oh i have a friend who is from Texas and hunts quail. We once helped make one of his specialities -- quail breasts -- pounded flat, then I think you put cream cheese and jalapeno pepper and then roll it up and put toothpicks through each one and grill them? my mouth is watering thinking of them!

Had a bit too much mochas yesterday (well, three supremes, to be exact). There's this little coffee place in town that has, like, THE best coffee. Their mocha supreme comes with a huge amount of creme and tiny little marshmallows that melt into the chocolatey coffee. Oh em gee.

I really am trying to stay within the guidelines of 1-5 a day.

176.2 today,. I found out those hotdogs from yesterday have 4 carbs each! And of course, the sodium got me a little bloated on top of being in PMS mode. I was gonna have more today. But NOT! Im frying 2 hamburgers now to use for lunch. The seasonings I almost used had 2 carbs a serving. Man, they are everywhere! And I know I used too my HWC in coffee. yesterday. So, I'm extra careful today. So, a little damage here. No worries. Keep going.

menu
decaf with HWC and co
eggs, bacon, butter (1)
caf/dec coffee with hwc (today Im only having 1/2 caffeincated coffee mixed with decaf)
small salad, dressing, hamburger patties (3)
cheese, porkrinds
parm chicken

total for today (4) that I can see. No artificial suger in my coffee today and no decaf after dinner cause that's when I'm really tempted to use too much HWC and AS. I might have herbal tea. No headaches yet from downsizing from the caffeinated coffee. Thursday will be my first day without any caffeine. Wow. Cant believe I just typed that.

No workout this morning. Ran out of time. I will walk this evening after dinner. The lack of caffeine is messing with my am energy level for doing intense am workouts. That's ok. I will switch it today and get another one in Wed am. We have a 5 day trip planned starting Thur. I plan to stay the course until the last day when Im pretty sure I will have cake. This will be challenging.

DairyQueen: Exactly, but I use pepper jack cheese and wrap it in a thin piece of bacon, grill and enjoy!!!

Cheshire: I have run out of excuses why you are not losing. Meat and egg fast maybe???? But you are awesome for staying on plan!!!

Straphe: Could be the marshmallows, they are loaded with carbs??? And caffeine is still a no no for me. I am jealous you can have it and still lose.

Reta: You are after my dieting heart. Way to go. Yes carbs are everywhere like little gremlins waiting to destroy you planning. I stick with basics only. No sweetener s, no hot dogs unless Hebrew nationals, and I have to check the carb count in everything I eat. You are doing it just like I do and it works as you can already tell. Way to go.

Passionatefire: Man I cannot believe you are not losing weight, it has to be water retention in the fat cells, happens to me also. I will sometimes stall for two weeks straight no matter what I do around the 225 range. I have now started doing a stall buster day that has worked so far. But way to stay the course.

March Goal 228

March 1 242
March 2 242
March 3 240
March 4 238
March 5 238
March 6 237
March 7 237
March 8 238 (WTH) (going off plan at 2pm)
March 9 DNW
March 10 DNW
March 11 249 (12 pounds gained in 3 days)
March 12 245 (now that is a whoosh>>>4 pounds of water, yea!!!)
March 13 242 (all water but fun none the less)
March 14 238.4 (well there you go, took 3 days to lose the weekend carb fest)
March 15 237.2
March 16 236.0
March 17 236.4 (up!!! what the heck, not worries, had too much cheese)
March 18 234.4 (a whoosh!!!!)(40 pounds on the ground)!!!!!!!
March 19 233.4
March 20 232.0
March 21 229.6 (stepped on scale 5 times, then old rotary one which even said less)
March 22 DNW
March 23 DNW
March 24 DNW
March 25 241.4
March 26 235

Down 6.4 pounds of water weight this morning. I am cooking 2.5 pounds of bacon right now for the week and will also do some no carb breakfast sausage. Best part of restart is you can eat without abandon!!! I just plow through, sometimes eating over 2000 calories a day. Going to have leftovers today for lunch and dinner. Will find out this morning if I am allowed back on to the stair stepper. If I add that to my weight workouts the sky is the limit on weight loss. Going to have to kick it into high gear to get all this bloat off and down to 228. But It is a goal I want badly so will try very hard. I still have 5 days left to get 6 pounds off!!! No problem right!?!?!?!??!

Come on Julie!!!! you can do it!!!!

Thanks Kemp. I'm trying. What's your stall buster day?

I don't think I will make 170 this month, but, I'm still working this plan. If I can just keep from gaining over this next week (past TOM) I will be so happy.

Good morning all-

Still getting the hang of working and commuting again. My food has been fine (aside from a planned cheat day last Sunday) but my workouts have gone out the window and I need to get back on it! I am planning to go to a yoga class tomorrow night so that should help jump start me ACTUALLY working out.

Also I know I need to cut back on the AS. I ran out of stevia at home, but the office has splenda and it has been making its way into my tea or 2 each day. Also now that I am back in the city and Starbucks is EVERYWHERE the sugar free vanilla blonde roast has been calling my name. Good thing I am cheap and have only had 2 since I started.

I didn't weigh this morning but maybe I should tomorrow just to see where I am at. On Thursday we have a company outing and its a cooking competition so I may just have to eat what is in front of me that day- but I am going to tread lightly and see.

DQ- I am on LI and commute into Manhattan- sorry to everyone if I sound like a jerk just referring to it as THE CITY. Thats how we do it around here. This commute is different than my previous one because I take the train into Brooklyn, instead of Penn then get on the subway to Manhattan. I am not as far east as Huntington but it still takes me 70-80 mins each way, so its an adjustment right now.

Anyway this is all very boring to you all- keep up the good work everyone and hopefully I will be able to post more soon!

So I can find this tomorrow
March goal 160 (would love 158)
3/1- 168
3/2- 169
3/3- 168
3/4- 167
3/5- 167
3/6- 166.5
3/7- 167.5
3/8- n/a
3/9- 166
3/10- n/a
3/11- 165.5
3/12- 165.5
3/14- 165
3/20- 166.5 - ugh! Water Water water and workout is the plan!
3/22- 165
3/26 - No idea

Down 6.4 pounds of water weight this morning.
I have no real idea either - except that based on the jeans that are currently fitting I believe this is the weight I was for a couple of years before meeting hubby & catering to his cravings (it's a good thing I love him!), so it may just be a sticking point. Hoping to break through once again, my goal is 10 more lbs by May 2nd!

Awesome news on the big drop in water weight, you'll be back to losing in no time!

Good Morning!

I'm now hoping to break even for the month & I'm really not upset about that (today anyway). I'm very happy with the rest of my life. My weight is the only thing I can think of that I'm not happy with & there's even some days that I'm content with it. Hubby loves me the way I am so it makes it easier for me to come up with excuses...too easy in fact!

Today
B - leftover cheeseburger
L - hot chicken salad w/celery
D - deer brat & broccoli

coffee, water & tea

3/1 - 208.8
3/2 - 210

3/12 - 210.6
3/13 - 209.4
3/14 - 208.8

Great Morning Friends!!

Just got back from my NYC trip and boy did I have some nice SOBER fun

Thanks for all the congrats... it was surely a surprise to say the least but we are excited. This will be my second. Have one DD5.

I do plan on being LC and adding in berries and oats. I have checked with my Dr. and she is more than happy with this. So that's good to know.

I will still be weighing in and walking everyday and still going to the gym. everything has been approved by my doctor so I am excited about that.

Have a great day everyone and CONGRATS to all the losers. Y'all are doing awesome.

Reta: It is not science but it works for me. I drink a lot of water so when my body holds on to it and I want it gone I do this. I hit the gym first thing in the morning, like 5 am. Do a hard 1.5 hours of cardio, then a steam room for 10 minutes, and do not drink any water till after steam room. I then drink a ton of water the rest of the day. In my mind at least it drains the fat cells of the water they are holding. Then I eat super low carb and low calorie(700) for the entire day, then hit the gym again for another 1.5 hour workout of cardio that night. That usually breaks the stall and gets me moving again. For me to do this I usually have to stall for at least 5 days straight. The I will do this and then the scale will start moving. I guess a shock the body thing. I also try to keep calories higher now than before and do not stall as much as before. We are all such dedicated dieters that we sometimes think less calories is good when in fact it can stall us. Just my opinion and it seems to be working well. Good luck and I so admire you dedication to this WOE.

CEECEE: Sometimes sober fun is fun, sometimes I cannot wait for a drink fun either. Happy you are having number 2. Good luck.

Lambini: I love NYC, but to much of a country boy to live in that part of the world, Plus with the pizza and food they have there it would be near impossible for me to stay on plan. I do not consider Houston a real big town.

Just got done with the doctor and well I am allowed to sweat, at least, but no cardio for 3 more weeks!!!! UGHHHHHH!!!!! But I can hit it hard on the weights so that is good. I will not get the calorie burn but better than nothing. I cannot even swim due to my foot flexing while kicking. He said I can stop for three more weeks and do the physical therapy or have surgery and be off my feet for months. So guess what, no swimming or cardio for 3 weeks. I can now prove if weight training and not cardio will keep up the results. Will actually be a nice test.

Labmini, I hear you on the AS. Today's my first day without it, and I had a slight headache. I know its withdrawals. But, Im hanging in there with it. I've being using different ones for about 18 years which is the same amount of time I've been overweight. I really think it has something to do with it altho I have no science to prove it. I hope you enjoy the yoga.

Nicki, I think its great that your DH loves you just the way you are. Mine is the same way. Sometimes we run the trails in the mountains and he marvels at my stamina. We go from 3-7 miles. Being 'thick' is the only issue I have. No other health concerns. Im very blessed.

Ceecee, glad you're doctor is good with your way of eating.

Kemp, that stall buster is a brutal day. Im printing it out and will use if needed in the future. You are a beast at this! Very amazing. Cant wait to see what results your weight work will bring.

Oh, Shelly, I hope you feel better soon.

Kiwi, good, it'll be gone soon. Hang in there.

I almost grossed myself out. I know I'm a litle low on calories so I drank 2 tbspns of HWC. Weird. Must find another option.

Shelly, hope you feel better soon!

Hang in there Cheshire Girl!!! Hopefully your body will get the hang of this WOE soon!!

Nicki, love your attitude! Also happy you have such a loving hubby! :-)

Kemp, sorry your work outs are delayed even further. Hope you get what you need out of weight lifting!

Keep up the good work PassionateFire, Ceecee, Lori, Straphe, labmini, Reta and DairyQueen!

I am enjoying my week off work! Love spending all this time with hubby and my boys! We went out for both breakfast and lunch today at different Mexican restaurants. Hubby had really been missing Mexican food since he can't get any in Afghanistan. However, it is so hard for me to stay strong as it is one of my favorites too! Hubby and the boys even ordered queso dip to go with the chips and salsa at lunch......talk about torture!! :-)

Today's foods:
B1: coffee with HWC and DaVinci, small sliver of LC cheesecake
B2: 2 eggs scrambled with chorizo and cheese
L: pork carnitas fajitas with sour cream and guacamole
S: small sliver of LC cheesecake
D: Atkins shake
(LC cheesecake is to keep my ridiculous TOM sweet cravings at bay!!!)

Hope everyone has a great night! Praying the scale is kind to all of us tomorrow!

Kemp, it definitely was the marshmallows, they were so tiny and cute, but I'm sure they were chock-full of carby badness.

March goal: 195

March 01 - 204.1
March 02 - 203.4
March 04 - 202.1
March 05 - 200.8
March 06 - 203.2 -- added nuts yesterday
March 08 - 201.9
March 09 - 203.2
March 13 - 199.5
March 17 - 200.4
March 18 - 199.3
March 20 - 202.1
March 21 - 200.4
March 22 - 199.7
March 25 - 199.3
March 26 - 199.7
March 27 - 198.6

No wonder my weight loss decreased dramatically since I started going to the gym - I needed something I can munch on whilst still at work, and found this "all natural" bran fiber-y bar kinda thing, and was happily eating two of it three times a week - turns out one bar has 26g of carbs! And I was eating TWO a day!

Anyway, have to cut that out of my diet, but then I need to find something else to munch on at work, cannot go to gym with an empty belly. Nothing I've tried so far has worked out, and I don't like the taste of precooked, reheated meat, so I really don't know.

Straphe, try beef jerky, egg or tuna salad, a chicken breast seasoned, cooked and cut up. It can be finger food with water. Just let it naturally warm up and munch on it a room temperature. As long as room temp is not 98 degrees. Porkrinds or cracklin is a good snack. loud but good. Good luck.

Passionatefire: You got this challenge in the bag. Way to get it done.

Straphe: They do have carbs in them. But looks like you have lost a pound so that is great. Keep it up. you are not leaving much room to eat if you do not like reheated meat, as far as quick snacks go. But like Reta said pork rinds are good. Cheese is awesome snack also. I do bacon as my number one snack, I know it is zero carb. I also do dry smoked sausage from BH. Cannot mention any brands or I get a warning from the web page. They are very strict about that. Hope this helps.

Cheshire: Great job on getting it back to 160.2, hope it keeps going down asap.

March Goal 228

March 1 242
March 2 242
March 3 240
March 4 238
March 5 238
March 6 237
March 7 237
March 8 238 (WTH) (going off plan at 2pm)
March 9 DNW
March 10 DNW
March 11 249 (12 pounds gained in 3 days)
March 12 245 (now that is a whoosh>>>4 pounds of water, yea!!!)
March 13 242 (all water but fun none the less)
March 14 238.4 (well there you go, took 3 days to lose the weekend carb fest)
March 15 237.2
March 16 236.0
March 17 236.4 (up!!! what the heck, not worries, had too much cheese)
March 18 234.4 (a whoosh!!!!)(40 pounds on the ground)!!!!!!!
March 19 233.4
March 20 232.0
March 21 229.6 (stepped on scale 5 times, then old rotary one which even said less)
March 22 DNW
March 23 DNW
March 24 DNW
March 25 241.4
March 26 235
March 27 233.4

Nice to be down some more. Only 3.6 pounds to go till my before cheat weight. I think 228 may be a stretch for the challenge but going to try very hard. I plan on hitting the gym everyday this week and do the best calorie burn I can get for just doing weights. I worked so late yesterday that it was a no gym day. UGHHHH! I do love my gym but it closes at 10 and just could not get it in. Today is not much better but will force it at lunch if I have to. All have a great day!!!

Oh, Kemp, You're doing great even without the workout. You might make goal this month. I've been too busy to get my workouts in the last few days and tomorrow we leave for a trip. I'll be back at it on Tues tho.

I'm feeling better now that I got some food in me today. Man, I was missing my coffee and AS this morning big time. Getting ready to have my last small shot of caffeine before I go off the grid with it w/o AS. OMG

Can anyone suggests snacks to eat first thing in the am for energy to workout to help replace caffeine? Im thinking cheese, but I might just start having a chicken leg. Just kidding. But, something heavy enough to make a difference but light enough not to interfer with performance.
