I got a lot of tips from Kemp. I studied a lot of his posts and some others who have been successful. I also spent a lot of time reading about Atkins 72 plan as well.

So, lately, I've been working out almost daily, eating less than 5 carbs a day (meat, eggs, mayo, tuna, splenda), eating a lot, drinking lots of water and getting lots of rest. That's it. No cheats at all. Kemp said you have to be ready to commit. Stocking up on all your favorite LC foods and eating only that. I'm also almost off caffeinated coffee. I started working in decaf to fool my brain. So, far no headaches. I also stopping have my generic crystal light powders everyday (hidden sugars). Just water. I miss it, but I'm sick of being fat. I've got to change my ways if I want to see changes. My daily carbs consist of splenda and a few veggies.

Thats it. I also order the the Atkins 72 book from Amazon. I did a lot of reading on different sites about the old verses the new ways of atkins. The old way seems to work best. That's what I'm doing.

Feeling much better today. No more tummy issues and no sweet cravings today.

Glad to see everyone is doing well and staying on plan! Only one week left in March! Let's all get to our goal this month!!

Easter is still a week away yet I am already dreaming about the ham, turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes with gravy, green bean casserole, pies, etc. I plan on splurging a bit and enjoying Easter with family and friends. I fear how miserable I will be after all those carbs though! I will eat a little of everything but try not to over do it with the portions! Will also try to drink a lot of extra water that day.

One pound from goal! So close yet so far away....... :-)

Hope everyone has a great day!

My childhood memories of holidays which focus on food are of feeling stuffed all day.... NOT a good feeling.

I woke up late and ran into work -- so no weighing today.

Thanks for this, I'm going to give this a try this week! I can't do the workouts but I'm going to try the rest I only have around 15 carbs a day but dropping down to 5 may jump start my loss. I've been on this woe for almost 3 years but had a carb creep before Christmas and put on 10lbs and I really need to get it off before the summer!

Just got back home. I at least stayed away from the cokes and caffeine. That was the only win as I was off plan this weekend. Hope it comes back off again quick. Will catch up with post and see how everyone is doing.

Oh, Julie, this is exactly why I didnt have apple pie tonight. I had it cut and lifted in the pie pan to tranfer to my plate. I literally stood there for 20 seconds looking at it, and then it hit me. That small piece would have given me serious food hangover and who knows what else in the morning. I want this weight off. No cheats for a while.

I'm pretty sure that between Friday and today I was up at 200 again, but I didn't weigh in. But was pleased this morning, and going to keep at it. Hit the gym hard yesterday and the day before, not cardio, but weights - I think that slows the actual "scale-loss", but not the fat loss. Who knows.

Had salmon on Saturday - always hated the idea of eating fish, but I've got to say, salmon tastes pretty darn good. I'll definitely cook meself up a batch this week as well. And got to make some more fat bombs/coconut barks as well, I miss coconut oil.

Today is the first day of Spring Break for my kids and we woke up to 2 inches of snow on the ground. Very weird weather this winter!! I think I ended up eating too much yesterday. I stayed on plan, just consumed too much. I also stopped taking my magnesium a few days ago due to my tummy issues and now I need to get back on that immediately since I'm now terribly constipated. Woke up to a 3 lb. gain today! That is a LOT of food/water weight. Having hubby home is great but it's throwing me off my game! :-)

What I ate yesterday:
B1: coffee with CO, HWC and DaVinci
b2: 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, 1 sausage patty
L: small salad with blue cheese dressing, few pieces pepperoni, few small pieces of smoked Gouda
S: 2 pieces Russell Stover SF Turtles
D: Caesar salad, grilled chicken stuffed with goat cheese and zucchini with red wine reduction, broccoli
S: small sliver of SF LC cheesecake (I made it......my stupid sweet cravings again!!!!)

We ate out for dinner at Carrabbas Italian Grill and there could have been hidden carbs in my chicken. The wine reduction sauce was very thin and didn't appear to have flour in it, but given my big weight jump it was either my dinner or the extra SF sweets (which usually don't impact me like this). Overall though, I ate a lot more food than normal and it certainly shows on the scale!

I will get it back together today and hopefully be back on track tomorrow! I told hubby we are not eating out tonight. :-) Will drink extra water today, cut way back on food and do a little extra exercise today!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Wow guys there is a lot going on over the weekend. I missed a lot. But looks like everyone is doing so well. I mean everyone is going down. Sorry some of you are sick that sucks. Princessmommy and julie get better soon.

Reta: Man you are really getting it done. That is the way to do it. I call it the zone when you just buckle down no cheats, no carbs and deep ketosis. It really works that is for sure. Thanks for the shout out, hope to use that to get back in the zone asap.

Well I blew it out this weekend. I had a great time. I am sore from all the fishing and hunting activities and the well the drinking!!!! I ate at will and paid the price. Up 12 pounds again after a cheat weekend. It is all bloat I hope!!! I am back focused big time, going to gym today and then staying VLC. I have Easter coming up with parents coming to my house so we will be having grilled seafood and no sweets. I know it will be easy to stay on plan with my mom in town. She hates the diet but loves the results. It is nice to come back to a place where I am held accountable and know I need to get right back into the zone. Big grill night tonight, making food for the week. Not to be gross but the best part of a cheat weekend is the carb BM's for today and tomorrow. Then back to fiber supplements on Wednesday. I feel a little guilty seeing everyone doing so well and I am off blowing the diet, but it does motivate me to get back in the zone asap.

Here is the weight chart.

March Goal 228

March 1 242
March 2 242
March 3 240
March 4 238
March 5 238
March 6 237
March 7 237
March 8 238 (WTH) (going off plan at 2pm)
March 9 DNW
March 10 DNW
March 11 249 (12 pounds gained in 3 days)
March 12 245 (now that is a whoosh>>>4 pounds of water, yea!!!)
March 13 242 (all water but fun none the less)
March 14 238.4 (well there you go, took 3 days to lose the weekend carb fest)
March 15 237.2
March 16 236.0
March 17 236.4 (up!!! what the heck, not worries, had too much cheese)
March 18 234.4 (a whoosh!!!!)(40 pounds on the ground)!!!!!!!
March 19 233.4
March 20 232.0
March 21 229.6 (stepped on scale 5 times, then old rotary one which even said less)
March 22 DNW
March 23 DNW
March 24 DNW
March 25 241.4

Back on plan and back in the zone ASAP!!!!

Welcome back Kemp! Glad you had a good time! You'll be back on track in no time!!

Nice job Reta on resisting temptation with the apple pie! That is one of my favorites so I know how hard that can be! Way to go!!

Hey! You don't have to drink all that water!

Thanks Julie, and you have such a great attitude about water retention. Sometimes it freaks me out when I have water bloat and it will not go away no matter what I do. Had a meeting push this morning so extra time to read all the posts.

Reta: Again girl you are getting it done. Way to stay focused and keeping up the gym. Atkins 72 is what I do. I avoid the caffeine and all stimulants. When I get going the weight just falls off. But these cheats do cost me a week at least of getting back in. Honestly it is worth it as long as I keep coming back to the zone and losing. You are making me proud and it is making it a lot easier this time to get right back in the zone. Excellent job!!!

Kiwi: Look at you go. Down and on the ground is your way also this weekend. Keep up the good work.

Passionatefire: You are so close you can feel it. So happy you have stayed the course and got it done.

Staphe: Your down trend is encouraging also. I love to see that. I will try and catch up to you as fast as I can.

DairyQueen: Awe it is just a bump of water weight, no worries it will fall right back off. I see you are down trending well also that is great. Pickles are a staple in my fridge, but olives not so much, they do make me stall it seams. I just avoid them until OWL. Glad you are still getting it done and losing, keeps me focused.

thanks kemp -- yes, I know that it's a blip. The closer i get to goal, the more difficult it is! I have to say that i do love the smaller size clothes-- i'm comfortably in size 6 now,and that makes me pretty darned happy, and focused. As a matter of fact, I'm taking another huge garbage bag of too-big clothes to the thrift store today!

Oh i had a question - so i bought a jar of dill pickles yesterday and thought that i'd add some splenda to see if the brine would sweeten. Well, it seemed as if the pickle brine got MORE SOUR. is that possible? was I hallucinating? taste buds playing tricks? who knows?

Mar 23: 163.8
Mar 24: 164.4
Mar 25: for the life of me can't remember...too sleepy! (Think it was 165.0) Had a lot of salty, but on plan, snacks yesterday.

I naturally eat meat and eggs with very few carbs other than condiments. At times, because of the low fat mentality ingrained into us from decades of low-fat hype, I still have a tiny bit of doubt. Then I have a checkup and continually get great results and kick myself for even a second of doubt. I am happy to report a 2-year low on my blood pressure last week of 110/60! YAY!

Shoveled about 5 inches of snow this AM! Got to work 3 hours late due to school and daycare closings. I had to make sure all my kiddos were taken care of and my driveway (about 150 yards of it!) was going to get plowed. Then for the first 7 miles of my 19 mile drive to work I continually questioned why I even bothered to come into work! It was a nightmare. But I passed some invisible line where all the roads seemed to magically clear and now I’m buried under a mound of paperwork . Oh, and it’s still snowing!

Passion – Congrats! WTG!
Julie – Hope you are feeling better.
DQ – That bleu cheese burger looks amazing! I took 5 large bags to thrift store this weekend. Only 2 were mine though, the other 3 were the kids.
Shelly – YAY! But seriously I hope you feeling better.
Kiwi – WTG getting back to it!
Straphe – Good attitude!
Kemp – I hope you get back “in the zone” quickly.

Hey ya'll! i'm without internet..again! Stupid phone! Went ahead and sent it back so i'm phoneless for now! lol
Weight yesterday was 152
Today 153 again! But it's MY fault! we unexpectedly went out with my cousin and her husband who also happens to be my husbands best friend Saturday night! We haven't been out with them in 20 Years! it was total last second and I had no say so in where we ate so I will admit I made a few bad choices. I tried but then again not as hard as I should have though! I take full responsibility for My food choices and weight gain. ugh though! lol!

Went to Waffle house for dinner unexpectedly. DH had the full pull all american meal. I had a hamburger patty and dipped it in mustard. We were both very happy.

This woe is a benefit to me in so many ways:
1. no PMS symptons
2. waking up fully alert with no need for caffeine
3. losing weight
4. more muscle tone showing up
5. energetic all day
6. more flexible
7. able to pass up sweets, bagels, etc with only a glance
8. don't think about food all the time
9. not falling into bed every night feeling like there's a weight on my shoulders
and
10. get to eat some of the more delicious, moist and tasty food ever - and be satisified when I'm done.

Reta: You are really doing so well. I am ditto on that list. well except for the PMS part!!! lol. I still do not know why I cheat on certain weekends but I do. Today I started at a place that has donuts set out every morning, I did not even think about it, well I thought about it. But so happy I did not. I could not wait to get back on plan this morning so I can have all the good stuff, like energy and sleeping better and no withdrawal.

Well made it through day one. Just wrapped up all the grilled leftovers. I was bird hunting this weekend so ended up with lots of quail and chuckar. They were delicious and will be good tomorrow for lunch also. Also cooked up some pork tenderloin and chicken legs. I am set for the week on lunches and dinners. Getting up early tomorrow and cooking a couple of pounds of bacon and a pound of sausage. That should get me through the week.
