DQ, I also wonder where Spring is! It was 45 degrees this morning! This is crazy weather! I am sure your weight bounce is just water weight!

Great job MtherGoos, Cheshire Girl, PF, pinkcadillac, tina and Lori! You all are doing great, staying on plan and staying strong! Keep it up!

This has been my slowest weight loss month so far! Technically I've only lost 3 lbs. since the first 3 I lost were Easter bloat from my off-plan lunch Easter Sunday. I may have to tweak things again since I haven't really done anything different from last month. Thankfully I am still very motivated to stick with it. In my past attempts with Atkins I usually start to weaken at the 3 month point and often end up quitting and returning to my gluttonous ways shortly thereafter. I am almost through my 4th month now and so far I have no desire to quit. I am hoping to stick with this WOE forever. I only plan to add limited fruits, nuts and grains when I switch to maintenance. I hope to avoid sugar and wheat forever! Fingers crossed that the scale starts to move again!

Julie: It is amazing that the book says that 4-6 weeks without a loss is considered a stall. Not in my book, my book says 3-6 days. When I stall I tweak and it is never the same tweak that gets things moving down again. In other words best of luck and I am rooting for you. I am dreading my first major stall(over 6 days). When it happens I will freak out and tweak all kinds of things, more food, less food, more exercise, no exercise, weights instead of cardio, cardio instead of weights etc. Let me know what works, and way to go on staying on plan for 4 months. On April 28 will be 3 months, with cheating and stalls I have still lost 40 plus pounds so I am happy with that. I am also happy with the fact I am still on plan. I am inspired that you are still on plan. KUTGW

Thanks Kemp! I feel the same! I've had 3 cheat meals in almost 4 months but I've managed to lose 38 pounds. I just get frustrated how certain things work one month but not the next. I exercised like crazy in the beginning and then stalled so I cut back exercise. That worked well in March but not in April. So starting last weekend I've increased exercise again and we will see what happens. My diet has been pretty consistent the whole time so I really don't want to change anything there. If anything, I may try adding some calories to see if that may be an issue as I have been eating less lately due to lack of hunger. Fingers crossed.........

You keep up the good work too! We all inspire each other!

So up a bit today but yesterday I had my birthday celebration with cake and pizza and deliciousness. I don't feel guilty. I am back on plan today with no hesitation. Shelly: Jeeezzz, even I am annoyed at your body holding fluid but you always seem to stay the course and that is motivating to me.

Passionatefire: Glad you enjoyed yourself. We can tell ourselves that this is our new lifestyle, or that those foods make us tired etc. But you have to enjoy life, life is short. I tell you what, I could never imagine never eating a taco with a regular shell, or a basket of chips with tasty salsa, or a Wonderful cheese enchilada. So glad you are right back on.

Tinamanni: Happy belated birthday!!! Glad you enjoyed the cake and pizza. I am going out to a really nice place here in town on Friday. I am going to stay mostly on plan, no desserts, but if the scallops come on a bed of risotto all bets are off!!! LOL

Well almost back to pre-weekend weight. Hit the gym yesterday and will do the same today. I am really tired of the food choices right now and am having a hard time staying on plan. I want to lose these last eleven pounds so I can start adding nuts and peanut butter. I have now been on VLC for almost 3 on months. I know if I would not cheat I would already be there. So I am going to enjoy the rest of this month with staying strong during the week and enjoying the weekends. Then starting for May's challenge I plan to stay solid till memorial day. Going on a little mini beach trip Memorial day weekend and want to be well into the 210 range by that weekend.

My plan for once I reach goal is to keep eating this way 75 - 80% of the time. It really helps with my PCOS so this is about way more than weight loss for me (one reason I'm not too upset about the slow moving scale). We leave next Friday for Mexico and I know that I can eat on plan for the most part and eat foods that I really enjoy. I do not plan to limit the Sols though and will enjoy a few margaritas (on the rocks). I'm also planning on bringing down the Pat O'Brien's hurricane mix I bought back in November to make welcome drinks with, I figure if we're sharing among the 10 people staying at the hotel I won't be able to go overboard with the super sugary drink.

This is my absolute favourite meal in Playa del Carmen, I can barely finish the meat portion so there is no issue with me leaving the potato behind. It is called arrachera norteña and is flank steak topped with chorizo sausage and cheese....can't wait!!!!arrachera norteña.jpg

Good morning everyone!! Finally, it's supposed to be sunny and relatively warm today, but I'll be stuck inside all day. Boo hoo for me!

when i was on the eastern shore i got a pound of lovely crab meat and a boiled and frozen in shell lobster. it was $12 and about 1.5 pounds. i let it thaw and thought i'd take out the meat and sautee it. well, it didn't work out so well and i'm not sure what I did wrong.
By the time i had squeezed all the water out of the gray meat and sauteed the not-a-lot of what was left, i had no appetite. Oh well....the plan is crab cakes tonight!!

That looks great PF!

PF and Kemp, I envy you that you can have cheat meals/days and get right back on plan. I am gun shy, because the last time I went off plan I ended up heavier that what I was before.

I have to admit I have had a few cheat bites here and there, but not entire helpings or plates of off plan foods. That's just scary for me.

Lorias: Every time I go off plan I have to make a strong commitment to get back on. I have done this diet so many times and the reason is when cheats go bad. One weekend turns into days or months. I still have not been able to accept the fact that I will never have another doughnut. I do not care that it makes me feel bad, I do not care that it is not good for me. It fricking taste awesome. I know that I must either accept the fact that I can eat foods I like(or can accept) and never again eat the foods I love and be thin. Or eat the foods I love and be fat. My current plan is to get to goal weight and be working out enough to be able to do the maintenance part of this diet and have foods I love weekly. I am hoping that if I continue to work out while at my goal weight I will actually be able to enjoy a few foods I love. We will see.

i'm really tired of trying to figure it all out....i was at a pretty good weight last summer, but by having bites of things here and there over about 6 months have gotten bigger again...my clothes dont fit, and i hate how i look right now....i did not really ever go off plan that much, but somehow the little slips and bites here and there piled the weight right back on....so as of whatever day i started strict induction, (march something)... i have not had one bite of anything i shouldnt, (not even one peanut),and i exercise pretty much everyday, and i am only down 5 pounds....its very disheartening....not sure what comes next, but for now i am pretty committed to the plan, (even tho its not working)...(how dumb is that? lol)

pink - what i think is - five pounds is five pounds and be glad you're not carrying around that sack of flour any more!

Kemp -- my trick (re: never eating doughnuts again) is to convince myself that --- It would have to be a darned fantastic doughnut to entice me to even take just one bite - IF i were at or below goal weight. But until i get to goal weight, fuggettaboutit!

And,unless it is the most delicious doughnut ever made, lovingly baked or fried by the greatest doughnutmaker in the universe, I can Always walk away from it. Because - seriously - I already know what it tastes like and I can live without it.

You have lost 5lbs though and that's great (and more than I have!)

Hi all,

Well I have tweaked today, I've cut down to only 2 coffees with HWC, I've had less proteins and more fats at lunch and a much smaller dinner.

So today's foods

Hard boiled egg with mayo
Coffee with co and HWC
Small salad with avacado and 4 small cubes of feta cheese
Babybel cheese
Small piece of roast chicken and a rashers of bacon with mayo
Coffee with HWC
Lots of water
Several teas no milk
