Carb, Protein, Fat, Calorie Balance
Hello friends,
I've been lurking for sometime and finally have to post because I am totally confused as to what balance of carbs, protein, fat, and calories I should be striving for daily. I've been lurking cuz I don't want to get spammed for what I am about to share... but here goes (the info probably needed to calculate) - let me preface by stating that I am almost 50 and have been fighting ten pounds I put on while working at a dorm four years ago (freshmen 15 is easy to loose in your 20s, not so much @ my age). Thanks to Atkins I have lost 5 lbs and am currently @ 112, goal is 105; 5'1" tall (or short), I sit at a desk all day, but do take a brisk 30 min. walk @ lunch and 30 minutes on a recumbant bike after work. Been trying to keep carbs under 20 net/day and calories around 1,000. I drink 50-64 oz of water daily, now I just need to get the protein and fat calculations dialed in so I can shed the last few lbs. and move toward maintenance. Any "rules of thumb" for determining how much protein & fat I should try for during induction and then for OWL? Thanks! |

Opinions vary but you can consider 65% fat, 30% protein and 5% carbs on atkins.
