Gramma! Good luck on your plan!Well my Sunday casseroles really are helping me today - went out to eat to the Golden Corral last night - I did awesome - Steak, baked chicken, green beans, salad! I did have 1 strawberry dipped in cool whip - but that was it for dessert. Anyway, of course eating out last night I did not want to cook when I got home so I just stuck my casseroles in some tupperware and I was good to go! Very, very happy! I would have never thought I would have had the will power to pass up on Fried Chicken, mashed potatos w/gravy and rolls - but I did it! I'm so proud of myself ![]() Well, I hope everyone is still going strong and staying on plan. Menu today: B: Sausage, egg, cheese bake L: Taco Bake D: It's going to be something wonderful made with ground hamburger - I just have to find a recipe! S: Salami w/1 slice of cheese Happy Thursday everyone!

Thank you for your welcoming ways. I look forward to "visiting" with all of you daily to keep me on plan. Induction underway; today's menu plan not terribly interesting, but (I hope) appropriate and effective.
B: 2-egg omelette (beat with water, no added carbs) w/1 oz cream cheese; leftover pork chop pieces; 16 oz water, black coffee L: ??? w/water D: Lamb chops (it'll be 70 today and DH wants to cook out), green salad w/Ceasar dressing, maybe some cucumbers, sf jello. and more water, of course. am I correct that the plan suggests (8) 8-oz glasses of water as a base + another 8-oz glass for each 25 # weight loss needed? *I've forgotten (since I haven't re-read Dr. Atkins' book lately); does black coffee or sf ginger ale count as water? Singing on ... |

Hi everyone! Today is Day 3 for me and so far, so good! I have been quite tired lately and I assume this is part of the "induction flu"??? I also need to start getting more sleep, but that's another issue.
My meals for Days 1 and 2 have been identical: B - Bacon (2 slices?) and 2 cream cheese muffins L - Spinach salad with chicken, broccoli, cheddar cheese, and ranch dressing D - Hamburger topped with cheese (no bun, of course!) and green beans S - cream cheese muffin I have already decided not to make the cream cheese muffins again. The taste is just okay, but I have found myself treating them like a real, sugary "snack" (ie thinking about when I'm going to eat them, rewarding myself with them, etc.). I am trying to get away from emotional eating, so I think I will need to limit sugar-free treats for now. My other problem is that I'm not used to shopping for so much meat! I am a former vegetarian and I could honestly live just fine without eating meat (well, provided that I got to eat as much pasta and bread as I want to! - ha ha). I need to think of ways to have meat prepared ahead of time, especially for me to take to work for lunch. If I'm not prepared, I will stop eating this way. |

Today is a great day. I've been on induction for almost three weeks now and wasn't losing weight at the pace I have in the past. Over the last couple of days, my body has finally kicked into high fat burning gear and I'm now down a total of 11lbs since the start. It's weird, I just started adding some Coconut Oil to my coffee in the AM so I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
A big help has been the microwave flax seed recipe. It tastes great and really gives you something closely related to bread that can be used in a sandwich. Has that nice wholegrain earthy flavor. |

Coconut Oil
Hey everyone. I have heard great things about the benefits of coconut oil. Has anyone tried it? I ordered some online this morning and I can't wait for it to get here. I read online that it helps with weight loss. I will keep you posted!

Hi Newbie also starting induction :)
Hi Im a 31 year old Australian mom of 3, ages 5, 3 and 14 weeks and I need to lose weight now!~
this is the best way for me to learn good habits for life and I am such a carb junkie it is so not good for me!! I am currently about 98kg /216lbs and my goals will be in 4 stages firstly to get to 90kg /198lb then 80kg/176lb then 75kg/165lb what comes after that is a bonus I am happy to be 75 but would be awesome to get down to my correct BMI 140lb would be perfect. (I find it easier and less overwhelming to work on several smaller goals. Im so glad I have discovered this forum!! there seems to be alot of great info and recipes and lots of supportive people - Im happy to exchange emails or messenger IDs if anyone wants to chat also happy losing!! |

Welcome Aussie! You've already lost 42 lbs?! That's great!!! I haven't lost weight in 2 weeks, and now trying to stay under 10g carbs to see if that will start the weight loss again. I've been working out 5-6 days a week, so I don't understand what's happening! I have been right around 1000 calories a day, or less, so I wonder if I need more fat/calories?! I will try it out and see. Good luck on the weekend everyone!

Good morning everyone and HAPPY FRIDAY!
I hope everyone is doing good and staying on plan. I am down 1.5 pounds from last Friday, 12.5 total pounds since 1/2/13 - WOOHOO Menu: B: Ham and cheese quiche L: Hamburger wrapped in Bacon (it is actually pretty darn good - of course it was a recipe from Linda Sue's and Hamburger wrapped in Bacon is not the real name of it) D: Chicken Thighs (but not just plain ole chicken thighs - it will be another amazing recipe from Linda Sues) |

Congrats 2f2f! 12.5 lbs is awesome.
And welcome to the new posters! I actually had a "win" just a bit ago that I wanted to share. It's snowing here and the kids got out of school early. Dh (who normally travels) is home today, so we are all home together. Apparently everyone had the munchies because they were eating Joe Joes (Trader Joes brand Oreos) and fruit. I was hungry too, but couldn't come up with anything. Finally, I just got out a slice of sharp cheddar and slowly ate it. You know what? I'm completely satisfied. I CAN do this!!!! |

Maddierose, and good luck on your planAs for the chicken thighs - I get my recipes from: Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes - Home - a lot of great recipes and you know which ones are induction friendly. Well I had a not so good weekend - Friday and Saturday I drank way too much beer. And yesterday I had 2 onion rings, 2 bites of my daughters pancake and 4 squares of a chocolate bar. I'm not sure of the damage I have done, I will know when I weigh tomorrow. I am back on plan today! Menu: B: Ham and cheese quiche L: Sheppard's Pie (from Linda Sue's site) D: Italian chicken (from Linda Sue's site) w/broccoli |

Hi all! I'd like to jump in too. I'm a mostly sahm with a 6 year old dd and a 3 year old ds. I really can't get away with the baby weight excuse anymore. I've done low carb before and need to be more accountable this time around. I've got about 30 pounds to lose to get to my goal weight.

Hello, everyone. I started induction yesterday and would love to join your group. I have a ways to go to get to my goal. I have tried so many times to lose weight. Which I have only to gain it all back plus more. I have to get to where I am going this time. Hope you are all having a great evening.

I'll be your Induction buddy as well!
I did really well about 2 years ago. Then life got in the way (death in the family, coping with a past death, grad school, etc.) Now, I'm at my heaviest weight EVER. I'm starting Induction tomorrow. I can't be this way anymore. No more excuses. |

Brenda and Kisha! Post here and post often. Since 1/2/2013 I am down 13 pounds. I can hardly believe it. I'm in two other challenges - 1 that weighs on Tuesday and 1 that weighs on Friday. I don't weigh any other days so its always exciting and nerve racking to step on the scale - I am very happy that is has always gone down! I know there will be a day when that is not the case - but still very very happy! Looking forward to trying to meet my February goal! |

The chicken with a creamy mustard sauce sounds good. Care to share the recipe? Today's menu for me... B: Two cups of coffee with stevia drops and HWC L: Leftover Stir Fried Cabbage with Ground Beef D: Not sure yet. I do have some chicken, so probably that! How long is everyone planning to stay on induction? I am one week in and I think I may stay here for four weeks. I guess it depends on how I do during that time. |

Hello ladies
I've dropped out for a few days. I got very cold one day last week and got a sore throat. I decided to beat it naturally so I pealed one garlic clove, shredded it and swallowed it with water. My oh my, didn't it give me a stomachache! It must have burned a hole in my stomach lining because I couldn't eat hardly anything without a horrible stomach pain for 4 days afterwards. I tried antacids, milk, kefir, baking soda...and nothing calmed the pain down. Then, I tried real sugary chocolate...and that did the trick. So, I had to have sugar every day for 4 days and it totally destroyed my ketosis and weight loss. I started with Induction yesterday. My weight is up there: 127.6 this morning. My menu: coffee with coconut and HWC green smoothie L and D: turkey or beef. I've seen a recipe for asian inspired beef that I'd like to try out today
