Good morning everyone. Looks like a good on plan weekend for all, including some wine!!! Love it!

I am in a better place today because I did finally lose a pound. I took 250 mg of magnesium but nothin yet so I think I will up it to the recommended 500. I feel like once I figure out this regularity thing I'll really be moving down.

Kemp- good luck we are all pulling for you and can't wait to hear the results
Pen pen - great weigh in
Cheshire girl - happy birthday!
Julie, way to hang with the meat and egg fast!
Chelsey- way to weigh and face the scale- getting started is the hardest at times!
Princessmommy- we miss you too!
DQ- enjoy Miami!
Kizzy- hope you feel better, I suffered with migraines since I was a teenager and only got them under control trying different birth control pills cause of the hormones.

And to all that I missed, great job and welcome new members of the challenge!!!!

Thanks to all for posting your workouts and food. I think I am going to try some chia pudding and just get on the treadmill or at least some serious cardio!!!!

Have a great day all!!

March goal: 256

March 3rd: 268.0
March 4th: 265.8 (almost to my low! 0.4 lbs to go!)

Good luck today Kemp!

PenPen- I agree with the prices at games, crazy! I have also started to eat really good before get togethers and events that may have food at them. I am still in the restarting phase so I may be tempted, but then I keep something in my purse to ward off any cravings! Cant tell you how happy I am to be home today...this weekend's temptations were killers

Shelly- I agree with the low rise pants, I have a pair (to be honest, I didnt try them on and just bought them!) and all I do is pull them up all day long! Needless to say I never wear them!

Labmini- great job on the loss! I know its tough to not see the scale move

Morning!!!
How was everyone's weekend? Mine was good. Well except for having a sign fall on my head and now I have my first black eye. It'd be a lot more funny if it didn't hurt so durn much. I was holding my baby when it happened, and I am so thankful he was unharmed.

Didn't eat super well, but the scale is showing me some love. I just cannot weigh in everyday right now. Probably every other day. At bootcamp this morning we had our monthly fitness test: 1 mile run and then 10 minute nonstop pushups/squats/burpees. I took another 30 seconds off my mile run and did an extra round of exercises than last time. My run goal is to have a mile in the 8 minute somewhere (8:59 would be fantastic!)

Before Bootcamp breakfast: Protein Drink
Breakfast #2: 3 scrambled eggs. Forgot to make my coffee. Need coffee. Desperately.
Lunch: TBD. forgot to make my quarter chicken leg for lunch. Might run to Wendys...
Dinner: Brinner. Breakfast for dinner. Eggs 'n bacon

March Goal 228

March 1 242
March 2 242
March 3 240
March 3 238

Total losses so far 36 pounds in 35 days!!!

Thanks for all the support and the weigh in is done. It was a 40 day challenge but I only did the last 35 days due to big weekend in the first week was already plan. Enough excuses here are the results.

Weight 274 to 238 Down 36lbs
Body fat 35.2 to 27.9 Down 7.3 percent (thought this would be more)
Total pounds of fat loss 36.2 (which means I gained in lean body mass)
BMI 40.4 to 35.3 Down 5.1 percent

There were all kind of other numbers but those are the main ones. Will not know the winner till tomorrow night at 7:30 at the party they throw for this thing every year. So hoping for the best. The head jumping bean at the club said that I looked good for winning at least placing so I am really excited. Thanks again for all the support and praise.

Well off to work will check back in with personals later.

good morning everyone! i am in sunny (yay to see sunshine) but COLD miami! I'm inside a convention center, but there are WINDOWS -- at least until the first session i have to cover on psoriasis at 10am. Got into my hotel too late for food or adult beverages, so I had a diet coke. (i had a glass of wine on the plane). I had saved the innards from a couple of breakfast bagels at work (these are GOOD), so i had that last night. The hotel had free breakfast, and I was able to snag some scrambled eggs (all the while asking to myself, I hope they don't put pancake mix in them? But i saw the chef making the omelets and those didn't have anything added) and a piece of - what was that? petrified bacon? really? I couldn't even bite through it!. Anyway, after a $37 cab trip to the convention center, I got my press pass and dumped my stuff in the pressroom and they had DIET COKE!!! doing the happy dance now!
Seems that dermatologists don't really get up early -- these halls are empty!
Kemp did you scope out the other contest challengers? I can't imagine anyone losing more than 35 or 36 pounds in a month!!! i know that you will win!
EVERYONE be strong today!

Thanks DQ, It was really early today when I weighed in, and the weigh in goes all day, but so far so good I am in first. And way to stay strong and on plan in Miami, I love that place.

Morning Ya'll!!!

I had a good weekend, but no real scale movement. I guess that's better that it going up. I didn't get around to cooking yesterday like I normally do on Sundays, but we went to a fantastic brunch. Prime rib, eggs any way you want, bacon, sausage, etc plus plenty of higher carb items. We won't go every week or anything cuz it was pretty pricey, but once a month or so would be nice. Tonight I'm baking a turkey breast and making soup (egg drop with chicken and spinach added).

B - boiled chicken, yogurt
L - chicken, 1/2 avocado, celery
D - italian beef w/cheese and red pepper strips
coffee w/CO & lemon water to drink

3/1 - 208.8
3/2 - 210
3/3 - 209.8
3/4 - 210.2

Was at a friends' birthday party yesterday, and I kinda drank a whole bottle of wine. Didn't want to have whiskey because of the higher carb count, so opted for wine instead, but one glass led to another and oh my lord did I miss alcohol.
Whiskey is higher carb count than wine? I did not know that!

Food Yesterday:

B: 5 bacon
S: coffee w/ HWC, splenda, CO and hazelnut SF syrup
L: 5 bacon
D: 4 oz pork loin roast w/ homeade BBQ sauce (2 servings = 5.4 carbs!)

Ok, so here is my major accomplishment this weekend. I was looking at all of the BBQ sauces on the shelves and the lowest they had for a 2 Tbsp serving was 11 carbs. So, I took a pic of the ingredients and came home to make my own. One of the main ingredients in all of these BBQ sauces was molasses. Do you know how many carbs are in one serving of molasses? It is not good! So I made my BBQ sauce without it and it wasn't bad, but I am looking for molasses flavored subsitute.

The ingredients in most of the shelf BBQ sauces were the same. My ingredients were: tomato paste, water, white vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, liquid hickory smoke, worchester sauce, and SF raspberry syrup (used this to replace the sugar, brown sugar and molasses.)

As I said it wasn't bad, but I am going to work on perfecting this recipe. and each serving (2 Tbsp) only 2.7 carbs!

I use an online tracker. It helps me keep track of my carbs, calories and fat. I love the barcode scanner it has so I just scan what I am eating and it enters it into my food diary. It's a very useful tool as it helps keep you on track.

Oh no, that's incorrect. If you can shoot whiskey, then shoot away, no harm done!

Here's a little info I pulled for you:

While I can say with great certainty that every whiskey *should* be 0g of carbs per serving, here are the ones I have specifically verified for people:

Canadian Mist - 0g
- a Canadian whisky made from corn and barley. Made in Ontario.

Canadian R&R Whisky - 0g
- a cheap one from Canada, it is just alcohol. I can't even find a website for this one though.

Chivas Regal Scotch Whisky - 0g carbs
- from Scotland, a blended whisky

Cougar Bourbon - reported direct from Foster's PR people for 100ml:
Cougar Bourbon 0.0g
Cougar Bourbon and Cola 8.7g
Cougar XS 0.0g
Cougar Zero (pre mix) 0.05g

Crown Royal Whisky - 0g carbs, 0g fat, 97 calories per 1.5oz
- from Canada, a blend of corn, barley and rye

Canadian Club Whisky - 0g carbs, 0g fat, 96 calories per 1.5oz
- from Canada, uses corn, barley, rye and rye malt

Early Times - 65 calories, zero carbohydrates, and is gluten-free
- reported by the EarlyTimes crew. Per ounce.

Fireball Whisky -
- There are 11 carbs and 108 calories in 1.5 fluid ounce of Fireball Whiskey. Straight from their PR people.

Glenfiddich Scotch Whisky - 0g carbs
- from Scotland, best selling single malt Scotch. Made solely from malted barley

Glenmorangie Scotch Whisky - 0g carbs
- from Scotland, mentioned in "The Highlander". Made solely from malted barley
from their staff: "The calorific value of whisky at 40% abv is 220 cals/100ml, so I'm afraid it doesn't come under the heading of a diet drink, however there are no carbohydrates in whisky so you'll be OK if you are following the Atkins diet."

Grant's Scotch Whisky - verifying but they should be 0g

Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey - 0g carbs, 0g fat, 72 calories per 1oz
- from TN of course. It's not Bourbon because it's not from Kentucky!

Jameson Irish whiskey - 0g carbs
- established in Dublin Ireland

Jim Bean Bourbon - 0g carbs
- Bourbon, from Clemont, Kentucky 100 calories per shot, 80 proof

Johnnie Walker Scotch Whisky - 0g carbs
- from Scotland, a blended variety. They use 27 different distilleries.
Full Details on Johnnie Walker Scotch Whisky

Kentucky Deluxe Blended Whiskey - 0g carbs
- From Heaven Hill Distillers: "Thank you for your inquiry regarding Kentucky Deluxe whiskey. Kentucky Deluxe 80-proof whiskey has 98 Calories per Standard Serving Size of 1.5 fluid ounce. It contains no carbohydrates."

Dr. McGillicuddy's® Fireball Canadian whisky - 0g carbs
- also 69 calories, 0g fat. 100% Canadian whisky, 66 proof, cinnamon flavors

Maker's Mark - 0g carbs
- "There are no carbs and appx 70 calories per one ounce of Maker's Mark."

Seagram's 7 Crown Whiskey - 0g carbs
- This has 40% alcohol, 97 calories per shot.

Southern Comfort - 3g carbs
- history is it was first created in Louisiana. Technically a peach flavored liqueur

I have the dreaded migraine back again, I could use a shot myself. Cheers.

Congrats to Lori, labmini, mydear and Scarllett on your weight loss!
Awesome number at your weigh in Kemp! Amazing results! You're a winner either way!
Hang in there CheshireGirl! I've had a lot of those days too! Water weight sucks! :-)
Kizz, I hope you are feeling better! Migraines are the worst and not much helps! :-(

I hope everyone is having a good day and staying focused!

B: coffee with HWC and DaVinci, chia pudding, oopsie roll with cream cheese and cinnamon
L: oopsie with chicken salad
D: bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on an oopsie
S: oopsie with cream cheese and cinnamon

That makes 4 oopsie rolls today! Hoping it doesn't have a negative impact. I am loving them and they allow me to have more variety. I use 8 eggs and 8 oz. cream cheese with a pinch of cream of tartar to make 12 rolls so the carb count is very low. Fingers crossed! :-)

Weight
3/1: 196
3/2: 194
3/3: 194
3/4: 194 hoping this isn't the beginning of another stall........

Kemp, oopsie rolls are a gluten free bread that contain eggs, cream cheese and a pinch of cream of tartar. I love them! Here is the recipe:

Oopsie Rolls (Gluten-Free Buns)
3 large eggs
pinch of cream of tartar (1/8 tsp)
3 ounces cream cheese (Do not soften)
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
Separate the eggs and add cream cheese to the yolks. Use a mixer to combine the ingredients together. In a separate bowl, whip egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff (if you’re using the same mixer, mix the whites first and then the yolk mixture). Using a spatula, gradually fold the egg yolk mixture into the white mixture, being careful not to break down the whites. Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick spray and spoon the mixture onto the sheet, making 6 mounds. Flatten each mound slightly.
Bake about 30 minutes (You want them slightly softer, not crumbly). Let cool on the sheet for a few minutes, and then remove to a rack and allow them to cool. Store in a loosely open sack and allow to rest on the counter before use (otherwise they might be too moist). Can be frozen.
Notes: If you are making these to be savory (for burgers) you can add dry mustard and dill or other seasonings to the yolk mixture. If you want a more sweet roll, add a very small amount of stevia natural sweetener to the yolk mixture.
Makes 6 Induction Friendly, Gluten-Free rolls.
Nutritional information per roll: Calories:85 , Carbohydrates: .6 g, Fiber: 0g, Net Carbohydrates: .6g, Protein: 4g, Fat: 7.5

I don't even worry about mine being "roll-shaped". I use 9 eggs/9oz cr cheese etc and then dump the whole bowl out onto a parchment lined cookie sheet. I can then cut it into squares the size I want (think a slice of bread).

March Goal ~ 275

3/1 - 288.6
3/2 - 286.6
3/3 - 286.2
3/4 - 284.8

I'm late checking in today, but still wanted to post before the day was through. I was so excited to see the number on the scale today, I wasn't expecting another loss, in fact I was really afraid it may have even gone up some. Anyway, Monday is my only day off each week, so it's late by the time I get to the computer, but everybody is doing so great!!

I'll have much more time to write tomorrow, but I did want to say that Kemp, I know you have this in the bag! I can't imagine that anybody lost more than you did!

Hope everybody is having a GREAT evening!
