I made goal!! I posted this in the main lobby but wanted to share here too....

Today is a day to celebrate for me! Since I began this WOE on 1 January, I have lost 35 lbs! In addition, my BMI went from 35.5 to 29.9. This is very significant because I went from being deep in the BMI range for obese to my new BMI range for overweight. I have also gone from a size 18 to a size 12!!! Not bad for a 3 month effort!!

Since I began this journey, I am more committed than ever to making this a permanent lifestyle change and I feel better than I have in years. My chronic allergies and sinus issues have improved dramatically. My indigestion problems are pretty much gone. My confidence level is way up. I can do so much more with my kids. My PMS symptoms, which always included terrible migraines, are much milder. I care a lot more about my health. I now worry more about my kids' and husband's nutrition and health. I now look forward to buying new clothes and love that I don't have to shop in the plus size section. I don't get winded tying my shoes or climbing a flight of stairs. I now enjoy going for walks and look for opportunities to get in extra exercise.

The down side: I have had to buy all new clothes/shoes/bras/underwear, will soon need to get my rings resized before I lose them........can't think of anything else! There really is no downside!

There have been many times that I thought about giving up after a short stall or during my sweet cravings. I also had two cheat meals that could have led to cheat days/weeks. However, for the first time in a LONG time I stuck with it and now I know I can get to my goal of 160. With 35 lbs down, I only have 25 to go!

This forum has been a huge help for me! The information and encouragement received has been phenomenal and I'm not sure I could have done this without it. Thanks to everyone for sharing your successes, struggles, recipes, food plans, etc. I look forward to reading everyone's posts every day. They are often very motivating and inspiring!!

WTG Julie!!!!!!!! That is awesome. KUTGW

Reta- WTG on resisting that carrot cake. That is one of my favorites too.

WTG on the loss Passionate!!

295.3.... ate a piece of cake yesterday. BLEH!!! And I did not walk. Hoping to get my walks in on my break. Found out yesterday that my mom has diabetes and high blood pressure. Dr. told her to reduce her carbs so she was asking me lots of questions. Praying she can overcome this. Problem is she does not eat any veggies but salad and cucumber.

Hey gang, just wanted to let you know that I am still on plan barely, dad is in hospital so I had to rush to Beaumont yesterday. I will post upon return. Trying super hard to stay on plan, not easy when staying in a hospital but very doable. He is going to be fine.

Kemp, my thoughts are with you in these difficult times.

March goal: 195

March 01 - 204.1
March 02 - 203.4
March 04 - 202.1
March 05 - 200.8
March 06 - 203.2 -- added nuts yesterday
March 08 - 201.9
March 09 - 203.2
March 13 - 199.5
March 17 - 200.4
March 18 - 199.3
March 20 - 202.1
March 21 - 200.4
March 22 - 199.7
March 25 - 199.3
March 26 - 199.7
March 27 - 198.6
March 30 - 199.5

Been having a horrible week. Strayed off plan more times than I dare count, and simply not been feeling very motivated these past few weeks. Need to get myself together for April.

Had scrambled eggs, bacon and half an avocado for breakfast, will make salmon with assorted veggies later on, then hopefully I'll head down to the gym for a bit of a workout and swimming. Looks like my friend won't be able to join me, so I might not go either.

Hang in there Straphe! We all hit those bumps in the road where we struggle and it is not fun! Don't beat yourself up about it! We're all in it for the long haul so just get back on track! We are here for you!!

Kemp, still sending prayers for your Dad!

Today we will be getting ready for Easter. Cooking a huge lunch and having friends over tomorrow so lots of prep work to do today. I will eat off plan tomorrow but I decided not to cause myself pain by eating a sugary dessert so I will make a LC cheesecake instead. I will eat a little of the carb filled side dishes with dinner. I will keep my portions small though and it won't last beyond the one mid-day meal. Today I'm also boiling a dozen eggs so we can color them. I will have a lot of egg salad and deviled eggs in the coming week!

No change on the scale today, which is fine. I will be happy to end the month at my March goal. Hopefully my planned Easter cheat meal doesn't affect me too much on the scale!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! For those who celebrate it, Happy Easter!!

good morning everyone!

ooooh it's --dare I say it? A little warm outside this morning? That's the report from the dog, anyway.

Cheshire - Do you Have to have nuts? They are one of my soft spots and I usually just can't have any.
julie - good luck tomorrow. I just don't have the -- what is it? will power? to eat off plan food. It's a different kind of will power than the kind I have that allows me to eat on plan for months and months -- actually it's been more than a year now! oh i forgot to mark my one year anniversary on induction! I'm afraid that the carbs will creep back up, along with the weight.

Julie, I was reading this page again- and my question to you was written poorly. I hate rice anyway, and I haven't had any in years and years (haha like 10 years) but do restaurants/bars/whatevers serve sashimi without rice? I've only had it in the US on a bed of rice (which is such a waste). Can you find just grilled fish in Japan? And places that have sukiyaki -- is the meat marinated or is it grilled and then you dip it in sauces (or not)? Oh and what could I find in the markets? Sashimi? And I was reading that you can get omelets, but that sugar is always added; is that right?

Had a gig last night and wore a dress that I haven't been able to fit in for years!! I am pretty good with my current weight, but I'd like to lose a little more in my waist, hips and bust. I'd like to have my waist taut, with no ability to pinch fat!

Hey! You don't have to drink all that water!

DairyQueen, many sushi restaurants will serve a lot of the sashimi without rice (especially the more expensive items). Many times there will be a sushi chef in the middle of the restaurant preparing fresh items and it is very easy to special order (rice = gohan). You can easily get grilled fish in most restaurants. Be careful with grilled beef sukiyaki, as it is often marinated in a sweet sauce (like teriyaki). Many grocery stores (and even convenience stores) will carry sushi/sashimi but it is always better/fresher from the sushi restaurants (and many of these will offer take-out). Omelets will vary greatly, some being sweet, but in Kyoto you will find that most restaurants will have English speaking servers so you can always let them know about your diet restrictions. I always found the Japanese restaurants to be very accommodating. Most restaurants will have very limited options for salad dressing though (thousand island seems to be their favorite and there is often a sweet soy sauce like option). May be safer to buy some single serving sized Ranch packets here and take them with you. :-) One other warning, there are a lot of burger joints in Japan but be careful if you try them as a typical Japanese hamburger is often prepared more like a meatloaf with breadcrumbs (and often served with an egg on top). If you want a burger, you may want to go to an American restaurant (McDonalds on every corner and a lot of American chain restaurants). A real treat would be trying a Japanese Kobe steak (very expensive but so yummy!).

It certainly won't be the easiest place in the world to stay on plan, but it can be done. I hope you have a safe trip and a great time!!

At least I close the month with an all-time low and renewed energy for April. Going to make a low-carb cheesecake today, according to a recipe I found here. Quite looking forward to it - I'm not much of a cook, but it seems easy so it should be fine.

Someone should start an April challenge thread soon.

Hey, Everyone. Im still on my trip. No carrot cake so far. I did eat a bar that had 20 on friday, but I was staving with no other options. It didnt derail me at all as far as I can see. Dinner is planned everyday, but I hold out and head to hardee's for a 1/3 lb burger. I am noticibly slimmer. Wont be able to weigh in til tuesday am.

Happy low carbing!!!

JUlie: Way to go on reaching goal. that is awesome.

I have been living at the hospital but somehow managing to stay somewhat on plan. Not y normal eating habits but well with in the normal atkins range. Keeping carbs well below 20 a day. I have been drinking a bourbon or two at night to take the edge off. I did weight this morning(on a random scale at moms house) and was 234, 2 pounds up. But that could just be to overeating or the scale is slightly different. I did pick up some sugar free candies which I never do when focused and on plan. But I feel I deserve a little treat. My dad is doing ok, we have a big hill to climb but the outlooks is decent at this time. Going to head to the CVS today and pick up some keto strips and see if I am still in. Thanks for the kind words

Morning and happy easter !!!
Congratulations to everyone who worked so hard this month...persistence really does pay off! April will be even better!!

I made some fantastic crab cakes yesterday...just crab meat, a little mayo, spices and eggs. I used a spoon to put them in the frying pan...like pancakes...and they turned out great. Made oyster stew too but didn't get around to eating it! We'll have that and the leftover crabcakes tonight. Mmmm

Thinking about your Dad Kemp - make sure you take care of yourself as well!!!!!

Still 195.1lb but after the work I did yesterday like mowing our third of an acre garden that was really overgrown because of the recent drought I am thinking it is a case of more muscle ,less fat.

I had a wonderful Easter lunch but now I am miserable!! I enjoyed being able to eat everything but now I'm getting bad cramps and I'm stressing over what the scale will say tomorrow! I am definitely motivated to begin the April challenge strong! I won't be eating much tomorrow!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

Kemp, sending prayers for your Dad! Hang in there!

Hi all!

Finding some time to post. I am going to end the month at 166lbs so a loss of 2 lbs this month along witha whole bunch of life changes, so I'll take it. I am a little torn as to where to go from here though. Eating this low carb has me feeling so stopped up and I have been dealing with it all month, and its starting to wear on me. I bought some strawberries, in hopes they might help without going to high carb.

I really need to add cardio back in and I think I need the carbs to help with that. I am going to cool it with the cheese, dairy and AS. I really need to clean up my act or I am going to be stuck here. So I am going to take my 2lbs and run! into April!

Hope everyone is well and I hope to be posting more soon!
