You guys are all doing so well! Great inspiration for me.
Roxymom - That is the best when you can try on clothes and truly enjoy it. I'm finally feeling better in my clothes and love that my stomach isn't hanging out as much! Kizz - I'm jealous you are in the 180s! I can't wait to get there...it makes you feel like you're finally sort of "far away" from the dreaded 200s! Kemp - Congrats on your third place win! Nothing like a little competition to get people motivated and sounds like you couldn't have done any better! Mothergoose - You are doing the right thing working out. Your measurements will show your true losses probably before the scale catches up. Great job!

Congrats to everyone who stayed on plan or had a loss!
6 day stall for me......so I'm a little pouty today. I've been staying on plan and working out so I have to keep tweaking things until I find the magic formula for me. This is my third month this time and I am finding that what worked the first month didn't work the second month and now I will have to make more changes! It will be worth it in the end! B: coffee with HWC and DaVinci, 2 deviled eggs L: pizza soup D: Atkins shake S: chia pudding, 3 deviled eggs Lots and lots of water! March goal: 185 Weight 3/1: 196 3/2: 194 3/3: 194 3/4: 194 hoping this isn't the beginning of another stall........ 3/5: 194 :-( 3/6: 194.........again!! 3/7: 194 :-(

Welcome Reta! This is a great forum with awesome supportive people! I've been afraid to work out a lot too, it has caused me to stall, but that makes no sense, so maybe I was just stalling anyway and attributed it to working out? Hmmmmmm....
Roxy-Thanks, I certainly hope so. I made it a 4 lb goal instead of a 6 lb goal like last month because that is much more realistic for me. So great to try on new clothes! I get the catalog to that store, and you are right, so expensive! But cute cute clothes Kemp-Yes, it's the age thing I guess. I also read somewhere, that the first go-round of Atkins is the "golden" opportunity. It's harder every time after. Maybe our bodies wise up to it Cheshire-Thanks! I hope I am. Though I wanna trade numbers...you game? I figure, hell, you're doing so good, we could just swap and you'd be back to the 160's in no time |

Kizz, a while back I had a make-your-own pizza night with friends. I used portabello mushrooms for my crust. Afterwards I had a lot of ground beef, Italian sausage, mushrooms, onions, black olives and green peppers left over. I didn't want it all to go bad so I threw it all in the crock pot with a carton of beef broth (no carb) and 1 jar of low carb pizza sauce (Nature's Promise). I let it all cook together a few hours and it made a wonderful pizza soup. Once it was done I put single servings in ziplock sandwich bags and froze them for easy lunches. I have enjoyed it so much I will make another batch soon!

Cheshire...i know you're eating cleanly, but let's see exactly how much of everything you're eating? Do you use a tracker?
Mothrgoos...you've lost 4 pounds in a week! That's fantastic!!! Step back and look at the big picture and don't stress! Sometimes you just have to plod along like the tortoise, cause you WILL lose the weight! Kizz. .. Most of the flavored vodkas have 0 carbs except for, perhaps, the Twists, and, for sure, Three Olives, all of which have 2 carbs per ounce. |

Been working out 3 times a week, I'm sure that has something to do with the slower weight loss as well. Gonna have to start measuring once a week - good thing I measured some key areas before starting so I can compare it to. Happy international women's day, ladies. |

Congrats Cheshire Girl and Straphe! KUTGW!
Lori, thanks! I do work out on the treadmill 5-6 days a week (3 miles at 6% incline) since I started this WOE. I think my stalls (which are frequent) are more diet based as my workouts have been consistent while my diet has been more varied (all on plan). I have had to keep changing things up as my body's response to varied fat/calorie/carb combos has not been consistent. I'll keep trying though! Hope everyone has a great day! March goal: 185 Weight 3/1: 196 3/2: 194 3/3: 194 3/4: 194 hoping this isn't the beginning of another stall........ 3/5: 194 :-( 3/6: 194.........again!! 3/7: 194 :-( 3/8: 193 :-) |

Wow guys way to go on some of these losses. Everybody so far today is breaking stalls and dropping the pounds way to go everyone that is great to see.
March Goal 228 March 1 242 March 2 242 March 3 240 March 4 238 March 5 238 March 6 237 March 7 237 March 8 238 (WTH) Total losses so far: 36 pounds in 39 days!!! Myself however am going in the wrong direction. I am deep purple on the strip this morning, I worked out, I did not drink any beer last night, stayed super on plan, only carb was from a little side salad with bib lettuce and a few cucumbers. I did up my calories to 1800 yesterday to keep the body guessing, my body I guess decided to add an extra pound???????????????????????????? So I guess 1200 calorie days or less is the only way to keep the scale going down. That is not a lot for a guy my size working out as much as I do, but the proof is in the pudding. That is now FACT. I mean FACT. I upped calories and I upped my weight, FACT!!!! It is not that hard to do 1200 calories or less a day. So I am going to enjoy my weekend of debauchary, even going to have those deserts I so want and just enjoy and hopefully that will shock the system and get me back to a pound a day loss when I get back. Sorry so down this morning but I am doing what all the books say, vary calories, workout and you will lose weight. In my experience that is not true at all at this point in the plan. I just proved it to myself and happy about it, at least now I really now that adding calories even if you keep carbs low addeds up to fat gain not loss like they say. Everyone have a great day I know I am.

Good morning! So great to see everyone's happy news!
I am skipping my weigh in this morning and I am yet to decide on if I will weigh in over the weekend. I was totally in a funk yesterday because I was up a pound. I can't let the scale control my day, I have things to do and a daughter to take care of and can't get crazy. March goal 160 (would love 158) 3/1- 168 3/2- 169 3/3- 168 3/4- 167 3/5- 167 3/6- 166.5 3/7- 167.5 3/8- n/a I also properly set up a tracker yesterday, and did some research on carb, fat and protein percentages as well as calories. Here is where I netted out, but am not sure I can hit all of these percentages? Mainly the amount of fat within the calorie range. Myplate came up with 1300 calories. Then I did the math for my protein needs from the Dr. Pinney formula and went from there. For me I got 1300 calories 16 carbs (I am going with net here) - 5% 70 -81 grams of protein - 25% 101 grams of fat - 70% Yesterday I ended up at 1500 calories 91 grams of fat -60% 12 net carbs -5% 119 grams of protein -35% I am to sure what to make of all of this yet. I am just going to eat how I have been and commit to tracking and see how things shake out. It's the only way I see learning about my body and how it reacts. Sorry for the long self indulgent post, hope everyone has a great day!

Wow everyone seems to be doing exceptional this month. I guess February was just ho-hum for us all. Well minus Kemp who rocked it!
Ok so I am actually NOT looking forward to the weekend. Saturday and Sunday usually means me getting way too lax on my eating. I am going to have to stay strong and focus. We have 2 birthday parties to attend for our kiddo. As long as I say no to the cake I'll be good. I might make some deviled eggs and bring those to snack on. Any other food ideas? And yeah trying on the clothes was fun. It keeps me focused on the weight loss goals. I have a shirt I bought in 2008 that I have never had a chance to wear (still has the tags on it!) because I got pregnant around the same time and then have never been able to fit into it again. It is hanging in my closet as incentive to go for it!

My jeans are fitting good today. I stayed under 20 net yesterday.
Down .4 from yesterday. I did workout today, so I'll see how that affects me on tomorrow's weigh in. I can't believe I ate tuna, egg and mayo for breakfast. Can you say 'stinky' breath? |

Julie – Congrats on the drop
![]() Passion – Congratulations on the milestone ![]() Kemp – I can’t help but think that your weight would continue to go down and level out if you continued to go with 1800 calories. Your loss is amazing and has been a true inspiration. However, I think that if you did desire to add in more veggies now and again, you would continue to have an average weekly loss. KUTGW! Shelly – ![]() Labmini – I try to stay around the same percentages that you listed for your goals. If I get toward the evening and I see that my fat percentages are low, I will usually add sourcream to my evening protein or have a “cream soda”, which is just ¼ cup of heavy cream with about 6-10 ounces of diet pop. Do you have any ideas you have found to add the fat during the day? Roxy – great idea on the devilled eggs! I went out last night and looked at some tops, but didn’t see anything that caught my eye. I am going shopping tomorrow with all my kiddos to a much larger city, so maybe I’ll find something there. Mar 1: 171.8 M&E fast/ treadmill Mar 2: 168.0 M&E fast/ treadmill Mar 3: 169.2 M&E fast/ treadmill Mar 4: 168.4 M&E fast/ treadmill Mar 5: 167.8 M&E fast/ treadmill Mar 6: 166.4 M&E fast/ treadmill, BUT I cheated on the M&E fast and had 2 servings of salted roasted peanuts AND guess what happened - Mar 7: 168.4!!! Mar 8: 167.2 Ok, so I was looking through the posts and I guess I didn’t end up posting my weight yesterday. Oh, well. Here it is today for all to see ![]() Having a busy weekend with the kids again, but looking forward to some shopping and eating out. Thinking about Olive Garden and Buffalo Wild Wings! YUM! Date with the Treadmill tonight!

March Goal ~ 275
3/1 - 288.6 3/2 - 286.6 3/3 - 286.2 3/4 - 284.8 3/5 - 284.8 3/6 - 284.6 3/7 - 284.8 3/8 - 284.6 Obviously not any less frustrated today! I put my food in a food tracker yesterday and it came up with 67% fat, 33% carbs, and right around 1150 calories. That sounds like I'm right where I should be, but still the scale has given me basically the same number for 5 days! However, if I look at the big picture, today is the 2 week mark since I started, so that's still 16 pounds down in 2 weeks. Unfortunately, most of that came off in the first week, and the 2nd week has kind of sucked. Yes, I realize that the cheese may have to go, but that's my favorite thing about this way of eating, that I can eat my cheese. I'm going to try and quit the mayo first and see if that helps. I can't imagine that the mayo is holding me up, but who knows. On the plus side, it looks like everybody else is doing great! Kemp, be sure to let us know how your weekend goes so that we can live vicariously! ![]()

Hi Everyone!
Just checking in to see how everyone is doing and " WOW " to just about everyone!! Cheshire girl great job!!! I have been staying on plan and as of last night have kept my 5 lb loss for the past week. I have been fighting a cold for the last several days and haven't been very hungry. I am finding that I do better keeping my fat % at a lower level then I was doing. I am eating, using or adding the fat but not going crazy trying to find ways to add more. Today: B: protein shake with kale - 2 sausage cheese balls ( this is a new one for me) L: salad with ground turkey and cheese - no dressing D: IDK - meeting some friends for dinner. Maybe I should eat first. The place doesn't have alot by the way of LC. They have a very small menu and their choices are not that great. Fitting into clothes that have been in your closet for years is a wonderful feeling. ![]() I know what the feeling is when you keep looking at them when you can't! ![]() If I can get down just a few more lbs or so I should be able to wear about 4 more pairs of jeans that I own. Right now I am managing to get into 2. It is like getting a new wardrobe when you can start fitting into the smaller clothes again. But I do think it is wonderful to go shopping and buy something new. I ususally get depressed and end up buying something for my kids instead. At least someone is well dressed!! ![]() Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and good luck with staying on plan. Kemp : Enjoy your new you and have fun with the weekend. You might not end up eating as much as you think. Labmini: I hear you about letting your weight control your day and your mood. Sometimes when I check my weight first thing in the morning and don't see a loss or I have a gain I am in such a bad mood all day. I really have to stop letting my weight control me like that. |
