Happy Monday! Thanks to daylight savings time it was very hard to get up this morning! I was the same weight again today. That seems to be my trend - lose a few pounds then stall. However, it is better than gaining so I'll take it! :-)

Glad to see everyone is doing well! Keep it up!!

Day 2 of daycare drop off went well- almost too well as she loves it there and barely looked up when I left! This is really going to be easier when I then get on the train and go to work next week.

Ok so I cheated on my every other day weighing and weighed in this morning and was the same 165.5 so I am a-ok with that.

Julie way to hang in there and accept this is how your body is going to be losing
PassionateFire- nice 1lb loss!

I am going to be out and about today and remembering my water bottle so I keep drinking!

Congrats to all of the losers out there and yes! a happy belated birthday princessmommy!!!!

Labmini – I remember having to do that with both my daughter and my son. Heartbreaking, even though we know it is for the best.
PenPen – My oldest (17) had prom last year and is coming up again this year. I have to admit, it was pretty anticlimactic. On the other hand my 7 yo daughter is already a drama queen, so I can only imagine what prom for her will be like .
DQ – Enjoy your day off!
Bethany – congrats on the loss!
Cheshire – what fun! I love spending days with the kiddos when it is a special day for them. My 15 yr old had a sports banquet last night. It was great to be there and see him be part of the team.
Mydear – WTG on the loss! And you look so happy in your siggy with your daughter and grandson!
Kemp – Nice save! Hope the hunger leaves you soon! Good job getting back on the wagon!
Julie – still going in the right direction!
Passion – Some movement!! YAY!
PrincessMommy – Happy (belated) birthday!!!!

Good morning! Yesterday my baby boy, Elijah was very sick with a fever off and on all day, so I didn't check in or eat much. It was so sad to see him so sick like that laying around and not even trying to get down off the couch even when "the gate" was left open to tempt him. I actually cried a few times to see him so pitiful and I just felt so helpless, poor boy, he is 15 months old today, and this is his first real sickness. My 13 year old DD brought it home from school, I think.
He seems much better today though, so hopefully it is not Strep.

Bethany- Wow! You are just doing so good this month! You are my little partner in crime, since we are neck to neck! I am always happy when I see you lose, it kind of feels like MY loss...lol
Do you think you are doing anything different this month to account for this? Anyway, keep it up! I'm right behind you. Literally. By a pound. (wink wink)

Kemp- Kemp, Kemp, what can I say? I was shocked when I saw you had put on 13 lbs over the weekend! But then I realized, there is no way that can be actual fat lbs, it's impossible, and I wonder if it was worth it, but I'm thinking that it probably was....all of us, (at least I know I have), wondered what would happen if we scheduled in a cheat day. But you drop the weight so quick, if I put on 13 lbs, it would take me 13 weeks to get back to where I was at the rate I am losing. So I was scared, when I read your report-but like I said, realized you will have most of that off in a week, like Passionatefire stated.
You're such a crazy man for doing this, and thanks for sharing and being honest with your results! Out of curiosity, did your wife have a cheat weekend too, and if so, how did she fare? Well, anyway, I'm glad you are back on the saddle, and for you, 20 lbs in 20 days is STILL do-able, you devil, we've all seen you do it!

Julie-Are you still doing meat and egg? It seems to be working nicely for you! You're having a great month!
Also, I WILL bring the ring pops when I follow you around, but I get the watermelon pop, so just tell your 4 kids to get that straight in their little heads right now!

Labmini-Glad to hear your little darling is adjusting well to daycare! I know it must be harder on momma!

Mydear-Sounds like fun, a day out shopping with loved ones. Here in Ohio, we had beautiful weather over the weekend as well, and it felt so good to be outside with sun on my skin and fresh air blowing into the house finally! I love the smell of spring, although I know it was maybe just a tease, as it is freezing again today. Fingers crossed you get your elevator fixed soon! And congrats on hitting 237! Slow and steady wins the race, right? (BTW-I was thinking the same as DairyQueen, I know there is an ordinance against that, everything has a legal time-frame on it...seems to me they have gone WAAAAAY over and maybe no one has reported this to the city)

Cheshire- Your cake excursion sounded like it was so much fun! VIP, wow! And you, being so good and not being tempted into cake-xual bliss. Way to go! I am a bit worried, because it is my Birthday on the 26th, and I have my own cake dilemma going on. I want to make my own VERY lc carb version of an angel food or something, with cool whip for icing, but I don't know any recipes. I really don't want to ruin my Birthday by gaining a pound, but no cake? Anyone know of a good VERY LC recipe for cake? I would only have a very small sliver. Maybe.

Lori/ceecee-Great drops! Woo-hoo!

Hey all!!! I'm still here lurking around.
Weight hasn't changed...still holding steady between 210.2-210.6 (No whoosh last week like I was expecting...) I've upped my workouts now. Sun, Mon, Tues, Thurs, Sat /cardio & weights both
Menu is also a little more dialed in this week. Holding at apx 1200 cals. 60%fat-30%protein-10%carbs. I'm afraid to tweak any, so I'll guess I'll just ride this out for awhile.

Today
B - protein shake
L - 2 eggs, chicken, mayo (hot chicken salad) w/2 stalks celerey
D - cheeseburger, broccoli, cottage cheese
coffee, lemon water

Chocolate Layer Cake with Chocolate Sour Cream Frosting (Low Carb and Gluten-Free)
Yield: 16 servings

Ingredients

Cake:
2 1/4 cups almond flour
3/4 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup granulated erythritol (I used Swerve)
1/2 cup vanilla whey protein powder
1 tbsp instant coffee
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp xanthan gum
1/2 tsp salt
6 oz Greek yogurt, room temperature
1/2 cup butter, softened
5 large eggs, room temperature
1/4 tsp stevia extract
2/3 cup almond milk
Sour Cream Frosting:
4 oz unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1 1/2 cups sour cream, room temperature
3 cups powdered erythritol (I used Swerve)
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tsp stevia extract
1 1/2 tsp xanthan gum
Instructions

For the cake, preheat the oven to 325F and grease 2 8-inch round cake pans. Line cake pans with parchment paper and grease the parchement.
In a large bowl, whisk together almond flour, cocoa powder, protein powder, granulated erythritol, instant coffee, baking powder, baking soda, xanthan gum and salt.
In another large bowl, beat Greek yogurt and butter together until combined. Beat in eggs and stevia extract. Beat in almond flour mixture in two additions, alternating with almond milk, and scraping down beaters and sides of bowl as needed.
Divide batter between prepared pans and bake 30 to 35 minutes or until cakes are set and a tester inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool in pans 10 minutes, and then flip out onto wire racks to cool completely.
Once cool, use a large serrated knife to cut each layer in half horizontally to create 4 layers total.
For the frosting, in a small saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate and stir until smooth. Set aside.
In large bowl, beat sour cream and powdered erythritol until smooth. Beat in cocoa powder, then vanilla extract and stevia extract.
Sprinkle xanthan gum over mixture and beat in until frosting thickens slightly. Stir in melted chocolate, scraping down sides of bowl, until well combined.
Place one layer of cake on serving platter and top with 1/2 to 3/4 cup frosting, using knife or offset spatula to spread evenly. Repeat with remaining layers and frosting. For final layer, top with any remaining frosting and spread down and over sides of cake, smoothing with knife or offset spatula. If desired, use back of small spoon to create swirled effect on top of cake.
Chill cake in refrigerator for at least one hour. Any leftover cake should be wrapped in plastic and kept in refrigerator.

Each serving has a total of 10g of carbs and 5g of fiber. Total NET CARBS = 5g.

So this cake sounds perfect! Do you know if it tastes good or not? I def. want to make it, the carb count is great, but not sure where to find erythritol, xantham gum or almond flour. All I have is cruddy Walmart or Krogers. I could maybe order online, but don't think it will get here on time for my Birthday. Going to try my best to either find these ingred. or substitute for others.

Thanks for posting! Sounds amazing! I was wanting a choc. cake anyway!

Kizz - I feel your pain with a sick little one. My two year old son has definitely had a little tummy bug the last couple of days and has been acting pretty tired. Makes me so sad when he isn't his perky self.

AND...yes I'll gladly be your partner in crime! What hot superheroes (or super villians??) we will be, eh???

I'm still at 187 today, which is fine. I know I can't lose a pound EVERY day, although that would be heavenly. I've been eating a lot of meat and eggs and a little cheese, occasionally will throw some green chile or something spicy on them. Lots of water and an occasional diet soda if I feel like it. Honestly I've really lost my appetite lately, which I know can be a side effect of this diet...but I need to keep my calorie count up some, because I'm still nursing my six month old full time. I try to sneak extra calories and fat in with butter on my eggs and stuff.

Bethany-Ah, breast feeding....I breast feed Elijah for the first year. It was like the fat just melted off of me. The only problem was it made me STARVING all the time, I guess this is a normal side effect.
PS
I wanna be the hero, I'm sick of being the villian....lol

MyDear-Yay! So glad you aren't stuck anymore. That picture of you in the new elevator is great! You have the most beautiful smile that just lights up the room!

Hi Everybody! I didn't get a chance to post yesterday and I missed everyone! It was my day off, and one day off a week just isn't enough time to get everything done! I never had a chance to get near the computer, so I posted yesterdays weight, and todays weight both today. Fortunately, I was down both days, so I'm excited! I'm ALMOST to the 20 pound mark in less than 3 weeks!!

I'm short on time, and not enough time to respond to everybody that way I wanted to, but.....

Kizz, I hope your baby is feeling better. I have 6 kids, so I know how very hard it is to watch them suffer. It's heartbreaking.

Cheshire, PLEASE don't let that little gain discourage you! It's got to be water and will come right back off! Hang tough!

Kemp, Like everybody else has said, I firmly believe that 20 pounds in 20 days is doable for you!!!

I actually cried a few times to see him so pitiful and I just felt so helpless, poor boy, he is 15 months old today, and this is his first real sickness. My 13 year old DD brought it home from school, I think.
He seems much better today though, so hopefully it is not Strep.
Kizz sorry i forgot to mention that i hope the baby gets better soon.. the elevator drama had me all upset this morning... hope he's starting to feel better

Wow! So much activity today! It's great to read everyone's posts!

Princessmommy, belated happy birthday and congrats on the weight loss!

Mthergoos, PassionateFire, ceecee08, Kemp, LoriAS, and Kizz: congrats on your weight loss!!

Mydear, glad your elevator is finally fixed!

Kizz, I hope your son is feeling better! I have a 6 year old with asthma who frequently gets sick (being in kindergarten and exposed to all those germs doesn't help!) so I truly sympathize! My husband often says they are building up their immune system when they are sick (he tries to see the positive). Hang in there! Hoping he recovers quick and you don't get sick!

Labmini, reta, bethany, HarmsWay, CheshireGirl: KUTGW!

I have continued with my plan to eat multiple smaller meals/snacks during the day. I then have an Atkins shake at dinner time and nothing after 6pm. It seems to be working! I am doing much better than I did in Feb! I'm also getting my work-outs in!

B: coffee with HWC and DaVinci, chia pudding, low carb hot cereal
L: 1/2 chicken Caesar salad
S: 1/2 chicken Caesar salad, chia pudding
D: Atkins shake
Lots and lots of water!

Hope everyone has a great evening!

1 more pound on the ground, way to go

Kizz: Sick kid that is awful, so sorry for you and the little one, hope he gets better soon. My wife did cheat on saturday and got right back on also. She did not gain much at all but she is small and weight does not fluctuate that much.

Reta: smidge on the scale is just a blimb on the radar so no worries way to get right back on.

NIcki:Way to up the workouts that will get it done.

Cheshire: Just a blimb, but when it happens to me i usually go flat insane and crazy so keep at it, it will keep coming down soon.

Mydear:
YEAH!!! Elevator is working.

Mothergoose: Thanks for the support, I am going to do my best to make goal.

Julie: one more pound on the ground way to go

Hit the golf course today and walked it a lot, also hit a large bucket of balls, was on the course for almost 5 hours so hope that gets it done. Because i did not get in a workout today. Hope to have a few pounds off in the morning but if not just keep on going!!!!

hi everyone -- i slept IN this morning, went to annapolis and to a new (to me) consignment store and then my dad's, where we had crab imperial and salad!
IT WAS DEEELISH. i think i overate and feel a little -- bloated! that's all i had today except for a glass of chianti and -- i was starving this morning on the road and had half a bag of salt and vinegar pork rinds. Maybe it was because i was so hungry, but they were good!
Now for a glass of champers.
SO. it POURED here and on the eastern shore and ....I guess i'd never driven up the dirt road to my dad's when it had poured AND was also high tide. I was finishing the NYT sunday puzzle and my head was down -- until we-- stalled. We ended up on a little mound but had gone through some standing water. ugh. While Mike tried to find the radiator cap (yeah, you have to take the inside console OUT) in order to dry it out, I took off my sneaks and waded to the house (it's right on a river) with my bag full of dinner fixins and the dog and computers, etc etc. Fun! The car finally started, the water level went down (it was only about 4" at the deepest) and we were able to leave right at dark. Happy times! See yall tomorrow!
Oh, haha weight was unchanged this morning!

Hey! You don't have to drink all that water!

Thanks for all the well wishes for my little guy. He is being a moody little bugger, and his fever has broken so I am hoping he is well on the road to recovery. He has his 15 month old shots scheduled for Thursday, but I think I should reschedule, just don't feel comfortable with him just barely getting better only to have to face fighting measles mumps and rubella. Anyway, thanks again everyone!!!

Oh and Dairy Queen, your life should be a movie... Never a dull moment, and I can just see you wading through that water with the dog and computer! Thank goodness you didn't just wash away, you in your size 6 jeans miss skinny minnie!
