March Challenge!

Here's to another month! A day early, but I wanted to get the new thread started. Post all goals...weightloss, exercise, eating plans, etc.

My goals for March are to get more focused on my eating plan/tracking and concentrate on my workouts. Minimum of 3 x's a week on weights and cardio/walk 5x's a week. Weight loss will be a bonus. (Onderland would be awesome, but I'm not holding my breath)

I'll come back tomorrow and post my starting weight. Good luck!!!

I am with you! I hope to eat well with no slip ups (planned or not) and I hope to expand my exercise plan to include both the treadmill and weight lifting. I have managed to get myself down to 2 or less cups of coffee per day and I have cut out diet sodas in the last month (used to drink 3-4 a day). Will try to limit coffee to 1 cup per day this month. I will also try to limit processed LC food like Atkins products and SF candy. They really help with sweet cravings and they are very convenient but i think they help stall me. I lost 6 lbs. last month but I will set my March goal a little higher to further motivate me. My weight loss goal for March will be 10 lbs. Look forward to going on this journey with everyone!

I'm in!!!!

March goal not sure - think I will go for a more realistic 158?

I'm also going to start a little walking now that spring is almost here - I used to run 3 miles every morning and have worn away my knee cartilage so I have to be careful

See you all tomorrow for our first March weigh in

Starting March 1st...

Hello all!

I am starting Atkins 72 tomorrow. I am just plain tried of being fat, and finally motivated enough to do something about it. I'm going to the store tonight to buy what I need, and in the morning, its bacon and eggs.

Anyone interested in buddying up for support?

I'd definitely like to join in! I've been anxiously waiting for the March Challenge to start so that I'd have some daily accountability!

I'm going to set my goal at 275. I'm hoping that's not overly optimistic. My kids have spring break this month, so it may be more of a challenge to stay on plan, but they're very supportive and helpful, so hopefully it won't be a problem.

I'm really looking forward to a great month!!

Welcome Mthergoos and Scarlette!!!

Well February was a great month for sure. I am going to step it back for this month and go with 228, that is only 14 pounds, but I know that next weekend will be a big off plan weekend. I loss over 26 pounds in Feb., I do not expect that trend to continue. I plan to stay on plan till next Friday afternoon then all bets are off. It is my annual family crawfish, bba crab, boiled crab, steamed clams, boudin balls, fried shrimp, fried oysters, fried okra, fried crab fingers, Seafood gumbo, steamed king crab, dungeness crab and fried french fries and tatter tots, etc.!!!!! Yes I have no plans of not eating fried foods seeing as I am the head cook for this massive menu. It is all cooked homemade and is so delicous. OH yea about 20 beers also!!! LOL But plan to hop right back on Sunday after the lunch. So that is my plan looking forward to a great month of losses!!!

So, here we go. March goal: 195

March 01 - 204.1

Bit tired of eggs by today, so I think I'll have an Atkins shake this morning. Gonna take my last fat bomb to work to munch on, then it's gym, and I'll probably fry up some chicken breasts when I get back home.

March goal 228

March 1 242

Stayed the same as yesterday but had a 2000 calorie day usually keep it around 1500 or less. I am trying to keep the body guessing by doing high days then low days but in not specific order. Last time I did this plan I tried to just do 1200 or less everyday and I think it put me into starvation mode and stalled me more often. So I am going to give this a try and see if the results are better. I was just hungry yesterday and made some high fat high calorie food choices due to the fact I was on the road all day. Oh I am babbling so off to work, will check back in later.

Happy Friday! Happy March! Happy New Challenge!

Kemp - you are definitely my inspiration to keep going. You are so dedicated with your eating and exercise. Plus you're a Texan (Houstonite to boot), so all around an inspiration!

My March goal is 144.

Good morning! I've decided to do the March challenge but don't know if I will weigh everyday, because it was just making me nuts. So I think I will have a more realistic goal of 4 pounds this month, because that's all I can seem to lose is about a pound a week no matter what I do.

March goal:187

3/1: 191.6

Good morning all and Happy March!!!!

Welcome to the new comers, perhaps you will bring some of us who are happy to see February go some luck in March!

So I think I am really going to focus on working out effectively and keep food simple. I want to focus on good healthy food. Simple proteins, vegetables at lunch and dinner for sure. Pare back on dairy, but I will keep my 1 stevia per day because it makes me happy. I also don't want to get sucked into casseroles. I tend to cook for the week when I work and a casserole is a good lunch options, but not quite yet. Simplicity is going to be key. And I think a lot of easy to prep frozen veggies!

Trying for 3 meals and no snacks, but I do start a new job in 2 weeks and my days will be getting longer so I might need more food to keep going throughout the day.

So weigh in to start March - I think I might weigh each day (until it makes me crazy of course!)

March goal - 160 (but I really want 158)
3/1 - 168
Workout hard and keep food simple! Will be my mantra this month!

Here's to a wonderful March to all!!!!!!

March goal (also old feb goal): 165 ( would actually love to see 159)

March 1: 171.8

I was losing about 10 pounds per month before febrary. Then late Jan bronchitis hit, antibiotics followed, workouts stopped and the only thing going for me was I stayed on plan.

Well, bronchitis is gone and I need to get off my butt and get back to the workouts. Starting today! I am also participating in a meat and egg challenge to try and get past this stall.....I started Feb at 172 and ended at 171.4, so valid stall in my book and some drastic measures need to be taken.

I look forward to reading about all of your successes. Welcome to all the new posters!

Thanks Roxy. I hope to keep the momentum up. I will be hitting the gym today at some point. Hoping to drop 3 pounds over the weekend so I can have a better chance to win the challenge at my health club. 40 day challenge but I started 5 days late. If I can get the 3 pounds off it will be a total of 35 pounds for the challenge. So have been really pressing to get the fat off. First place is 6 months free dues, that is 1800 bucks and I would love that. I would take second also that is 800 bucks to spend at the cafe or the protein/juice/energy drink bar. Roxy you can do it, us Texans like to do it big!!! You are from Houston also?

Dairyqueen: Boudin balls is a rice and pork sausage with the casing peeled away, cut off a 1 inch piece, flatten insert small piece of american or pepper jack cheese make into a ball, dip in egg mixture, dip in flour, a couple of times for a nice flaky crust then deep fry for a few minutes, cheese melts in to the rice and pork, oh my God I already want one. This is another reason I am pressing so hard to get the fat off, I am afraid of the gain on that weekend. Going to try and get up early on both mornings down there and get a nice exercise in on the beach and do some basice calastenics(sp). We are going to kill it this month!!!!! Lets do this!!!

Good Morning & Happy March!!!!

Wecome to all the new posters & it's great to see some of the old members as well!

I'm super pumped for this month...I just know that I'm gonna kill it. February seemd to be slow, but I'm confident that March will be better. I'm gonna dial in my menu a little better this month and still focus on my workouts.

Menu today:
B - boiled chicken, yogurt
L - egg drop soup
D - italian beef/cheese over broccoli

coffee & water to drink, maybe 1 green tea

3/1/13 - 208.8

3/1 - 148

If/when I am allowed to add a siggy it will say my march goal is 144, secretly 140.

B - just had the innards of a terrible breakfast taco. It was supposed to be bacon, egg and cheese. It was more like a tiny piece of bacon and 1 tablespoon of egg. Thank goodness I am so far into Atkins that eating the tortilla isn't even an option. I'm more annoyed I wasted $1.79
L - qtr chicken leg
D - probably toppings of a pizza and salad.

Didn't make it to bootcamp this morning. My husband was interviewed on the local tv station and had to leave the house at 4:30am. I thought it was a fair trade- me no bootcamp for him getting promoted. The sad part? I slept through his interview. He did say it was barely 25-30 seconds, but still I'm proud of him.

Kemp - I'm from the north side of Houston but live in Austin now. The house bleeds orange.

Hi mydear!! how've you been??? spring is around the corner and it's time for some new goal clothes! I want some brightly colored pencil slim pants!
Kemp - your boudin balls sound fantastic! I bet after your foodfest that you could come up with a LC version --
I am wondering if anyone uses a deep fryer OR one of those low fat fryers?

I wonder if you could use well drained "cauli-rice" in place of the rice and then coat in coconut flour..... hmmm, might have to give this one a try sometime...

I use a deep fryer. I much prefer my wings deep fried rather than baked! I do not use it as much as I used to when eating SAD. Then it got used a lot for homeade fries! Now I only do it about once a month for the kids when they won't quit asking for them

We bought a deep fryer a couple of months back but it's way too small! Can only do about 5 wings at a time so I end up standing in front of it for over an hour - if I use the oven for my wings I can leave them

Lori- have you tried deep frying chicken legs instead of wings? MUCH cheaper especially when feeding kids & taste fantastic too.
