Coconut milk question!

Hello, I'm Sarah and I'm new :)

I would like to know if I can use unsweetened coconut milk on extended induction? The one I have has 1g carbohydrates per 240ml.

Heavy cream stalls me and I really love tea and can not have it black,I just want to use it in my tea/coffee... please advice!

Thank you for your reply! I was also wondering whether anyone here uses coconut milk and does it stall or make them gain any weight?

I've never had trouble with it. But usually only use it to cook with, not daily in coffee.

I used it when I started but not so often now - try a teaspoon in your morning coffee and also use it in cooking :)

What brand are you guys buying? I want some so bad but cannot find anything without sugar loaded into it :( Really would love some ideas....

I went to a health food/natural food store and there were two kinds of coconut oil - they said I should get the unrefined kind for cooking and eating with, which I got. It is the right one. I bought a 1lb jar of it for about $8, two weeks on I still have some left and I use it alot.

Does it taste and smell like coconut or just oil? That is what I am afraid of.. this stuff costs so much that I dont want to buy one and have it taste like pure oil and not the aroma of coconut :) let me know?

I like the blue diamond unsweetened coconut milk. I also like the silk unsweetened vanilla almond milk for lattes. I haven't noticed that it is causing any troubles with weightloss

Vanilla almond milk in lattes sounds delish! Care to share how you do that?

SweetMe678 04-12-2013 09:19 AM

We have an espresso machine. I brew the espresso and use a little liquid splenda or sf davinci syrup, then just steam the almond milk, like you would regular milk. It actually froths better than milk. I just have a cheap 30 machine, but it's lasted for months now, making 4+ lattes and mocha's a day :D

Oops, didnt check back here for a while...

KIWI: I saw a brand of unrefined CO in Woolworths in the asian food section. You could try that- it was also around $8.

It tastes like oil, to be truthful- really oily. There is a slight coconut aroma but not much taste.
