Rather Than

I started Atkins induction last November. I did really well until Januaury 3rd right after I started a new job at night. I was tired and hungry and ate what was convenient. And at first it was "oh this granola bar only has ten net carbs, that is safe for now" My new job involves about two hours of constant exercise. But then I fell off completely. High Cal/High Carb foods became the norm. I was still losing weight though, so I rationalized it.

NOW I am not really losing weight. my body has adjusted to the amount of exercise and I miss the energy I had from Atkins. I've been cutting back the high est carb foods the last few days. Preparing to go back into induction. And I started planning a carb blowout. french toast, enchiladas or lasagna (or maybe both?) chips, cake etc. Then I stopped. . . what if. . . rather than a carb blowout, I planned a lowcarb feast day to kick it of? Spinach and Swiss cheese omelets, rib-eye steak, shrimp cocktail, a loaded bacon cheeseburger with a couple slices of tomato.

Tomorrow is super busy, so I"m gonna hit the grocery store today and prep a few things. Who needs a carb blowout? not this LC er :jumpjoy:

Thanks! It went really well, although I didn't eat all I bought ;) It did mean that I had super nummy foods the next day though.

This time I don't want to just pay lip service to 'a healthier lifestyle'.

For the past year and a half I have had some serious health concerns come up. First I went gluten free, which helped some. But then I tested as reactive hypoglycemic or pre diabetic. I was tired all the time and hungry within an hour of eating. That decided it for me. I really looked back through my eating history and noticed that I always lost weight on Atkins and ALWAYS felt good, lots of energy. I know that Atkins stabilizes blood sugar. Within three weeks, my am glucose readings were normal and post meal were normal again too.

I dont want to look back 5 years from now and think to myself, if only I had stuck with it!

Again thank you all for your encouragement.
