for the pork rinds, if you have UTZ brand, they are pretty good!

trying very hard to be good with all this valentine candy floating around..... talk about needing will power

to stay motivated i went and tried on some summer clothes (heading to FL next month HOLY YIKES!) i was so happy to see that most, not all but most, of my shorts were loose in the waist. now when i want to cheat i think of those shorts

i lovemesome utz brand. actually I know utz from their pretzels. I will have to look on the chip aisle at the grocery store. I NEVER go down that aisle, but might make a special trip just for the pork rinds.

On another website they had a LC pizza recipe with a crust make of pork rinds.

Mafiamom - we are heading to florida in May. One of my goal treats is to buy new shorts for the trip. I'll be damned if I show up wearing maternity shorts

Happy Valentine's Day!! It is a little depressing for me as hubby is in Afghanistan. However, my 6 year old son said he would be my valentine since daddy is gone. Made my day! Ate a little more than usual today so worried about the scale tomorrow! I also broke down and ate an Atkins chocolate treat bar........which was much better than the real stuff I guess! I just really felt deprived not having chocolate today! :-). Hope everyone had a great day!

Two cents on pork rinds: Being from Texas we have them by the boat load in every flavor you can imagine. I like to use the light fluffy ones at the mexican rest. but for snacks I eat the med. hard ones. I do like the really hard ones to suck on while driving around. Kroger does have a good light fluffy one that is delicious with cream cheese on them. If you really like pork rinds then try and find a Mexican meat market they have great ones and they are always fresh. They have the soft to the super hard. If any one else has any questions about pork rinds let me know.

Did a great work out tonight. 62 minutes on the stair stepper, 224 floors, 786 calories, 4.67 miles. Felt great but I am beat. Hope the scale shows me some love in the morning.

Looks like most had a good day yesterday!

Uhm ... Pork rinds are made from pig skin? I don't think I'll try so hard to find it here then hahaha. I suppose it tastes pretty good since most people like it but it sounds terrible

I was so busy yesterday I didn't sit down once till 9 pm, just about to put my series on when my friend called with crisis-stories .... Sigh. Was soo tired I ended up just going to bed without sitting down at all.
Didn't lose any more weight though despite staying on plan and moving around so much (carried LO un tricot slen for 4 hrs too).

Morning all, first day of half term for me which means a week off work (I work in a school) looking forward to getting nearer my Feb goal
Got a ENT appt this afternoon - having the camera down the throat to check all is ok due to acid reflux

Haven't decided what I'm eating today yet apart from an egg this morning.

Not sure about pork rinds - they call them pork scratchings over here in the UK and are hard to find unless you are in a traditional old pub somewhere to be eaten with a pint of beer

Happy day after Valentine's Day. How did everyone do yesterday? Temptation was extremely strong last night. I had a large caesar salad and then hubby brought out red velvet cookies. I had this vision of myself with cookies in each hand cramming them into my mouth. I instead let myself have two heaping spoonfuls of peanut butter. After eating those I felt rather sick, and that was surprising. Thankfully the scale showed me some love.

kemp - thanks for the info on the pork rinds. question - when looking at the labels how do you know if they are the hard or soft kind? I'm in Texas too. I'd prefer something soft like funyon soft.

B - protein drink
L - TBD. I'm going out with my brother, so I'll opt for a salad wherever.
D - TBD. probably doing leftovers, so a quarter chicken leg while the family eats off some enchiladas and rice we have

work out - bootcamp this morning! Felt great

Feeling really terrible again today, calling the doctor AGAIN to see what she wants to do since I finished my antibiotic today.

Hi everyone!
Rosysmum: Great job not eating the cookies! Sometimes when you manage to resist the temptation you feel good about yourself the next day, I do anyway. Bad husband!!
Princess Mommy: I love mexican food too. I went the other night for dinner and had to keep the bowl of chips on the other side of the table. I ended up ordering the taco salad and just ate the stuff inside. It was tough because I love everything there!!

I did make a cheesecake kinda dessert for Valentine's Day. Cream cheese, SF pudding, HWC, sour cream and whipped it all together. I topped it with cool whip. Not an every day kinda of thing but great for a special treat.
We are going out tonight to Texas De Brazil for dinner. Meat, meat and more meat. Sounds like a plan. Anyone ever been to one?

Congrats to everyone!!!! & TGIF!!!

I stayed totally on plan yesterday. I probably ate too much dinner (ribeye, cottage cheese & broccoli) BUT it was delicious! Plus, Hubby and I killed it in the gym for about an hour & a half last night, so I was especially hungry. I can't wait to get back to the club this weekend...I know you can't exercise away a bad diet, but it's gotta help me get to a much better state of health faster than LC alone.

D - ribeye & eggs (i'll throw some kinda veggie in somewhere too)

Evapork rinds are awesome…if you think about where the majority of our food comes from, we’d all starve to death…give em a try
Katie – I woulda totally ate the cake too……
Cheshire – hope your scope comes back ok….your throat might be sore, so soft food or broth might be in order later…
Shelly – I LOVE me some Mexican food…chips and salsa are tough to stay away from. I usually order fajitas for two….skip the tortilla and beans. There’s plenty for me to eat and plenty to take home for an omelet later
PassionateFire – You are also kickin some major butt!!! I’m jealous!
Roxysmum – large pork rinds are usually softer than the smaller ones. You can almost see the difference in the “fluffiness”. Its hard to explain…

Hey it looks as if most everyone is doing great -- and those of us who aren't losing as much as we'd hoped- all have great attitudes! haha!

I was up a little today - ate more than usual yesterday. During the day, i went to a new and fantastic sort of combo charcuterie boutique/butcher/deli -- called Sharkowsky's - oh man a couple of us got pastrami sandwiches as big as my head! (think carnegie deli). I only ate a few slices of the pastrami, which would have been plenty FOR THE DAY, but mymike and I went to dinner at our local mexican place (brilliant cause we don't go very often and he loves it and it wasn't packed) -- and i had some salsa (eaten with a fork! bwahaha now THAT's a way to keep the intake down), one of those tortilla bowls with salad inside (and steak strips, guac and sour cream) and nachos al carbon (more steak strips, guac, sour cream and some melted cheese). I could barely eat anything and for the first time in a LONG time just felt stuffed. I DID have two miller lites there and a big glass of wine when we got home.
TMI? haha -- today i FORGOT the pastrami leftovers! wah! tonight we have a gig so I'll probably have s Subway salad.....
TOmorrow I go to NYC for a day and a half! always fun!

First started Atkins April 1, 2002.
Lost 40 pounds back then and maintained for almost 8 years...then carb creep crept. I've always been low carb, but went hard core again in March 2012.
Hey! You don't have to drink all that water!

HarmsWay -thank you yes it came back ok, nothing sinister but got to have some voice coaching to use my voice correctly at work (no shouting at the little ones lol!)

It's great not being at work ...... More time to post on here!
