April Goal 227

April 1-7 off plan
April 8 247.2
April 9 243

Off to a good start 4.2 pounds of water came right off.

Lorias: I am happy to be back

AllieB: Welcome to the second shot of Atkins, The golden shot is gone and water under the bridge. Golden shot is your first attempt at Atkins. I have the same thing happen to me. I have to be very extreme if I want the same results the second, third, fourth, and so on attempts at low carbing. Just stay with it and the weight will start falling off like someone is spraying you with water. I promise stick it out and the results will come. I have major stalls and my body fights me like crazy then all of a sudden a whoosh happens and all is well. Go back to other challenges and you will see the success that awaits those that stay the course. I lost 52 pounds in 58 days and in that time I had a 5 day stall and a 6 day stall. So really lost 52 pounds in 47 days. It works just give it time. And make sure you are staying on plan and exercising and it will fall off promise.

AllieBee, hang in there. The second time around is tougher for most people. Don't worry. You're hard work and perseverance will pay off. Post your typical menu. Maybe someone else can see something that might keep the results from showing up.

Way to go, kemp.

I was off plan for a while with a planned 5 day trip and then my FIL passing weekend before last.

But, Im starting over today, (only gained a few . Im up to 179.6) just not VLC. My body cant handle the lack of carbs. VLC leaves me narthargic, un focused and no energy at all.

I got a kickboxing workout in altho still sore from the weight work yesterday.

Lori, yikes JM ain't no joke. Good job on Shred.

You have no idea how happy I am to read this. I was feeling so low today, but your words of encouragement have strengthened my resolve to keep going. I was wondering if having attempted (and failed!) induction a few weeks ago had something to do with this stall. Like my body is saying, "Ohhhh, no, I ain't falling for this again!"

Thanks for the support, and congratulations on your amazing accomplishment!

Fluffy – Nice start!! That is always encouraging and motivating!

AllieBee – It is there waiting to fall off. Sometimes it takes a few more days than the last time. Do not be discouraged, it will come off.

Shelly – So good to “see” you. I feel like I’ve been away forever, but really it’s just not getting to do personals that have left me feeling like that. How is your workout routine going? Did the doc say you to go full force now?

Kemp – Nice Drop!

Reta – Not kidding, I forgot how tough she is. I am already scared from my planned Thursday workout!

AllieBee: It has taken me years to think this way, but the body does what the body wants sometimes. Just when I think I have it figured out I will stall and then even worse gain a couple. I hated it when people told me it was just water, but it is just that, water. Your fat cells hold lots of water sometimes, and sometimes does not matter what we do it just holds on to it until it thinks it is ready to get rid of it. When it does get rid we are super happy, when it holds we are super frustrated. I am happy you are sticking to it. Like I said I have done this many times and each time it is a little different. Your body will get in the groove you just have to give it a while, like a few weeks on plan no cheats and you will be surprised at the results. The scale is not the only measure of success on the plan. Clothes looser, overall feeling of well being and complements from people will soon be coming your way. Good luck.

REta: Go get em tiger.

I am doing a no carb day today to jump start me back into ketosis. I will try to get a strong weight workout in at some point today.

Menu today:::::

Meat and some Meat and I may sneak in some Meat if I am lucky at some point this afternoon after my meat for lunch!!!! LOL

Joy: Hang in there it will happen. I am on restart day 2 and already feel the ketosis kicking in, which means I am groggy and have a slight head ache, so tomorrow morning will be awesome. I can give up bad feelings today to feel awesome for weeks.

Pink: The first few pounds are always water weight and then a short stall. I stall sometimes also on restarts, but stay the course this works.

I just want to say how terrific you all are! I was so sad and discouraged this morning and you all turned my day around! To be going through this with people who are not only dealing with the same issues, but also the NICEST people in the world, makes this whole journey seem that much easier.

I know it's not going to be easy, and I know I need to stay the course. I am just looking forward to that first hint of success to reinforce that what I am doing is working.

Hang in there everyone, we can do this! And thanks for everything.

OMG, I know. Isn't it beautiful! I love being outside. I went for my first run outside a couple of weeks ago and it was HEAVENLY. I am SO tired of the treadmill in the basement! Ugh!

My weight hasn't changed in forever. I am really trying to drink more water. This is a huge problem for me (and my goal this month). calculators tell me 100+ oz and I just don't know how that's possible for me - I had about 80 today and whew, that was work. It's extra difficult because I work as a child's therapist in people's homes and most of them I barely sit on their couch let alone use their bathroom so I have to have time to stop somewhere in between clients

Exited by the weight loss today despite knowing it was just water. I am more thrilled that it hasn't been that hard to stay on plan and its day 3. My husband said I was even that cranky during this re-start.

Hello everyone! I'm back from my week in Japan, and it was FABULOUS. It was Extremely challenging to stay on plan, but i did! (doing the happy dance). I'll weigh tomorrow to see what. My feet are really swollen from the plane trip though. le sigh.

So about Japan. Eating was more than challenging. I don't eat a lot, so I could cope. But it was difficult. But I stayed on plan by getting some prosciutto every day at the Family Mart (that was lunch). Dinner: the first night we had salad in the hotel, with chicken slices. The second night we had sashimi. Yummy. The third night, a tiny square of sea bream and salad, shared. The fourth night, a salad and some marinated salmon. We ordered a third dish- which was supposed to be roast chicken, but it was more like a bun with some raw chicken inside. ick. Pickled everything was everywhere-- so some pickled daikon was OK. I bought what I thought was a hard boiled egg and it was NOT boiled at all -- har har. That was pretty much my diet for the week... I did go to a traditional tea ceremony -- green tea and a sweet treat -- which was a 2" diameter sweet that (i tried a tiny tiny slice)tasted like nothing.
OK -- well welcome to all newbies.
I see that one lesson here this month is that cheating does not help== at all. if I can go to japan and not cheat - NOT ONCE -- there is NO (really good) REASON to cheat here in the US. just saying.

Dairy Queen- What part of Japan did you visit? I live in Okinawa

I'm going on an 8 day trip to China the first of June and I'm a little nervous about what they're going to serve us to eat (meals are included). I think I'm going to bring a box of Atkins bars and maybe some packs of tuna to eat if there aren't many low carb options.

I use my own water bottle and refill it at gas stations. Most of the time they are more than happy to let you fill it at their fountain drink station. Just FYI...quick and easy!
