Why have I convinced myself that Tomatoes are a no no during induction?
I thought i read somewhere in DANDR that tomatoes weren't recommended during induction?
Did I make that up?! ![]() |

Well I don't know what to do! I guess I'll leave them out until I've kicked my metabolism into high gear!

Tomatoes were added to induction not that many years ago, but be careful... Just one cup has abotu 5 net carbs.

I'm not touching them! Don't you worry! I'm a tomato lover, but when I first started in 2003 it was a no no then.. So as a whole I won't do it. =D

my grandparents grew tomatoes back in the day, and we used to pick them and eat them like apples. They were Delicious! and now, I can't eat what they sell in the stores today!

I still follow DANDR from 2002, and I believe tomatoes are on the allowed, but limited, list. More like a garnish than a main part of the meal. I'm not 100% on that though.
IMO, the newer editions are too lenient, and allow way too much processed crap. I'm not a fan of the direction the company has taken since Dr. Atkins died. ![]() |

I've had so much pico de gallo since I started Atkins last May, I'm pretty sure I smell like a taco. |

Right! Thanks, Trillex.
I'm doing an extended Induction, so I allow myself small amounts of things like tomatoes, onions, red or yellow bell peppers, and so on, and I try to think of them as flavor enhancers, not main veggies. |
