to see the scale go back down.

I recently went through that exact situation Shelly. Sadly, I dont think the crown fits right and am still getting pain. Grrrr. Funny how we all hate the dentist. Poor dentists lol

Going down the right way on the scale, and I was surprised at that. Last night was our first 2 hour dog agility practice, and my legs and back are sore and usually that means weight gain for me. Good note, my toy poodle only refused one contact and did his best times since we started almost 2 years ago, he may be ready for a trial this year!

153 this morning!?! I am completely unsure how that happened. But my guesses are...I was under the weather yesterday and after work I realized I had only had about 30oz of water, instead of the 60. So I think that plays a part in it.

On the upside...I did measurements at bootcamp this morning. I've lost 9.5" since January. The biggest change was my thighs each lost almost 2" each!!!

Can anyone advise me on how to beat this constant sinus problem??????

May 8: 133.5!!!!! WOOHOO! Finally got all that water weight back off from cheating .. Also drank tons of water yesterday and had a great 45 min cardio session at the gym which probably helped

It wasn't quite as bad as I thought--I weighed 136 this morning (starting Induction today), so that means only 11 lbs to my goal weight.

I would aim for lower (I loved being at 110 a few years ago) but I would *loathe* to endure the severe leptin crap-out from depleting my fat stores to that extent AGAIN.

Hello everyone! I am not new to low-carb or dieting and have lost and gained the same 20-30 lbs over and over again. I seem to have no control over carbs, and that is why I have been so unsuccessful with moderate carb plans . I have decided to finally try induction and get and stay in ketosis -- and hopefully finally feel free from cravings and appetite! Looking forward to great success and meeting you all. I would love to lose 10 lbs this month -- I know I am holding on to a lot of water!

Welcome Angie!! I know what you mean, eating any carbs makes me want more carbs, and it's all a vicious circle! I've found, that what works for me, is staying on induction and just keeping the carbs out of it. Good Luck and I'm glad you're joining us!

Thanks for the welcome! I hear about all these success stories about having no appetite and not craving carbs - and I can't understand how that is possible! I feel like I am constantly thinking about food and fighting off cravings. I would be ecstatic if I just could be normal and not think/crave sugar or bread!!!

"Mentally" I still sometimes crave the sweets and treats, but physically I don't. If that makes any sense. When I'm stressed, or upset, or bored, or whatever, my first thought is that I want junk food. BUT, that's all in my mind. My body isn't physically hungry for it. The longer I stay with it, the easier it gets to resist and to remind myself how I"ll feel if I cave in and eat it. During my weak moments, I come here to post and read. It really does help to keep me motivated.
