Well I haven't been doing to good, allowing myself some cheats here and there and I'm up 3.5 pounds.

I recommited and am going stong and started adding in exercise.

Well, technically I started in December, but I was going off of memory of when I had done this ten years ago and lost 55 lbs. I was only 28 then, and the weight just melted off of me.

I was doing the Atkins wrong in December, only lost two or three pounds, and ordered the new book off of Amazon to "refresh" my memory. Then I realized why I was not losing the weight....

Here's an example of what I was doing-drinking one to two G-2's (low cal Gatorades) a day. Just one of those suckers has 12 carbs in it...also my sister was in town for the Holidays (she has been doing the low carb thing for years, and so of course, her diet was not as strict as induction is) she was telling me it was ok to eat nuts (made me GAIN), all kinds of low carb protein bars, sugar free candies and all kinds of crud, it's a wonder I lost at all.

But the good news is, I got the book, realized the error of my ways and now am back on track. So for me, it seems like a lot longer then just January til now because I was not eating all the yummy Christmas cookies and treats, I was sitting down with a plate of pork rinds and a piece of ham at Christmas dinner. Boy did my family give me crap for that

I like what you said on the January challenge board, about hating the recipe rooms because they encourage people to eat things full of fake junk and get them off track. I agree. At first I got so excited to go and make a "fat bomb" and cheesecake muffins, yatta yatta yatta..... then I realized this was just making me gain/stall/ or just plain think about food too much. The last few days I have only been eating when I am hungry, and that is not often. I try to make sure it is a fat and protein when I do eat. This has been helping.

Thanks for your encouragement-you have lost so much weight on this-I like to watch and see what you are doing and eating so I can align myself with that

Everyone seems to be doing really well at overcoming the frustrations of slow weight loss, carb monsters and temptations. We can do this we just have to keep coming back and encouraging one another. Good job to all!!

Hi ya! Yesterday was a good day of LC eating. I still think I'm snacking on way too much cheese, but oh well. I made the white castle casserole last night. holy goodness that was good! It's definitely making it's way into our weekly rotation of food.

I've got some things going on in my life right now, have created quite the roadblock for me, but I am working on getting back on track, not going to let this derail me for good. Morning Everyone! I'm still not down as low as I got to on Saturday, but I did weigh in at 202.2 this morning, so that's nearly a pound down. It's probably getting to me a little more than it should be because I want to get out of these nasty 200s! Still on plan, no cheating, so I think I'll get to where I want to be by the end of the week!

Afternoon everyone!
Wow is it really only Tuesday? Seems like this week has been a long one already.
Stayed on plan yesterday: finished the day pulled pork, mixed mayo with hot sauce and then mixed it with the pork. It was really good. Had a little salad with ranch on the side.

Today:
B: protein shake ( need a break from the eggs) unsweetened almond milk - protein powder, egg (looks like it still made it in) unsweet cocoa powder and a little kale
L: salad, radishes and cucumbers with ranch and canned chicken with mayo
D; ribeye steak with green beans
S: cheese stick

Feeling a little depressed last night. Put on a pair of shorts and I just felt fat. I find myself second guessing all the fat intake when I feel that way. Trying to hold strong
Making my son dinner last night and I gave him some grapes...boy did they look good. I do miss the fruit
Everytime I think "oh one little bite won't hurt" I keep remembering the part in Dr. Atkin's book saying how long it can take to recover from that one little bite. Buying the Valentine candy and just wishing.....oh well.
Now if I could just get the reward for being such a good girl IT WOULD HELP!

Oh my gosh i was up a half pound today. Now, I've been totally on plan. I haven't had to take a diuretic (i take one when my ankle gets swollen -- my left foot has some scar tissue which sometimes causes swollen ankles, and that gets exacerbated when I sit for a long period of time) for days -- and i'm guessing that's it. Although I'm a little disappointed, I know that the weight will continue to go down. I am POSITIVE that it will go down. Everything is good!

and kizz you are right on the money - i usually don't think much about food. I'm actually good with going home and eating an omelet or a scrambled egg, or some of that hot garlic cheesy dip I found the other day - low in calories and 1 carb per 2 Tablespoons. A couple of tablespoons of that, and I'm good for hours.

Did anyone watch Westminster last night? FUN to see the Old English win the herding group!

Lost 40 pounds back then and maintained for almost 8 years...then carb creep crept. I've always been low carb, but went hard core again in March 2012.

B-didn't have time-had to run to a meeting

D-Blackened ribs (snacking on them throughout the afternoon/evening)
S-sugar-free Resee's cup (3 at 1 carb plus they double as a laxitive...lol)

Tasha-I've been there too, hope everything get's better soon! I'm pulling for ya!

PenPen-don't let those shorts get you down, I don't even bother wearing shorts anymore...they make me feel gross and they like to ride up in the back with every step, so I feel like I'm a constant wedgie-puller...lol
Keep up the hard work and it will soon pay off! I keep telling myself that I am getting a handle on this at the perfect time, when it's cold and nasty out and what else do i have to do but take this time of the year to shape up for summer-we have quite a bit of time before swim suit weather is upon us

Morning all
Had a good day yesterday: finished the day with a great ribeye.. yum
I actually got my lazy butt moving and rode my bike in the garage on the trainer for about 20 mins hard, then did some free weights. Felt good once I was finished.
Today
B: 2 eggs with butter and cheese, 2 sausage patties
L: tuna salad with mayo and salad with ranch
D: meeting with friends
S: cheese stick
Meeting an old co-worker and her husband for dinner. My co-worker is 57 and is suffering from early dementia. She lost her job because of this evil disease. It breaks my heart to see a perfectly healthy woman who has everything ahead of her, seeing her three children finish college (one is already done and is a doctor) to see them get married and to enjoy her grandchildren.
When I struggle with this weightloss and become so unhappy I think....wow this is something I can control. I can't image being in her shoes because she knows that she is sick and her husband is doing his best to take care of her. But they are so YOUNG TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS ALREADY!!!
She had just finished school and started a new job 2 years before this really kicked in. They have been everywhere for help but there is nothing anyone can really do to help her.
So I guess everyday I get up I need to say thank you that I can actually remember what yesterday was like.
Sorry didn't mean to start everyone's day out sad but just to start the day out thankful.
This weightloss IS something we can take hold if and we can do it!!

Happy Hump Day! How is everyone doing? Yesterday's eating was great. I had no cheese. I'm kinda convinced cheese slows my weight loss. especially now that I weighed myself at 4:45am (made it to bootcamp this morning!) and the scale said 146! I checked 3 times to make sure I wasn't standing funny on the scale. haha

I am starting to feel like I can breathe finally! I have had a headache yesterday and today right in between my eyes, which I am sure is from the antibiotics beginning to clear up my sinuses and the bronchitis. I will be SO glad to get rid of this crap! One of my co-workers even said that my cubicle sounds like a tuberculosis ward! It has been really terrible. The funny thing is, other than coughing my fool head off, my energy has never been low and I've managed to continue to get things done work full time and juggle 4 kids and their schedules. I really don't think if I was still eating the SAD that I would have managed.

Met our kids at McD's last night so the grandbaby could run around and play. I was a good girl and had a salad, even though McD's french fries are my all.time.favorites. Hubby and I went dressed for the gym, so it was easier to say no. Right after dinner we spent 1.5 hrs sweating it out in the gym so the gain on the scale again today isn't bothering me. I'll get to goal eventually, it just might not be as soon as I would like.

Well for poops and giggles I got back on the scale a few hours after this early morning weigh in and it was Back down to 151.6! I don't know what the heck to think! Maybe I need a new scale Or just one of those natural body fluctuations? Oh well i'll keep the original weigh in this morning at 153 since it was first!

Nicki - good for you on staying away from those horrible smelly fries (try thinking of them that way - or as globules of fat you can just as easily attach to your abdomen!)

hi everybody the numbers are still inching downward. 244.4 this morning.

good news is they have the elevator running in the building next to mine. so now i will be able to walk 2 flights up to go over the root and take the elevator down stairs. i dont know how thats going to work for doing my laundry or doing a major food shopping but i can get back out this house everyday now.... think i'm going to start walking the block again this afternoon.....
