my menu yesterday, maybe ya'll can see where I went wrong to Gain
Breakfast- 2 coffees w/ hwc and a LC bar. Had to Run to my Mom/dads to take care of my cousins 6 mo old baby
Lunch- salad with grilled chicken w/ ranch.
Supper- 2 small ribs, 2 hot dogs (1 carb each) 1 piece of steak about the size of a small saucer. Maybe smaller. Water. Hubs grilled supper.
I know that's a lot of protein so could That make me gain? I'm so frustrated I Seriously wanna cry

Still stuck.......not a good month for me. I have been really good with my eating and doing moderate exercise. I guess my body just wants to stay at 182 for a bit! I was really hoping for another month like March. At this point I am hoping to just lose 2 more pounds, which will make it 5 pounds total for the month. Also,if I lose 2 more I will be down 40 pounds total since I began and that will make me happy enough to forget how bad this month has been on the scale!!

Shelly, hang in there! You have been doing great and you look amazing!!!

DQ, Your crab cakes look amazing!! I need to make those this weekend!

Stay strong everyone! You guys are my inspiration! Keep posting!!

Well, the first 3 pounds lost were my water weight gained from Easter lunch so I am not counting them! I was 185 Easter morning.....

I know weight loss is sometimes unpredictable though so I'm sticking with it!!!

Hello... I would like to join up if you don't mind me coming in at the end of the month? I did not start a clean induction until the 12th of the month and this Saturday will be 2 weeks totally clean. So far 7 pounds and getting that in the zone feeling back. It has been a long time coming and way too many other plans with bouncing all over the place. It has taking me a year of playing with the same 20 pounds. Not good for the body at all.

I lost 70 pounds back in 2001 and held it until 07 when some life events knocked me off track. Then it was a slow climb back up. Not whining about it just ready to stay on track until I hit goal. I know that being accountable helps to stay focused.

julie. OK OK. so it's three pounds. 3 pounds is THREE POUNDS!!! WAHOO!

i had a small epiphany today, and I'd like to know what you think. I started thinking about Kemp's beloved doughnuts, and I thought- well -- are they Krispy Kremes? Safeway? Gramma Moses' Original Doughnuts and Crullers, lovingly made by hand with homemade ingredients?

And then my mind wandered to fast food joints, and how i never, EVER EVER eat at any of them. The last time I had a hamburger from McDonald's, I was in third grade. I HAVE had scrambled eggs from McDonalds about three times - ever. Whenever I read a thread on this site about eating out (how can i eat LC in a restaurant) -- I never think fast food or chains -- I think - well, real restaurants. I HATE chains and I just won't go! So maybe my snobbism -- and I don't know where it came from -- helps me, in the long run. I have tried the wings at Pizza Hut (ugh - i'd NEVER eat a pizza from pizza hut! hahaha) and they are AWFUL. Ruth's Chris steakhouse-- yes a chain -- great steaks, yes, but expensive! But that's an out of the ordinary chain.

anyway -- maybe it wasn't an epiphany. But it was an interesting thought.
What if you could convince yourself (as I have) that chain restaurants are NEVER worth the visit? could that be helpful? I've eaten at IHOP once in my life, Burger King never, Wendy's never, Chipotles about three times (burrito bowls but I suspect more carbs than they say), Applebee's never, also never: Arby's, buffalo wild wings, chili's, domino's. KFC (no it take that back I tried KFC when i was in junior high), olive garden, outback, popeye's, quiznos, ruby tuesday, TGI Friday. I DO get salads from the Subway next door a few times a month - right before a gig -- but they aren't very good. I just hate the chains. I think the quality of the ingredients are way sub par. Anyway, just rambling...... but it was kind of interesting.

Lost 40 pounds back then and maintained for almost 8 years...then carb creep crept. I've always been low carb, but went hard core again in March 2012.

Dq: I love the ramble. We are on different planets when it comes to fast food. I love fast food, a lot. That is why I am in this situation. I now hate fast food. I avoid it at all cost. The temptation is to much to even go in one. I cook at home most of the time now. I do eat out on weekends and when away from home, but it is usually locally grown supported restaurants. Grain feed open ranged meats etc. Now I am rambling, oh well, always good to talk it out. OH and by the way when a doughnut is needed it is a Shipleys plain glazed. Local Houston place. They also have great kolaches.

Mamabear: Welcome to the challenge, a new month starts in a few days, you can get into the group action and be ready for the new month. Glad you are here.

Things that make you say HUMMMMM. Oh well, I am doing the hardcore weights now and did a strong workout yesterday. My body may just be holding water. I am really sore this morning and feel a little bloated so we will see tomorrow morning. Even though I know it is just a small bounce up it is just so discouraging when this happens. I am eating 2000 calories a day and I do not want to tweak anything. Still only 4 carbs all day yesterday. I have another hard workout schedule for today and am eating out tonight so It may take the weekend for all this to play out. I kinda miss my cardio now, if I was doing cardio I would probably be 5 pounds lighter. But I am building fat burning muscle. And even though a pound of fat weighs exactly the same as a pound of fat. Never understood how we say muscle weighs more than fat, it actually weighs the same. The exact same.

not a fan of fast food at all, so no problems there...am a fan of doughnuts, (but havent had one in about 8 months) and even then i think it was the first in a year or so....

Was posting on other thread and when typing this made me very happy.

The weights instead of cardio, mainly due to foot injury and cannot do major cardio, is working well. Even though the scale is not my friend any more, the clothes are very much my friend. Fitting so much better started in 44's and am now wearing 38's. Had to switch to my skinnier belts and the towels at the gym now fit around my mid section with ease. All that is what this is all about. Looking and feeling better. The scale will eventually catch up with me.

It appears everyone is doing well.

Shelly, Cheshire, & PF – Nice drop!!

Mamabear – Nice weight loss so far and

Tinamanni – that is all we can do is just our best! KUTGW!

Mydear – where are you? How are you?

Kemp – I am right there with you. I have been on plan all month, but I have started working out 6 days a week, alternating strength and cardio. I think that this is really screwing around with my weights. But I am feeling great and the overall trend is still down, so I’m trying to hang in there. I am frustrated because I am weaker than I have ever been in my entire life and lifting the free weights this go around has been very difficult on me. My encouragement is the progress I am seeing with continually looser clothes and better muscle definition.

Apr 26: 165.6 Ugh! Today is a rest day for my workouts, so I'm hoping to have a good drop tomorrow! I truly believe between the alternating run days and JM 30 day shred days I have ripped my muscles to shreds (pun intended) and they are holding lots of water to repair.

Only time will tell. Of course it could also be stress!

I'm dealing with a couple of teenage boys who have decided to exchange personalities! My oldest (17) has decided he doesn't want to be the responsible one anymore and is rebelling. While the younger one (15) is stepping up - cooking, cleaning, and helping with his two younger siblings. He has always been the wild child that never helped with anything. In addition, I am working my usual 40 hours a week (at my new job ), so training also, and pretty much being a single mom as my husband is still travelling!! My daughter was diagnosed with strep throat last week, then proceeded to reject the antibiotics and was in the doctor again this week…so is now on 2 antibiotics!! Ugh! Ok, enough! LOL it is really crazy at my house! By the way did I tell you that my 3 year old is the king of the castle! My world is so confusing right now

Lorias: Thanks for that. Your strength will come back, at least you can do the cardio, I am jealous. I hope the foot will be better next week and I can start mixing in the cardio. I am doing a 12 week program of working with weights, set workouts daily for 12 weeks straight should produce some serious results if I can stick with it. It is embarrassing a little bit when I can only lift very light weights to do all my reps. When I use to be a big bad football player and sling weights like they were cotton balls, now my weights get to heavy if I add a cotton ball to them. I just started week 3 yesterday and I am very sore after yesterdays workout. Expect the same tomorrow. All ready seeing some results, But no pain no gain, never thought I would say that ever again, but it hurts so good!!!.

Hello! How is everyone! I feel kind of guilty that I haven't been very active on the boards. It's getting nice outside so I don't spend as much time on the computer. Just wanted to give a quick update on how I've been doing this month. Started at 188 and am now 184. So I have been a little lax with my carb intake, more like 20-30 a day, and this has been making me maintain and lose slowly which I am happy with. I am also awaiting my Garcinai Cambogia pills as seen on DR OZ, my sister has been taking them and dropped 5 lbs without even trying and she is already so tiny. I'll let everyone know how that works out for me.

Hi I just started yesterday I bought ketostix and it says I am in moderate ketosis already, Is this possible. I am excited I remember when I did this years ago (20 yrs) that being in ketosis was a good thing I didnt think it could happen so fast, possibly because I am usually only eating carbs and no protein that it happened so quickly. Anyway i dont really know my starting weight I refuse to gert on the scale but hopefully I will feel a difference in 7 days and next thursday i will get ion the scale. Just wanted to mark my spot here =)
