Lori...take a step back and look at the big picture and all the weight you lost. After nine months, do you know WHY you broke? Well, it's great that you got right back on the horse!

First started Atkins April 1, 2002.
Lost 40 pounds back then and maintained for almost 8 years...then carb creep crept. I've always been low carb, but went hard core again in March 2012.
Hey! You don't have to drink all that water!

Oof! I've been eating an eff-ton the last two days. I blame ovulation as I *always* have a couple days around that time where I eat more/the scale goes up. By the end of this month I want to see a solid (not fluctuating) reading of 133 or under. Good luck to everyone today!

I am planning an Off plan day-evening saturday. It's our 23rd anniversary! How have I put up with him 23 yrs? lol! Just kidding! I'm Very blessed to have him, he really is an Amazing guy! But we're going out to eat and movies and don't know exactly where yet. I want a steak place but he's not a big steak fan. I do plan on having dessert so that's the off plan part Lol. I'm not going to go crazy though and honestly if I found an LC alternative i'd probably do that. But it's a Planned off day so I don't feel to bad about it.. Now anyway Lol!

Shelly, you should definitely enjoy your off plan treat, and you have NOTHING to feel guilty about. That's what makes this a WOE, rather than a diet. Once in a while, it's OK to have something different, and get right back to your regular WOE. Enjoy every bite, and congratulations on 23 years together!

Thanks Mthrgoos! I haven't had Anything off plan since December so I figure i'll be ok. Honestly i'd Love to find a LC version of a dessert but from the menus of places i've looked at online it probably not happen. But oh well lol

I'm not going to weigh for a couple days. I had an off plan day yesterday, so I'm going to give myself a couple days lol. I decided to give myself an off day because I was feeling so lousy. It's rainy season here and the yellow dust from China is floating down. All of that combined is making my allergies really angry. I felt all dizzy and stuffy and gross and did not feel like eating meat. I feel better today though, so I'm back on plan! I hope everyone has a good weekend! I think I'll be back to weigh in on Monday

i posted my crabcake recipe in APril:

Crabcakes
MAYBE one carb per crabcake (and probably fewer):

Whisk two large eggs in a mixing bowl.
Then add the crabmeat, some salt and pepper, a little cayenne, paprika and bay seasoning. BUT please season as you see fit.
Mix carefully and gently with a fork. You don't want to break the crabmeat into smaller pieces.
I also added a whopping spoonful of mayonnaise as well as a healthy amount of lemon juice.

Get your non-stick pan pretty hot (on high), add some butter to coat the pan, and then drop big spoons full of the crab mixture in the pan ( I make three smallish crabcakes per 10" diameter pan). I turn the heat down to about medium high and when the bottoms are nice and brown, I carefully (They are fragile and sometimes i use the spatula and a big spoon to do it) turn them over, then turn the heat down to a little above medium, and let them cook a bit until the bottoms are brown too --- and then they're done.

slipped yesterday and ate 4 boneless wings from Pizza Hut. Went way over carb count for the day. On a good note... they were freakin awesome!!!!!!!!! I was so hungry for them and it hit the spot. I could have done a lot worse.... went over carb count for the entire day by 23 carbs. So I'm not going to beat myself up or feel bad, and didn't go up weight wise... so all is good.

DQ - Thanks for posting that recipe again. I really want to try these this weekend! You are absolutely correct about me needing to sit down and decide why the cheat happened. I have thought about it and I think I was just sick and tired of avoiding my favorite foods. In the cheat I had all three of my favorites, and now I'm good (maybe for another 9 months ).

I thought about the emotions involved and the stress that was in (or not) my life at the moment. And even though there are a lot of things going on in my life (as usual) I am not overly stressed about it. So, I have concluded that I just really WANTED to have some of my "old favorites".

Thank you all for listening to this therapy session. Now, back to your regular programming...

Gotta gig tonight, working tomorrow, gig Sunday afternoon - hope it doesn't RAIN!
Yesterday I went to a consignment shop near work and found (gasp) a pair of Pucci pants. They are size 0 (wah?) and a leetle snug, so they are my goal pants. (they are a big size 0 -- i don't even know how these small sizes work cause they're all different)

I'm so depressed today that I'm just ready to cry. The scale has gone UP the last 3 days, for a total gain of 5 1/2 pounds! It's not TOM, and my rings aren't tight like I'm retaining water, so I have no idea what's going on.

I eat the same foods, pretty much every single day, and I even eat at the same time every day. I drink the same amount every day. I know there's no carb creep, because the only things I eat are Meat, Eggs, Cheese, Mayo, and Coconut Oil. That's it. I even order the Duke's Mayo online because it's the only kind I can find that doesn't have sugar. I'm so diligent about what I'm eating and I just don't get it. Being stalled would be bad enough, but going UP???

I changed the batteries in the scale about 6 weeks ago, so I don't think that's it either.

I'm so upset, I was ready to stop and get an apple fritter on my way to work this morning. I didn't..... but I really thought about it.

I'm glad that you didn't get hold of an apple fritter! so congrats on that and LOOK AT HOW MUCH WEIGHT YOU'VE LOST. you are a pro!

But my question is -- what?
because you gained a few pounds you're going to PUNISH yourself my helping yourself to gain a few more? that is simply self- destructive behavior. You know that, however, and stopped it. But I'd really like to know - why did the thought of eating a fritter even pop into your head?

I'm so upset, I was ready to stop and get an apple fritter on my way to work this morning. I didn't..... but I really thought about it.
These types of things are so frustrating!

DQ, you're right, and I think it was just a retreat to the comfort of my old habits. Kind of like, "See, these new ways aren't working, so why bother?" Thankfully, those thoughts pop into my head, and I'm able to shut them down now, which I never did before. Not shutting them down is what got me to 300 pounds to start with. So I know it was a victory that when that little voice chimed in this morning, I shut it down.

And I do know the right things in my head. There's no possible way that I actually gained 5 pounds of fat. I don't eat any where near enough for that. I have to wait it out and just let the plan work and know that it will happen.... just not on my time table.

Honestly, just being able to come here and vent to you guys was much better, and healthier, therapy than that stupid apple fritter would have been.

You are very welcome! My 5K is on the 25th. I completed the C25K program about 2 weeks ago and I am looking forward to my "official" 5K Race on that day.
